Paris 69 Bracken County 55 (10th Region Class A)
I dont understand what some on here are trying to imply. Crawford did what he always does and that score points and rebound. Nobody on the Paris side could stop him. He owned Clark what time Clark was on him. Got to the rim any time he wanted. Problem for Bracken last night as it has been all season was a bad 3rd quarter. Looking back at their losses it has always been when they had a rocky 3rd quarter. Had all the momentum going into the half and just came out flat to start the second half. Hamilton picking up 3 fouls in the 1st quarter was huge for Bracken. He never got into the flow of the game. The rest of the supporting cast was off as well. When everyone is clicking Bracken can and has been very good. They just need to figure out how to put it all together for 4 quarters consistantly. These two will have a rematch at Paris later this month I do believe so lets see if the adjustment are made and Bracken can get it all going for an entire game. Who know come late Feburary early March they could very well meet again.

Three teams sitting out All-A Classic due to scholarship offerings
I wasnt implying that all parents who can afford private schooling will do so. I know several student athletes that are in the public system that could be going to a private school. All I was referring to is that if ones parents can afford a private school then they also can more than likely affford to send little Jimmy/Jane to the best training avalible to them, therefore giving them the athletic edge over a public school that consists of a hodge-podge of players with many different skill levels. One or two dynamic players mixed in with average to below average players. No doubt in my mind that these private schools will try to help any and all kids get enrolled reguardless of a parents financial situation. Just wonder how much of an effort is made for kid whos parents are not as well off that plays a sport and is very good at vs. a kid who excells in academics? I know I am going to hear that its the same for eithier situation but I've seen that movie before.

Three teams sitting out All-A Classic due to scholarship offerings
True to go to a private school the parents of the child are required to pay for it. The public school system is "free" because it is supported by taxes and what not. I do not know if the same can be said for privates. Public schooling is for the kids whose parents cant afford to pay the cost for their child to go to a private school. Private school is a great thing if the parents can afford it, and usually the better athletes have more advantages and their parents can afford to send the to a private school so in turn that is where alot of talent seems to appear. And if some of the schools are helping with the cost then that only helps their cause to get those borderline kids who parents are not so fortunate. The assistance helps those parents get their children in the private school system.

Three teams sitting out All-A Classic due to scholarship offerings
If I had to guess the reason the boys only was pulled is because UHA girls do not have the obvious advantage in these games. Not to mention there is always more emphasis on boys sports, its just the way it is state-wide. Title 9 was supposed to curve this but hasn't completely worked and if you ever go to a boy girl double header when the boys play the first game you will see exactily what I am talking about. Unless you are a powerhouse in the girls game you wont be proving much of a point pulling those schools, the boys on the other hand now that has and will turn heads. I have no knowledge of this region this is just all guesswork on my part, but I personally do not have a problem with them pulling out. Schedule games in those spots that will help your team. Sounds as if UHA is the front runner in this year in and year out so if all you are doing is playing for second place then why bother? Im sure the same can be said for several regions across the state, but these schools were the first to stand up and say something about it. As we all know the all A has deviated from its purpose over the last 20 years and now most of the time its the same schools going to state every season. So is it really a benifical to play in it these days? Yeah every now and then a school defies the odds and prevails in their region but thoase are so few and far between that maybe this tournament needs some restructuring? Easy solution Classification of all high school sports and while we are at it seperate the privates from the publics.

Paris vs. Bracken County Predictions 1/11/16 (All A Tournament)
^^ Here we go
-
Mason County 77 Augusta 66
I don't think this argument is going to carry any weight. Out of the 5 players only one plays any minutes.

Mason County 77 Augusta 66
Mason is getting wins no denying that. One 25 point loss to Simon Kenton whom got beat by MoCo yesterday. Ive seeen the Royals play a few games this season. They look good at times on the offensive side. They are not the defensive juggernaut that they are made out to be on here. They will get an occasional steal, but their press is fooling nobody. I watched it get beat over and over by Augusta and Bracken. Pig is their best defender I will give ya that, but their are better on ball defenders in 10th. Once you take off the Mason Co goggles and watch a game from an unbias perspertive you will see what I am talking about. Look at thier body of work: Dec 1, 15 Western Brown home (W) 83 - 44 easy home opener win Dec 4, 15 Simon Kenton away (L) 55 - 80 lost to MoCo Dec 8, 15 Bourbon County home (W) 73 - 62 11pt win to the regions #12 team Dec 11, 15 Scott home (W) 93 - 87 foul fest Ohmer gets 35 Dec 12, 15 Woodford County (W) 66 - 60 neutral court vs average team Dec 15, 15 Bracken County away (W) 79 - 74 was a 1pt game under 10sec to go Crawford gets 32 Dec 17, 15 East Carter away (W) 84 - 52 This one went as it should have big win over sub-par team Dec 21, 15 Augusta home (W) 77 - 66 Had multiple oppertunities to blow this one open but couldnt defend without fouling. As long as they keep winning thats great, but as we seen with Scott high you can only go so long before the method of "put more points up" will work. Mason's press isnt great, they are just ok in the man to man, and once the opposition gets by Pig there is no help defense. All a kid has to do is get by their man and they go straight to the rim. Ohmer did it, Crawford did it, and Maddox somewhat did it. Resulting in the free throws. Can't fault the other team for exploiting Mason Co. weakness. Until they show they can sit down and defend without fouling they are going to be in many close games. At some point its gonna come back to bite them. This not intended to be negative. Just an observation from someone with no emotional tie to thr Royals.

