Scott 3 Trinity 2
All Tell, I can only estimate here, but I believe there are around 150 or so men's high school soccer teams in the state. I would also say that an overwhelming number of them are doing everything they can to gain an advantage. Especially teams with a lot of very talented club players like the ones we saw in the Trinity V Scott match yesterday. The bigger problem I see (and I'm in no way giving the refs here a pass) is the parents in the stands, and the coaches on the bench, and then the refs in that order. What I mean by the parents being a part of the problem is the team colored glasses they / we all wear. It doesn't matter what play happens on the field if 200 parents are there 100 for each team you can see where I'm going here. The problem I see with the coaches and by coaches I mean all coaches is when they allow a player or players to throw there arms up in protest, or want to have a long conversation with the ref to pleed there case as if the ref is going to overturn their call. All Tell if you want to call Scott out for that then I agree with you they are often times guilty as charged. The problem however is they aren't alone. I haven't seen a match all year where that wasn't going on with teams on the field including the Trinity V Scott match yesterday. As for our friends and I use that term loosely the REFS, the biggest problem or problems I see with them is the inconsistency from one crew to the next, or when the center ref doesn't listen or seek advice from their AR's who in most cases were in a much better position to make a call. As far as the knowledge of the game I'll give you an example from the NKY, I know this ref from basketball listen he is a great guy however he has no business on the soccer pitch unless he is there to watch. He was calling touch calls as if it were on the hardwood. All Tell and everyone else, As for no one blames Scott for getting away with calls on the field LISTEN as I said earlier there isn't a good team in the state that isn't doing everything they can to get an advantage on a play or in the match. As for the REFS playing a role in the outcome of this match that's nothing more than joke. As I said in the earlier post what's going to be more painful for the ROCKS and there coaching staff is when they see all of the plays they left on the field. Throughout the entire match it seems as if the ROCKS were looking for the perfect play in the midfield. If they didn't get it they just kept backing off and attempting to reset. Where as Scott especially in the 2nd half was attacking at every opportunity they got. And if the perfect play wasn't there they weren't afraid to attack and attempt to make something happen. I certainly hope All Tell your not expecting the Scott team to apologize for SIMPLY playing the match to win. After all this match was a state match with the winner moving on to the final 4 RIGHT. Good luck to the ROCKS as I also said earlier they are a very impressive team. I believe they will look back on this match and learn from their opportunities they left on he field and I can expect that won't happen again. I'm sure we will see them in the post season again next year.

Scott 3 Trinity 2
It was the lack of their ability to aggressivEly attact Scott's defense. The ROCKS had several opportunities in the 1st half to attack and finish. However they to play it safe. That's what really cost them the match it could easily been 2 to 0 at half. So stop spending talking about things didn't really hAve an impact on the outcome of the match.

Scott 3 Trinity 2
All tell I hear what you're saying you believe that Scott was taking shots after the ball was played through. How about when the Trinity players were doing the same thing. Yes they were taking a couple of shots after the ball was played. The difference here I saw both teams doing it where you saw Scott. But I can ensure you the Trinity coaches review the video of this game it won't the aggressive play that the cost the ROCKS the game it will be the lackey of their own offensive agg

Scott 3 Trinity 2
Let me 1st say how impressed I was with the ROCKS. Let me also correct you Scott doesn't have the most Red cards in the state. What I saw today is two teams playing hard and yes both teams were playing aggressive. Please correct me if I'm wrong but I do believe both teams received 4 yellow cards today. I also hope the young man is OK do you have any updates.

Ticket Price Rant
So the family is making the trip down I75 South to Henry Clay to watch a little soccer on Saturday. By the time I calculate the cost of GAS, The cost of taking my wife and my daughter out to eat PRIOR to the match of course, and the LOW LOW COST OF A TICKET to a high school SPORTING event of $10.00 per person. I find myself a little short of cash. If anyone can help me out I would appreciate it. I will be the guy in a blue coat and a sign THAT READS WILL WORK FOR A TICKET TO THE GAME. Signed, All TAPPED OUT!!!

Elite 8: Scott / Trinity predictions
Just checking what if no one scores in regulation, overtime or pks will the winner be determined by the team who receives the most cards, has the most outrageous over the top crazy un informed soccer parents, or to steal a quote from the Campbell County state game (the team with the loudest most obnoxious drunk guy, or the teams AD that offers to pay for half of the price of the other teams ticket cost. Im just asking!!!!

Elite 8: Scott / Trinity predictions
I do agree with you that Trinity will be a serious test. But how do you mean lucky? I'll give you the 1st round of the districts V Campbell or even the 1st round of the regionals V GRC. But are you going to say Bishop Brossart district finals was a walk in the park, how about Montgomery County in the regional finals were they a weak team? How about Boyle County I guess their just another weak team. Or could it be Scott is a legitimate team?

Hey dont forget THE SCOTT EAGLE was injured for the Germany / CCH match.

Elite 8: Scott / Trinity predictions
Tough night both keeps rain and real slick field. Both defense struggled in the 1st half to maintain good footing. 1st half 5 to 4 Scott. 2nd Scott's defense made adjustments to both the conditions and Boyle County's speed.

St Henry 4 Covington Catholic 3
I hear everyone LOUD AND CLEAR. Listen I love the student sections at all sporting events as long as there is no offensive language or other in appropriate gestures. I don't care HOW LOUD THEY GET to me it shows school spirit and pride. I have seen several student sections this year including Covington Catholic. And for the most part they have cheered for their teams and provided a little good humor heckling of the home team. Nothing wrong with that.

Scott 5 Montgomery County 0 (10th region final)
the_pulpit I'm not certain how accurate the SOS rankings are on the Maher site. What is more difficult to swallow is some of the good teams throughout the state not just the 9th region that doesn't make it into the sweet 16 based on tough teams within a certain region. So while I do see your point, the real results will wash out after this week. For example if both the NKY teams move forward and make the elite 8 or the final 4 based on their SOS SH 15TH and Scott 47th what will that say about the SOS. Correct me if I'm wrong they still have to jersey up and play the match right. If SH for example listened to what everyone was saying about how CCH was the best team in the NKY and they really had a nice season bit it was going to be over last Saturday night at Tower Park. Well good thing for them they choose to turn off the noise and get to work. Good luck to both of the nky teams Scott and St. Henry....

Hellbird I agree with you 100% with what your saying. However I don't know what if any conversation the coach has had or not had with this kid. But at this point everyone needs to let this game go and move on. I like you have no dog in this hunt but It does seem that everyone just needs to move on. Good luck to the CRU stay strong and keep fighting...
