CCH has the best team in the tournament and playing with the most pressure to win, not an easy situation to be in. CCH handles the pressure, CCH 3 - HHS 0. Not an easy game on this side of the bracket, who ever gets to the final from this side will have earned it the hard way.

Hope the semis and finals are at Dixie or Ryle, not St Henry. St Henry's field is in poor condition. Add the possibility of rain and the St Henry surface deteriorates quickly. Ryle and Dixie both have nice fields, better field lighting, more parking, are both a lot better facilities for the athletes and spectators.

9th and 14th are the only regional tournament schedules not yet posted on the khsaa site. Does it seem like each year the 9th is one of the last to be drawn? Would think the 9th region coaches would prefer to hold the draw asap so they know their first round opponent/more time to prepare their teams. The last two district games in the 9th region were played on Friday night, if I were coaching I would have pushed for a Saturday morning draw.

NCC vs St Henry will be an interesting first round matchup. NDA should get their much anticipated rematch with HHS in semi final. Final match up is hard to predict, NDA Vs ? IMO NCC, St Henry or Boone Co could reach the finals from the top side of the bracket. Allamerican21, do you know the semi final and finals, game times and locations?

From reading the different summaries on here, some by CCH supporters, some by Holy Cross supporters, it could be hard to get a good feel for how competitive/non-competitive this game was. And how much the CCH starters actually played, different opinions by the different supporters. But one thing seems obvious, CCH score 3 goals in the first 12-14 minutes when it is safe to assume both teams had their starters in, with the exception of Darpel who according in the OTB84 "did not play one the entire game". Based on this I'll assume the game was pretty non-competitive.

Not sure what post #5 is trying to indicate, 3-0 score 14 minutes into the game, sounds like it could have been have been a lot larger margin of victory. And if, "Holy Cross does have a pretty solid defense", CCH scoring 3 goals 14 minutes into the game and, "the finishing was not good last night", either equals CCH is going to be a hand full in the 9th region tournament or HC's defense is not as solid as some think. Soccer Coach Wannabe why do you use "it appears"? You say state red cards are public record, are these public records posted on the khsaa site? I hope there is some confusion, hope 23 red cards in 3 seasons is some sort of mistake. If true not sure how anybody, even the loyal Scott supporters can defend this. Certainly the AD and principal have gotten involved right? I know of some schools' administrators that would never have tolerated this to this degree, would have been taken care of it long, long before it ever got to 23 red cards. How does khsaa allow this to happen? I was told a long time ago HS sports is an extension of the class room. How can a school tolerate this as being an extension of the class room? Can a program survive three straight seasons of this?

Most club games the parents/siblings sit 3 yards off the touch line blocking most of the balls from rolling to far away. Same on the other side of the field, the players on the bench grab the balls. Sure time is wasted when the ball goes high or wide of goal but a good club ref will add time if it is excessive. Most HS games don't have the parents sitting close to the field and the bench players are used to the ball runners, so they never make an attempt to get the ball. Personally I never had a problem with my kids having to take their turn being a ball person as a freshman, part of being an underclassman. And since the HS game is more controlled by the very visible game clock (yea I know in NKY the ref has the official clock, they are still influenced by the game clock) the ball runners help keep the run of play going. Would hate to see any school do away with the ball runners.

No doubt completely agree ALL players should be looking to extend their HS seasons for as long as possible. I'm sure NCC's players have character, but they are not alone. A ton of players from a lot of schools have great character. Character alone does not equal a win, but great character does have a huge impact on how you win and loose.

Not poking fun at NCC, and have not heard directly from any NCC players. IMO NCC (up to this point) has underachieved while playing what most would say is a rather weak schedule compared to a typical NCC season. Under these circumstances I suspect there are NCC players (as well as players from many other HSs in similar situations) looking forward to their upcoming club seasons. And I post this after NCC lost to HC twice in 2 weeks. Another reason (taking a loss, twice, to a team you think you should beat) that causes players to say, "club soccer can't get here soon enough."

I've been around the game a long time, almost without exception, each season about this time of the year I hear players say, " I can't wait until club soccer starts back up." A whole host of different reasons why they say this; HS is a long season, 5-6 days a week, big time commitment, looking for a break. Lack of equally skilled teammates on HS team. Lack of equally skilled competition, lack of good competition. HS team is not competitive against top HS teams. Lack of quality training sessions. Selfish play/direct style of play in HS game. Playing out of their normal position, the position they feel most suited for. To name a few of the reasons I have heard from players over the years.

Nice win Holy Cross, you must have NCC's number, HC beat NCC twice in past 2 weeks. Still can't figure out why they played each other twice in regular season. Unlikely, but these two could meet again in the 9th Regional Tournament. Imagine some on NCC must be thinking club soccer can't get here soon enough.

No other person on here has mentioned the allegedly, "the coaches from Montgomery County jawing at the Scott goalie." And loud enough to be heard clear across the field, really? And there have been a few Scott supporters' post and no mention of this. I find it very hard to believe, if any of this is even half true the referee would allow the MOCO coaches to "jaw" at the Scott keeper without giving the MOCO coaches a card. I find post #13 hard to believe.

Pretty sure medical study after study has proven football is a serious health issue/risk. When you have xNFL players committing suicide via shot gun blast to their chest to preserve their brain to prove the damage they received from playing the sport, it say a whole lot. Pretty much answers this question. Football and cigarettes have two things in common. Both have been proven without a doubt they are seriously bad for your health. Both make a LOT of people a LOT of money, for this reason one will never be made illegal, the other will never be canceled/disbanded.

This late in the season it makes sense for Dunbar to rest and avoid injuries to their starters to prepare for a very difficult District Tournament. Decathlon would only work for the footballer if they have weeks to practice every exact step along the events and in-between each attempt they get to have their coach remind them again of exactly how, when and where to run, jump, throw, lift, etc.
