  1. Pros and cons with every school. The decision is not based on basketball accolades so I would guess BW.
  2. You are correct in the final score, but the game was well over when the rockets put on a little run with just a few mins left in the game. Imo, players on both sides let off gas towards the end, game had already been decided.
  3. Battle of the boarders in Louisville was won by the Kentucky Legends earlier today. I believe all games were won 25+ with the exception of one team.
  4. NKY Legends will be a good team to watch. Could def compete at D1 level
  5. IMO I believe Brossart has one of the better if not the best staff around. I came up under them coaches and we had lots of success in the 90's. I have also installed them same core values in my coaching with success, so the hear Brossart's name in the mix of the things, it makes me smile knowing wherever they have been they have impacted peoples life on and off the court. #TrueLifeCoaches
  6. 8th grade has been a war all year long, with everybody beating each other who are the front runners for each division coming down the stretch?
  7. I believe Beechwood is still the favorite in the small division, with the possibility of having their whole team come tourney time.
  8. Excuses are for those who accept them! A win is a win, you play hard and leave it all on the court. A referee can effect the game with his calls, but he cannot control it. There isn't a team around that doesn't have a few bad apples, weather it be a player, a coach or a parent/fan. CHARACTER is qualities based on the INDIVIDUAL.
  9. Sportsmanship is not just for the player that is playing the game but also for fans who come to support their team or child. All you got to do is have some class when you win, hold your head high when you lose and respect your fellow competitor. It is something that foremost parents and then coaches NEED to teach.
  10. You could care less but you are quoting a 14 year old kid using that info to try and justify your opinions. Jefferson went to Beechwood for many reasons academics, friends and good coaches. Unless you personally know his family and talk to his parents about his future, you are the one being "silly".
  11. Jefferson has played minimal minutes in MOST of these games this season, with the addition of three 7th graders to a very good Beechwood 8th grade team and now you have upgraded. Seems more of a great coaching move to me, with or without Jefferson. If you have seen any games that is a very good team.
  12. What is the record for St. Paul 7th? Seen them in action weeks ago against a great Highlands team, was very impressed even though they lost.
  13. As a former 9th region player, I always thought it funny because it wasn't bothering me and thought that they were wasting their time. You teach kids to play till they hear a whistle, not someone or group ranting in the stands. Now as a spectator I find it hilarious watching the "crazies" knowing that, that player felt just like I did many years ago, but it is funnier now because I can actually focus on "inbound show" and laugh out loud like I wanted to years ago!
  14. Jared Hicks is not a hold back player, that is a fact and not hearsay, but yes it is good to see him get the opportunity to play at that level. Good luck Jared!
  15. 6th Woodland beat BW 7th Highlands beat St Paul 8th Beechwood beat Summit View
  16. I thought we were blogging about the middle school basketball not about the potential of an 8th grader competing at varsity level. He is not the first nor will he be the last IF he does get any varsity. Regardless he will be a problem for the opposition at whatever level he plays.
  17. Everyone has their opinion, however nationally he is ranked 8th of 25 in the nation 13u by aaubasketball.org and 27th out of 30 for the top point guards class of 2020 by coast2coastpreps.com
  18. Would like to know who you are referencing. Names & school?
  19. It just so happens that all of the Legends players are REALLY good, solid players and would be the reason you hear of them over again. FYI... Draud actually played several games with them.
  20. I. Salter, B. Huddleston, C. McGuire, M. McGuire, P. Kremer, C. Jefferson, J. Hryczak, J. Moser, J. Hicks, N. Green, L. Lane, and a couple others I'm not sure of.
  21. Everyone has their opinion, depending on what position you would start your team with. Yet you must have not seen all of the players play in Nky, because there is a player or two in there that play in the small school division, who are as equally good as any 7th grader you may name. (Jefferson and Kremer) both true 13u and would give any player big or small a run for their money, big or small school. They both play for the Legends also.
