Cov Cath should walk away with this..... The defensive personnel they have is very solid and will be able to concentrate solely on Mr.Snow, as good as he is, I don't think he has enough help to make a difference. Imo, coopers mid is timid and slow. If you have a chance to beat the colonels it's by winning the ball in the air (my high school coach told me this many moons ago). I just don't see that happening So I'm going 4-1. Cov cath scores 3 by going outside in and a Pk Snow scores for Cooper on a set piece.

Ryle should be to much for Dixie, unless Ryle has its blinders on and are looking past the red colonels to the blue colonels this should be an easy pick. I'm going Ryle 3-1 simply for the Roe factor.

I heard Dixie was ahead all game and Ncc scored twice with 6min left to tie. Either way great win for Dixie Very disappointing loss for Ncc

From talking to a few parents, HC coach will retire this year. This is hear say so take it for what it's worth. The hamburglar is right, there was no one game possession or anything to get these kids ready for this game. I will admit that Ryle was a better team but in the past 2 games for Hc the first goal was scored against them in the first 30 seconds. If it's true he nominated his center back for DPOY then why are they giving up goals so darn early? My answer to this is lack of preparation and discipline. There are a few coaches there now and I know another that would take that job in a heart beat, hey coach if your heart isn't in it please do what's best for he kids.

I watched ASnow a few times this season, he is probably the best finisher I've ever seen. I stepped away from the game for a bit so I'm sure I missed some really good players. Give this kid an opportunity to shoot and he will probably score. Didn't see last nights match but from these post he didn't disappoint.

Holy cross beat NCC twice this year

My heart says HC upset but......going to have to go with Ryle 4-1 Until HC gets a coach that teaches them how to possess the ball they will never be a real threat.

My son and I went to this game to watch what we think was the battle between Opoy and Dpoy and it did not disappoint. While Roe and the raiders won the match, the battle between roe and snow was exciting to watch. Both players are fun to watch, Snow got the better of him a few times but it seemed that Ryle did a great job limiting the chance for Cooper to get into the offensive third, therefore limiting snow's chances. The free kick he hit was ridiculous, not only froze the keeper but I think the entire crowd paused in awe of that shot. Did anyone get video of it? To me it looked high and wide to start and curled into the upper 90, not sure you could place it better by hand . I really enjoyed watching that game especially those two. I hope we have some magic today against Cov Cath from what I hear, we will need it.

If HC can stay tight in the mid they could be OK. My guess is that they keep 9 guys back and hope to counter Cov Cath. I'm not sure this will work, I've heard how good cov cath defense is. If HC keeps it with in 3 we could count that as a win correct?

Man I'm glad I started getting back into watching HS soccer. I watched both games at Conner last night and it was worth the admission. The call you guys are talking about had me curious as well because my son plays for Holy Cross and at the Ncc game the ref issued a straight red for a defender taking out a player. My eyes are going bad but it looked to be the same ref that did both games, I'd like to know his explanation of things. I thought he called a great game so I'm sure there was good reason to not issue a red. I also saw a Cooper assistant get a red card and asked to leave the field, this happened after what looked like the ball was out of bounds and he attempted to catch it. From the way the other coaches were acting it seemed like the linesman wasn't paying any attention, I'd like to know the ruling on this as well. I've been away for a few years so let me ask you this, when I was taught to throw the ball in it had to go straight back then over the head, is it really legal to throw a ball from the side now, I see it all the time. One more thing: last night confirmed that Snow if OPOY for me. That boy can flat out play. There were 2 other stand out in the late game for me. #4 for conner big strong fast has great vision and foot skill & # 10 for Cooper this young man is special, he sees the field so good and is so calm when in possession. One of the parents told me he was a freshman, keep an eye out for him.

Reading through a few of the old threads I think there were a few people that said Ncc would be good come tournament time. I was not a believer, I only saw them the 2 games they played HC and was not very impressed. After seeing the second half yesterday I thought that it was a totally different team. I thought the keeper that played yesterday was a better keeper and that #9 & 10 in the middle was a great combo. Looks like the coach made some changes for the better. So from my calculations the last 3 goals given up by Ncc have been PKs. Highlands got up that goal and seemed to be content. That got them in trouble, way to much time on the clock. Highlands will be a tough game for a winner of another district

Came out to see the second half of this game. It was everything that I've heard about, a physical battle with a bunch of scoring chances. Even if both of these guys go to the regionals they don't hold back. This was a much better Ncc team than I saw the rest of the year.

