  1. I have to disagree that BG is running the same play over and over. I keep reading about them opening up the playbook. If I'm not mistaken BG runs a RPO offense, which provides some very diverse play calling, and with any option offense, depending on the defense it can often look like the same play. I'm guilty of it myself, but with coaches up top, and on the sideline I figure they see more than I do. Then the players have to execute. That being said, BG has had some significant injuries on the offensive side of the ball. With the injuries on the offensive line, I noticed they had switched up some positions there on Friday night. I'm sure they are still trying to figure out who fits the spot best. Time is running short, but I'm confident they'll have it settled in time for the playoffs.
  2. Aside from Dingle and Bunton, I have no idea who the Purples go to. Burwash being out tonight has had an impact on an already under-manned offense.
  3. Flu = 707 deaths per year. We are 4 months from Kentucky's first reported Covid death and we are at 694 deaths. That will be a substantial difference eight months from now. Flu deaths are classified the same way. If you die from pneumonia but have the flu, it's classified as a "flu related" death. It's the same with Covid.
  4. The most obvious difference to me is 4A vs 5A. Second, would be that SW is in a multi-school district and that in itself brings its own set of problems.
  5. Mine did fine during the 4th quarter of the 1A game. No problems during the 4A game. Well worth the money when it’s working. Exciting day’s worth of football so far. I expect the same the rest of the weekend.
  6. Just got home from work, restarted my subscription before checking the thread. Haven't gotten to see any of the 3A game. It just keeps spinning. Can't remember having these issues in the past.
  7. Aside from Lexington Catholic scoring 30-something on them, the most they’ve allowed is 9. I think they’re pretty good defensively.
  8. IMO, Tisdale hasn’t done anything to stand out this season. While he has only played a handful of snaps on offense, defense is his specialty. I think he’s been less than stellar there. Evan Spader is very deserving of this award.
  9. I don’t know the rules of concussion protocol or how that factors in with being off for fall break, but I’m assuming Payne will have to go through protocol.
  10. In a nutshell, this dual QB situation has been disastrous for BG all season. The SW game was very similar the the McCracken game. The offense was stagnant, then a change in the QB position and everything changes. I don’t think anyone can deny the offense looks more dynamic with the Cooper kid. I always say that we don’t know how things go in practice and why decisions are made. But, my opinion? Yes, there should be a change. Plus, Cooper is a junior.
  11. It is my understanding that Max Payne was named the starting QB prior to the South Warren game. However, he did not play the second half due to a concussion suffered at the end of the first half.
  12. Bowling Green and Corbin still waiting.
  13. I know the score was 14-0 when Cooper came in. He didn’t leave the game after that. That’s the only difference I see. Javy Bunton had a great night.
  14. Someone really dropped the ball here. Unfortunate for both teams.
  15. I don’t believe those stats are correct. Those don’t reflect the game I listened to.
  16. Nobody likes to hear the truth, and I'm one of them. Thanks for keeping it real though.
  17. I noticed this, too. I kept thinking why don't they give themselves a chance, he hasn't been in all night, maybe he will be the difference maker. Reflecting on it, there is obviously something going on that we don't know about. Most coaches out there are going to do what it takes to win, except lose their integrity. I guess we need to wait and see how it plays out. If he doesn't play on the offensive side of the ball all season, then there's a reason. I don't know that that will warrant him being removed as a candidate. There is a long season ahead and he has a chance to make a big impact on defense.
  18. I, like you, am just a fan of the game. I've followed South Central Kentucky sports for a long time. The Bowling Green coaching staff has decades of experience, along with 3 former head coaches (aside from Spader). They have coached multiple athletes that have gone on to play college football. I've never been a coach but I believe a staff as experienced as BG's know what they are doing. Obviously, there is a reason Tisdale is not playing offensively. Is it any of our business? Probably not. I'm not at practice so I don't know what goes on. When my son doesn't get to play as much as I would like for him to, I ask "HIM what he's doing to get better. I don't question whether or not the coach knows what he's doing. A coach wants to win games as much as anyone, it's actually their livelihood. So we probably need to step back and trust that they know what's best for the team. Whether we like it or not.
  19. If Tisdale is being recruited by Alabama, Oklahoma, Clemson, Texas A & M, LSU, UK, UL, etc. as a DB, why does he have to have time on offense as a running back to be considered a front runner? There are other candidates on this list that appear to not play both sides of the ball.
  20. The offensive coordinator is Chris Seabolt. Seabolt coached BG's O-line in 2011 and 2012 before taking the head coaching job at Greenwood. BG is not running the option, as Seabolt did at Greenwood. They are running the same offense they ran last year. I'd also like to add that Evan Spader is a damn good football player, along with Javyan Collins, and Javy Bunton.
  21. BG was playing a third string sophomore QB that had been handed the job by default a week and a half prior to this game. BG will have their QB and backup against McCracken. I expect they will look a little better offensively. But hats off to Spencer Newman for playing his first varsity game on the big stage at WKU. He hung in there and gave it his best shot against a very solid FR team. The future will be bright for that kid.
  22. Yeah, I would say having a 3rd string sophomore quarterback in probably changed the game plan a little this week.
  23. Is the KHSAA going to correct this tape delay during the half? It’s very frustrating.
