  1. I dont know which region will be stronger. What I do know is that we are going to have some very good basketball games in the Louisville area this year. BE plays Male in their 2nd game followed by Butler @ Butler. Should be fun and hopefully when they do the "blind" draw for the State tournament 6&7 will not meet in the first round....
  2. Keeping in mind that I am a Homer.... 1 - BE 2 - Mercy 3 - Butler 4- NB
  3. I said it was my last comment but then you insult me. In my area the charge for open enrollment is no where near the cost of Mercy, Assumption or SHA. So I do know just a little about my area. Thank you again for making this personal. Once again, and read this closely.....I don't care if a kid is recruited or not, on scholarship, sponsorship or work study. We will compete. The initial question was do private schools have a advantage over public schools....in my IGNORANT(your words) opinion they do.
  4. Ok this is my last post about htis topic. I think its great when kids work in the summer and learn the value of money. You want to talk about having to earn. In Bullitt Co the schools provide ZERO dollars to the athletic programs, not even a lawn mower of for heaven sakes gas for the mower. Every uniform, shoe, ball, cap & yes even the bus to the game is paid for through fund raising done by the kids and parents. Our girls have been up at 6:30am everyday this week working camp then playing games after camp. All High School athletes work. As I have said multiple times, I dont care who you have on your team or how they got there. We are going to lace em up and compete.:ylsuper:
  5. RCC9.......why in the world did you start this....LOL:dancingpa
  6. The price public school PARENTS pay for going out of district is nothing compared to what private schools cost, not even close. I am not sure why the private school folks are so upset about SCHOLARSHIPS(they don't give), I mean SPONSERSHIP(which I think they said they do) & WORK STUDY(new to me). Public schools may charge a fee to out of district kids but do not offer work study or assistance in paying the fees.
  7. Absolutely it is an advantage for the private schools. If the need a guard or big they go find them. Speaking of the privates in Louisville that have a history of success and very good coaches, parents want their future WNBA stars to play for those coaches. That being said some of the public schools in Louisville operate the same way with open enrollment. Lace me up and play......
  8. What gets me about this whole this is the consistent denial from catholic school supporters about scholarships or "sponsers( know a kid being sponsored at SHA). Our girls line up and play against whoever is on the other side and compete. Seems to me the parents, as usual, make the excuses for the kids. I wish it where a better system but it is what it is and we deal with it.
  9. Why should all just play in the school district assign and see what happens.......Now that's a idea.......
  10. Any word on who won the "state tourney" at KBA last weekend?
  11. Should be good games in Etown this afternoon. If my information is correct Bullitt East plays Male & Etown at 5 & 7. Not sure which team at what time but the times are correct
  12. April, May & July is for AAU. Most high school coaches are only going to schedule games during the month of June, after that other sports come into play. Some schools like Mason Co will go to these "exposure" events and perform well(team Shively is one). Either with your school team or a AAU club playing against top competition is important. I will say this, playing with you HS teammates during these events is probably the most economic way to go.
  13. IF...and its a big IF any team could beat Etown, it might just be Mercer. They are comfortable lauching 3's quickly and will shoot a ton of them. If they get hot and Etown has any tightness with expectations or first game nerves, then we could have a upset. Ah who am i kidding.......
  14. Bullitt East turned the ball over their first 5 possessions and Butler could only manage scoring twice. From that point BE out scored Butler 17-6 to close out the Qtr. BE never trailed after that but Butler being Butler hit big shots in the 4th rallying from 12 down with 6 minutes to go. Butler had a shot at the buzzer to tie. Bottom line is that Butler could not keep Duval from getting to the rim. The rest of the Lady Chargers played outstanding defense, took care of the ball and created baskets for each other.
  15. Yes 5 years......I think the streak is snapped tonight.....
  16. This snow is getting to everyone, all this will be worked our in the coming weeks.
  17. Dont think any school will compare to the out of state schedule Etown has played. Etown is by far the favorite heading into the post season...
  18. Bullitt East has played/will play 9 of the 20. Currently stand at 1-6 against these teams, end the season at North Bullitt, at Franklin and SHA at home. Then of course potentialto play Mercy in District and Butler, Mercy, North in region play. I think you would be hard pressed to find a tougher schedule in the state(I will not try). Hopefully the experience of playing this type of schedule will payoff down the road...
  19. North Bullitt the first winner by 15 over CAL......Get Butler tomorrow at 6:30