I didn't see MVP as an option Also who was nominated for these awards, that would help to know.

DPOY would be Roe from Ryle An all around great defender, sees the field and distributes the ball very well Opoy for me is Snow from cooper, saw him only once but I think he is their entire attack. His #'s are great and seems that he doesn't have padded stats

From what I've seen this year (saw both teams against a common opponent) I would say that highlands wins this game 3-1. Highlands is to much for Ncc this year.

I had the pleasure to watch this game as well. Even ran into HC alum and former Ncc coach McDonald, couldn't tell who he was rooting for. I thought that the Indians played harder than the Breds and that's why they won. There really was not much possession from either side, a lot of kick and run. I think #9 and 10 stood out for Ncc and Linstead and Doggit were the better Hc players. I'm not sure the last time Ncc lost to Hc was but it happened twice this year, are the tides turning? Is HC that good or was all that talk about Ncc just hype? Great win for the Indians Ncc better get it together One more question, how many games does that make Ncc back sit out?

Yeah I didn't know the kids name, I haven't been back in the area long but wow what a shot. My youngest was tossing the ball to himself the next day trying to mimic the goal. It was a doozie

I saw a goal at bluegrass that was pretty amazing. I was there for another team but a kid from Cooper (I'm thinking #9) hit a volley from about 35 out. The best part about this was his set up touch. The ball was cleared out by a defender and he took it off his chest to a volley that made everyone's jaw drop. Saw another goal by Dunbar while there as well. Ball was played through to the striker for a one on one, the keeper made the correct decision coming out and the kid at full speed chipped the keeper. It wasn't a blast but the skill it took to finish a shot like this impressed me.

Can't look at goals and assist if the team wins 1-0 and three people score for said team

I saw this on another post and for what it's worth I agree. Some teams can't get the better competition to schedule them. So they schedule who they can, a smart coach only allows his snow, Morgan or wend to score when needed. For instance, I read that snow had 5 goals against Campbell in a 5-4 game so my thinking is that all 5 goals were needed then I read that Morgan had 4 against beechwood in an 8-0 pounding, not all 4 goals were needed, then you have Day and litzler who are consistently putting up average #s against better teams. The goals they score are needed as well. Here's my issue, because they have a better supporting cast doesn't make them less talented or deserving but I don't think they have to work as hard to get the ball. I'm in no way taking anything from them, this could go on forever. The dilemma is if you put snow, Morgan or wend on cov cath team do they score more than Day or Litzler We will never know Also you have the issue of the coaches that vote for these player not seeing the cov cath kids because they are off playing better competition, ie... Cincinnati, Lexington and Louisville teams. How can a coach compare them if they've never played them? So what I'm trying to say is that while every kid that's been talked about is deserving, we will never know how or why the coaches vote for whomever they choose. When I played I'd have been over joyed just to have been mentioned in the same paragraph as these talented kids. So who ever is picked congrats, as for the rest, let it be known that any coach would be more than happy to see you show up on July 15th.

I am new to this site and this thing is a train wreck. Here's what I see: Besides a few people, most people are throwing punches at other programs with no evidence, proof or facts. If you state Hhs, Ncc, cov cath brought varsity players down then name them. If you can't provide us with this information then why should we believe you? The jv tourney was started by the former coach of Grant county. He started this tournament to give jv teams a chance to play for something. There is no way to monitor it nor do any of us have any control over other coaches actions. If a coach feels the need to drop varsity players down then that is his call. We all want OUR own sons team to win but we have to realize that there are just some teams out there that are better, weather its by fair play or bringing down varsity players. No matter who what or where there's always going to be people trying to figure ways to win by any means possible, that my friends is out of our hands. In my opinion, going to bed knowing my kid played the best he could ( win, lose, or draw) is OK with me. Lastly, remember that this is about a bunch of 14-18 year old boys. There are no million dollar contracts or world championship on the line. Have a blessed day.

The home field advantage that happens doesn't have to do with the crowd but the difference in fields. Take St. Henry for example, they play on grass all year for home games, wouldn't it behoove them to host on grass? I just think that playing on a field like NKU would prepare nky region champs a little better for state.

I think the regional tournament should be held at NKU due to the fact it is the same size as the fields that will be played on for state finals. Don't get me wrong the for mentioned stadiums are very nice but are a little smaller than regulation
