Hearing the off season is off to an excellent start. They do a really good job working all their kids and developing their depth through the season as well. Lots of coaches, well-organized, and motivated guys. Expect them to have an outstanding football team in 2023.

Pictures of the Lloyd football field
ChiefSmoke replied to theguru's topic in KY Football (High School)
We played the Juggs when I was at Mason. They went from the Steeler look with Coach Tassini to a Pitt Panther look with Coach Lucas. They had some nice ball clubs and it developed into a little bit of a rivalry for us. Had two big playoff games there in the mud and rain, November of 2001 & 2002. Great ballgames. -

Chris Lofton- recruit night video
ChiefSmoke replied to ChiefSmoke's topic in KY Football (High School)
Also.... over the years, have had a bunch of football coaches ask me... "how did we do it? How did you get him to play football?" The biggest factor, by far, was that Chris made it work because he is a high character guy and a great teammate. I had to be flexible with him, but never lowered our standards. Chris has high standards! Chris NEVER took advantage of me when I would do that. He always did the right thing. THAT'S why it worked! -

He was getting alot of football recruiting attention until spring of his junior year, when he announced that in college he would play basketball. I agree with you. -

Appreciate the comments and participation. This past season, did some work/scouting for St. X. Saw some really good football(St. X, Elder, Male, Manual, Ballard, Trinity, etc.) in terms of coaching, scheme, talent, fundamentals. But, did not see anything I would say was "NEW." In fact, three of the best things I saw reminded me of Alvis Johnson's offense (Harrodsburg HS 70's), Bobby Dodd/Knute Rockne's offenses and Ben Pumphrey's offense (Nicholas, Paris, Mason... 1960s thru the 1990's). Yes, football does evolve. But, it is also cyclical.

Absolutely, Travis Egan leaves massive shoes to fill. But, remember this name...Jack Zwernemann. The workouts in June, Jack was through the roof impressive. He is an excellent QB & football player. I can promise you, a bunch of teams across the state would love to have Jack as their QB in 2023. I can also tell you they have good young QBs in the pipeline. Is Bullitt East going to beat Male, X, Manual, & T every year, win a state title?.... NO. No one will do that every year. But, is Bullitt East dramatically different from what is was 5 years ago and will it be a factor, most years going forward?... YES. Coach Kendrick did a super job on our podcast the week after winning the state title. You can listen to that here: https://www.spreaker.com/user/frankfortbroadcast/coaches-office-17
