  1. Oldham County has opted out of hosting a tournament this year. Instead they are participating in the E-Town tournament this year.
  2. I was wondering whats everyones opinion on the Top Returning Defensive Players in 5A. Please provide stats to back your opinion up. I want to see what everyone thinks. I will start with my HOMER pick, have to give him his dues. Jacob Ratliff - Rising Senior - Oldham County High School 2016 All-District OLB 2017 All-District SS 2016 Led Team in Tackles (79) and Interceptions (3) 2017 4th on team in tackles (50) but led in interceptions (5) Returned 2 Interceptions for touchdowns 2016 & 2017 1st Team Academic All-State All this while also starting on the Offensive side of the ball.
  3. Well first, Oldham County didnt threaten anything. second, they asked if someone would volunteer to travel and OC did. third, If there is 32 teams in a class, someone has to travel. I noticed there is a 5 team district in 6A? Why didnt a 5A team volunteer to play up in 6A and make even districts?
  4. Ok, baseball and track are almost done (Thank God!!) and football is right around the corner so I need to get updated on who's who for this season. Who is the top Defenders, whats their stats? Do they have Hudl video? Please be positive of the players people list, even if you don't agree. I'm going to start with my defensive player to look out for: Aiden Moore - #5 - Central High School - Rising Junior This kid is a beast. I coached him in little league and he is the real deal. 6'3" - 220 lbs runs a 4.8 Can just dominate a game, they play him interior, end and some OLB. Looking for big things for Pickle (dumb nick name the players in little league gave him) Aiden Moore - Hudl Offensive I will have to go with: Trey McCoy - #7 - Fairdale High School - Rising Junior Very SMART Kid, started half the season as a sophomore and learned by fire. As he continues to develop and grow his name will start to be heard more and more. 5'11" - 172 lbs runs a 4.63 Trey McCoy - Hudl
  5. The Oldham County Dragonstangs Oldham County, South Oldham and North Oldham
  6. Anyone heard in which direction Seneca is headed in their coach search?
  7. lol, one of the AD's of that group came out and said he was not aware of everything they were going to propose and he would vote no at the meeting......... SMH
  8. Great thing I love sports and support the school and the team 100%!!!! ;-)
  9. So here is what it costs to play softball for Oldham County: Player fee $75 OCHS Athlete Fee $120 Game Pants (2 pair) $40 Belt $9 Game Socks ( 2 Pair) $18 Bating Helmet $50 Team Bag $45 Practice Gear $45 Grand Total: $402 so that's $1000 for our 2 kids to play HS Baseball and Softball, uggghhhh
  10. At OC there is a general sports fee that goes to the school of $150. Then there is the fee the team charges, ranges from $75 to $150. Then the players are responsible for buying all the uniforms. Jerseys, cleats, pants, socks, helmets, bags, that of course all are ordered through the same company so they all match. fortunately the sports fee is yearly so her brother has already paid his during football so the second child is only $50 so that helps. So for baseball its $520 and Softball is $280 so we have to pay $800 for our 2 children to play High School Sports...... SMH But to answer your question, yes I think it is common place now.
  11. well the good news is she made the team!!!! The bad news is she made the team ,lol. Here brother is a junior on OC baseball team and it costs approx $600 to play that, just curious on what the cost is for her???? I dont remember it costing this much back in the stone age when I played or coached????
  12. Well, tryouts are tomorrow, we will see what happens!!!!
  13. The second year under Coach Fox will be an exciting one. Offensively they are returning most of their offensive production. Lucas Jones (1000 yards, 7 TDs) and a Trio of receivers, Jacob Ratliff, Jalen Moore & Jackson Deckard (combined 56 receptions, 778 yards & 7 TDs) Their glaring hole will be at replacing Edwards at QB (1263 yards, 16TD to 8 Int. 1 rushing TOUCHDOWN). They have the lefty rising junior Parker Caudill ( 160 p yards & 3 Tds. ) or Tyler Barnes (176p &2 tds.) a rising Junior also who saw some playing time last year. On the Defensive side of the ball is where they should be solid. They return 3 All-District players (Jacob Ratliff - DB, Devin Cancel - DL, Preston Dykes - OLB) and return 7 starters overall. With a favorable schedule the Colonels should be at least 7-3 next year and have a shot at the District title.
  14. Zach Young – WR - Lindsey Wilson - NAIA Alex Roberts – OL/DL - Hanover - NCAA III Ryan Galloway – OL/LB - Mt. St. Joseph - NCAA III Chase Samples – WR - Mt. St. Joseph - NCAA III Isaiah Hale – DB - Mt. St. Joseph - NCAA III Nathan Willey – LB - Millikin - NCAA III :laugh::jump::jump::ylsuper::ylsuper::isurrender::isurrender::clap::clap::taz::taz:
  15. I think offensively she will have no issues. Shes Left handed and has a very good bat and fast. Defensively, she hasn't played in 3 years? Do I think she will get back into the grove and become as good as she was, absolutely, its just those 1st couple weeks I'm worried about, lol.
  16. Whats everyones opinion on this? My daughter is thinking about trying out for her local Freshman team and I'm looking at the pros and cons. She has the option of REC Ball, Middle School Ball or Freshman. She played little league at Prairie Village before moving to Oldham County where she played at North Oldham. Played some travel ball and made some All-Star Teams but then decided to "Concentrate" on Cheerleading. Broke my heart, but that's a different story, lol. So she brought it to my attention this past weekend so I took her to the indoor cages and it looks like she hasn't lost a thing hitting the ball. She said her friends that are already on the team are asking her to play? Should I let her try out or push her towards middle school ball?
