About mid way through the season......let's try again.

 

Who stands out......

 

DPY........The entire CCH starting Defensive 4 (Darpel, Thiemann, Austin Flynn, Ryan Massie) averaging under 0.7 goals per game and if I had the time to count shots on goal allowed, I would guess they would lead that stat.......against one of the hardest schedules played...IMHO

OTB84 agree but no way you can leave off the CCH keeper in your post when mentioning 0.07 gpg.

Romes has made many fantastic saves, and as you said Vs some really good teams/players.

At this point in the season it should be down to a few in each category. I would like to see a top 3 OPOY, top 3 DPOY and top 3 GKOY list. No matter how you slice it, it is difficult to get a consensus. Favoritism, homerism, seeing the game through daddy glasses, etc unfortunately plays into it.

I agree.....Hard to do a specific number.....That is why I listed the defense, with numbers to back it up.

 

Also, why I try to stay away from the striker position, if you know what i mean...

Best case senerio there is a voting panel, representatives from each 9th region school. Each member votes for 3 players in each category but can NOT vote for any players from your school.

Tally the votes.

This approach sounds similar to what is used to select players for end of season squads... All Region/NKAC and possibly All State.

However........Maybe one school actually has 2 or 3 of the best players in that category......if they can't vote for their school, it really isn't about the best player.

Suggesting each school has perhaps 5 members on the panel. Believe there are 14 boys HS teams in the 9th region = 70 voting members. Varsity, JV and freshman coach, AD, and you name there other school representative. In theory one player could receive 65 votes in this system. With this many voters hopefully the cream would rise to the top, the best player is collectively and unbiasedly selected.

Mid-season I'd say that Brady Gessenhues is most definitely playing like one of the top players in NKY. He has been particularly effective and still remains a scoring threat even though he's been "buried in the back" for the past couple of weeks. The kid is playing with heart, for his team, and showing all of his talents and assets back there. I hope a college coach catches his game the way he's been playing of late.

Nah, too cheap to buy a pass this year and most of my time is consumed with other more important things. Maybe I can come up and watch from outside the fence sometime.
