  1. In our city an officer taxed a teen who had been going prescription melds and red bull. He died of a heart attack. Officer was cleared.
  2. Probably not. The definition of local to the police data was probably just that. It didn't include Rock Hill and SC neighbors because the aren't within their jurisdiction.
  3. I mentioned this earlier, are you aware of the Geography here? Charlotte, NC - MapQuest Charlotte sits on the SC /NC border. The greater Charlotte area crosses a state border much as the greater Cincy area.
  4. Or a lazy network reporter from out of town takes the word of an FOP leader as the authority and reports it as fact. Local reporter know who to really get the truth from and gets the accurate report.
  5. See the above post. Two different sources, told two different networks, two different things.
  6. Some on here have her convicted without due process. Some on here have her exonerated without due process. Sorry if my statement was unclear.
  7. It will be a day in court, but he won't be there.
  8. And some have her in exonerated without due process. Really cuts both ways.
  9. Being from out of state in Charlotte isn't a challenge. Look at the map.
  10. I remember my Senior year we averaged about 28 points a game. That was at or near the top in 1980 for any Boyle team. It's nothing now.
  11. It has certainly been a feast and famine series. The most competitive era was the beginning. 1974 to around 1984. There were some quality games in some of those years.
  12. All I was doing was proving fallacy by a logical approach. Took it in class at EKU back when these thought were taught.
  13. My point goes back to the inference of one and not the inference by some towards the other. I wasn't arguing legality. The premise was, since we found PCP he must be on PCP in this event. If we find a six pack, does that infer He had been drinking?
  14. It was last night and the 2nd night of riots erupted. Maybe they should have spoke out the day before the shooting.
  15. Chaplains Shine Light of Christ on a Dark Night for Charlotte Charlotte faith leaders call for peace after violent unrest | WSOC-TV Charlotte Leaders Lay Out Timeline of Events and Call for "Peace, Calm and Dialogue" "And now we have a challenge here in Charlotte," Chief Putney said. "People are watching how we respond, how we react. And I'm optimistic that the results of our action will be positive, will have positive outcomes. But it's time for the voiceless majority to stand up and be heard. It's time to change the narrative. Because I can tell you from the facts that the story is a little bit different as to how it has been portrayed so far, especially through social media." Mayor Roberts on behalf of Charlotte community and faith leaders called for peace, calm and dialogue. She promised to be thorough and transparent in releasing information about the investigation into the officer-involved shooting as it becomes available.
  16. I don't know if I'm stirring a pot or not here but after these recent shootings we seem to get into the same debates over and again. IF he followed instruction he would be alive. The police officer sensed a threat and took him down. Last winter an outspoken critic who helped hold a wildlife reserve hostage out west drove through a road block, refused to exit a vehicle until shots were fired, and then when he did he made movements that made officers fear he was wielding a gun. But I'm trying to recall the dialogue on here and who thought one was a justified shoot and the other was not? Are they the same type of events? I'm not trying to gauge the looting/protesting responses. I'm looking at the BGP response meter if you will. I've been wondering myself about my own reactions. Any thoughts? Or am I just being obtuse and confusing?
  17. I am using my common sense. She has domestic vandalism against her, drug use and harrassment that has been reported or placed on her record. Did she get away with anymore than that? And yet she qualified for the police academy? Truth is that we all have a bad past somewhere that could be brought up against us. The deceased and the officer. But what matters is what happened in that few minutes on a Tulsa road.
  18. Does the six pack in your car mean you've been drinking it while driving? (Not insinuating you would have a six pack)
  19. Police stated he did. Family says it was a book.
  20. The one place where I would say they were "dis-similar" was that the officer was alone. In that case, I would have understood a quicker trigger displayed than what was. Of course 1998 was a different climate than right now. The Tulsa incident there are multiple support officers which should lend itself to being able to control the situation better. That's the only real difference I see in the two.
  21. Great second half by the Blue Raiders. Congrats to my favorite football player, Keegan Kendrick, #60!
  22. Recent news stated it was set off accidentally by the robot.