Augusta at Mason County Predictions
He plays well in the fieldhouse. Is his shooting percentage really 90% or was that free throw percentage? Or he takes 90% of the Panthers shots? 90% is pretty vauge. If he goes off for 30 and nobody else puts up very many points then it will be a long night for A-town. They need a balanced scoring attack to be succesful. With that said I take Mason Co by 10-12 pts 60-49.

Mason County 79 Bracken County 74
Their was sloppy possessions on both sides. But let's not give credit to the defense or anything. Lol this is free comedy
-
Conner 65 Simon Kenton 47
Is Connor that good? Did SK have an off night? Just trying to put the win over Mason Co in perspective just seems like SK is a good team to get beat like this.

Covington Catholic 76 Campbell County 46
Wow

Mason County 79 Bracken County 74
Just depends on the dreaded draw. I'm sure at some point they will meet again.

Mason County 79 Bracken County 74
Well played game by both teams. It's unfortunate some would wanna call this an ugly win for Mason Co. It's a good win for Mason Co. Gonna be a great district to watch this season. Bracken Co is getting there and once they get over that hump of winning a close game look out. They are learning what it takes to win right in front of eyes

Coaches poll so coaches are the only voters. I guess to them no head to head doesnt count.

Pendleton County 73 Augusta 67
From all early indications on here at least that has to put current #1 Paris as the farorite to go Rupp

Pendleton County 73 Augusta 67
I didnt attend this one but listened to LCDAWGS19 call the game. Sounded as if Pendleton had a game plan and excuted it. Go ahead and allow Maddox to get his but work on other players a limit their scoring. Shutting down the driving lanes and keeping Snapp to 2 points. Agree with the poster about Maddox he is a great shooter, but for this Panther team to be successful its gonna take all 3 of those seniors to have good games. Not like years past where they could rely on one player to carry them in big games. Their games vs Campbell and Bracken are examples of that. When all three play well the win or are right there at the end. If not then like last night they lose.

Bracken County vs. Mason County Dec. 15
Just by looking on the stats posted on the scoreboard Mason Co bigs just dont get after it on the boards. Pig is the leading rebounder with 5 a night. the bigs are only averaging 2 and 3 respectively. On the other hand Bracken has three guys averaging over 5 boards a night. Advantage Bracken, and this may be where the game is won and lost. High rebounds and low turnovers usually spells success. Now it was evident that Bracken has work to do to keep the turn overs down, but Im sure that was a point of emphasis in pratice this week.

Bracken County vs. Mason County Dec. 15
Bracken County I am sure really wants to win this game, and Mason County is by most expected to win this game (by some in blow out fashion). In the Grand scheme of things this game does not mean :poop:. Maybe bragging right between the schools and their respective student bodies that's about it. What should be taken away from this game win or lose is how will it make each team better down the road.

Bracken County vs. Mason County Dec. 15
What part of my post did you not read or not understand? I said neither team has not done anything "yet" to really hang their hat on. Scott was a good win but they damn near blew that. That game being at Mason Co was the saving grace for the Royals. Not to mention all the fouls. Play that game at Scott or a neutral site and I'm not so sure Mason wins it. What gives anyway this is a prediction thread where we give our predictions and reasoning behind those said predictions. Why are you so quick to jump on the posters that pick BC in what should be a good game?

Bracken County vs. Mason County Dec. 15
I consider Scott a good win for Mason Woodford an ok win and WB and Bourbon just a win. Beating Western Brown is nothing to be excited about. And either Bourbon is on the cusp of great things or Mason just beat a mediocre team by only 11 pts. They are in the bottom 3rd of all the 10th region rankings reguarless of which one you choose
-
Bracken County vs. Mason County Dec. 15
Ok what would you call them? Mason only has 1 decent win if we wanna compare wins and that was to Scott at the Feildhouse and they almost blew an 18 pt lead in the second half. The other 3 was a laugher to Western Brown, an 11 pt win over the majority 12th or 13th team in the 10th and most recently a 6 point win over a ok Woodford Co team. I understand you are gonna support the Royals and justify them as an elite team in the region but neither team has really done anything "yet" to turn heads and make people take notice.

Bracken County vs. Mason County Dec. 15
This is probably the best post on this thread. This game is an early regular season game that has little to no bearing on what will happen in February and March. It's a 50/50 game if you ask me. I wouldn't be surprised to see either team win by 10+. Mason Co only decent win out of 4 is the Scott game in a strange game to say the least. Giving up an 18pt lead and with all the fouls in that one. Bracken on the other hand has 2 losses to good teams and 3 ok wins. Getting beat by MoCo at MoCo by only 8 is a sign to me that this Bracken Co team may be better than what they are getting credit for. Double OT thriller to their arch rivals Augusta is another positive for me. That game could have went either way all the way up to the final minute of the 2nd OT. I'll take BC by 6 in this one

PCROradio.com 10th Region Coaches Rankings 12/14
To be honest you can rank the top 10-12 teams anyway you want and justify it somehow right now. The sample size is still too small. If I was to rank teams right now my top 10 would be 1. Paris 2. MoCo 3. Campbell 4. Scott 5. GRC 6. Brossart 7. Mason 8. Augusta 9. Bracken 10. Harrison 11. Pendleton 12. Bourbon 13. St Pat 14. Calvary 15. Nicholas 16. Robertson 17. Silver Grove Now I'm sure someone would say I have this one too high or this one too low and that's fine. Sample size needs to be more. I'd be more than happy to explain why I have a certain team in a certain spot but don't want this post to be excessively long so feel free to ask.
