Great game. Defensive battle all game. Henry County scores in the 4th to go up 8-0 with under 4 to go. Bearcats have a nice kick return at midfield. Evan Anderson has a nice run to set up the Bearcats in scoring position. Noah Hammond punches it in and Evan Anderson adds the 2 pt conversion to take it to overtime. Henry County takes the ball first. Mason smith comes up with a big defensive play on third down for a big Henry county loss. 4th down Mason Smith breaks up a pass in the end zone. Walton takes their shot from the 10 yard line. !st down Evan Anderson has a nice carry to put them on the one. Walton tries a QB keeper and is stopped for an 8 yard loss. 4th and 9 to go Mason Smith hits pay dirt to win the game. This was a very exciting game. The Henry County team was huge and played well. This could have gone either way. Walton JV has one more game this Saturday at Beechwood 10AM. They are looking to keep their perfect season record. This should be a tough game. Beechwood is a solid team.

Walton wins in overtime. Undefeated with one last game Saturday against beechwood.

The season is finally here. NKY is looking as tough as usual. Any thoughts on this upcoming season? Wrestlers, weights, teams, etc.

I agree Newport played a great game. In regards to the "I know latimore did play". My thoughts are this. Latimore only playing the first half was unfortunate for Walton. You would have to agree that probably changed the game at least a little bit. Just look at his production for the first half. He rushed for 101 yards the first half. Walton rushed for a total of 194 for the entire game. He had 1 kick return for 43 yards and one interception. So I can't say they would have beaten Newport but you would have to agree it definitely had somewhat of an effect on the game. Imagine if Price didn't play the second half Newport fans would probably argue the same point. Hopefully they will meet up again in the playoffs and both teams will be healthy. Both teams have some really talented players. Good luck to them both.

Was informed last night that it looks like Walton Freshman might play Beechwood on Monday Oct 27th. Walton's last 2 remaining opponents cancelled on them. Hopefully this gets confirmed. Walton Freshman have not lost a game this year. I was at the Cov Cath vs. Beechwood game. Beechwood is a tough team. Should be a good game.

Walton has seniors David Carr and Austin Smith returning from injury this week.

Colton is a solid player. The freshman class has some good kids coming up. Colton Catlett, Mason Smith, Noah Hammond, Hunter Michael just to name a few. Should be fun to watch over the next couple years.

I agree. Latimore is a game changer. If you look at the rushing stats for nky he is #2 behind Armstrong from Cooper. He has 1/3 of the carries and is only 40 yards behind. Considering he is splitting carries with compton who is #3 and the nky touchdown leader. Also neither Compton or Latimore have played much in the second half since Walton has been up 50-0 the last 3 games by half time. The Trimble game will also be a blowout.

Walton is in district 5 2A and the other 3 teams listed are district 6 2A. So we could say regional champ. I believe it will be Walton and NCC playing to see who goes to state.

I would have to agree that a 2A team would have a tough time against the big boys. I am definitely not saying Walton plays near the schedule that the schools you have mentioned played. Not even close. I do however believe that either one of the two players could compete on any team in NKY. Mason Compton is a work horse and Will Latimore is a game changer on both offense and defense. Im not saying they would be tops if they were running behind SK, Cooper, or Cov Caths line but I imagine they would be competitive. I also like Armstrong (Cooper), Johnson (Dixie), Belk (Ryle)

The last NKY sports stats that I have seen have Mason Compton of Walton leading NKY. Mason Compton is also the TD leader with 12. Here are his stats. Mason Compton(Walton-Verona) 99 attempts 650 yards 6.6 average 12 TD's Will Latimore (Walton-Verona) 43 attempts 612 yards 14.2 average 6 TD's In my opinion this has to be one of the best RB combo's in NKY.
