Nope took them 76-78 minutes to score 4 if I remember correctly.

About 10 seconds left in the match to be exact.

Holy Cross does have a pretty solid defense, I did think CCH would wear them down, does not look like that was the case today.

CCH sliced right down the field to score their fastest goal of the year with Griffin Lamb scoring 20 seconds into the match off of a nice feed by I think Day or Litzler. Michael Wessels followed a few minutes later and then Bryce Day made it 3-0 probably 12-14 minutes into the game but I don't recall exactly. Colonels started subbing pretty liberally at that point and I think when game stats are posted it will show they played 22-23 players in this game. Even with that said, the finishing was not good last night. Josh Hildreth I think scored his first goal of the year in the final minute. I do not recall Holy Cross having a shot on goal but they may have had one or two.

Based on groinpull's summary of the game is sounds like CCH called off the dogs very early. Not sure what post #5 is trying to indicate, 3-0 score 14 minutes into the game, sounds like it could have been have been a lot larger margin of victory.

And if, "Holy Cross does have a pretty solid defense", CCH scoring 3 goals 14 minutes into the game and, "the finishing was not good last night", either equals CCH is going to be a hand full in the 9th region tournament or HC's defense is not as solid as some think.

Could be both?

CCH first score was between 20 -25 seconds into the match and then I think again around the 6 minute mark. Bad marking by the HC midfield allowing players to run free through the middle. 3- 0 halftime score and CC didn't really sub much in the first half until about a minute left before half.

 

HC did have I believe 2 decent opportunities to score in the first half. The CC keeper laid out to push the first shot just wide of the post and the second shot was just high & wide right. No other significant attempts if any after that. The HC coach did switch their best defender to striker after the second goal just to have some sped up top but HC was able to play many balls forward with accuracy to allow for scoring chances.

 

The second half CC did sub more frequently. Day & Litzler still had significant playing time in the second half. The last goal by CC came with less than a minute left in the game and the HC coach had already switched out a significant amount of his starters in order to get some final field time for some seniors who normally do not play during crunch time.

Day, Wessels, Litzler, Massie, Lamb did not start the second half. Darpel did not play the entire game......

 

Left to go to hunting camp at that point.......

From reading the different summaries on here, some by CCH supporters, some by Holy Cross supporters, it could be hard to get a good feel for how competitive/non-competitive this game was. And how much the CCH starters actually played, different opinions by the different supporters.

But one thing seems obvious, CCH score 3 goals in the first 12-14 minutes when it is safe to assume both teams had their starters in, with the exception of Darpel who according in the OTB84 "did not play one the entire game". Based on this I'll assume the game was pretty non-competitive.

Stats are now on Khsaa site.....CCH played 22 players.

9th and 14th are the only regional tournament schedules not yet posted on the khsaa site. Does it seem like each year the 9th is one of the last to be drawn? Would think the 9th region coaches would prefer to hold the draw asap so they know their first round opponent/more time to prepare their teams. The last two district games in the 9th region were played on Friday night, if I were coaching I would have pushed for a Saturday morning draw.
