I believe Scott, Harrison, Campbell, and MoCo advance with Scott and Campbell playing for the title and Scott going to state. GRC could be a tough test for Harrison and I think that will be the best first round game.

Would love to see my lady bears shock everyone and beat Scott but I think that's highly unlikely Scott is the best team in the region and I don't forsee anyone giving them much resistance.

Mason County being there is an upset unto itself. Prior to the district tourney, the only team in the 39th they had beaten was St. Patrick. Had lost 1-2, 0-2 and 0-2 to Augusta and 0-2, 0-2 to Bracken in the regular season.

Daughter would love to have played volleyball (played intramurals in college and still does in graduate school) at Mason County, but they didn't start the program until a year or two after she graduated (2008).

You are 100% spot on. When i watched them play Augusta in the first round I told the people i was stting with that this Mason team had improved tremendously and would make for an interesting matchup in the finals. And during the finals i told my friend during the 4th set that if Bracken lets this go to 5 they were in trouble.

Mason could have got a better draw. The 37th was stacked this year and its just unfortunate that Mason draws Campbell (who is probally the second best team in the tournament).

Scott and CC meet in finals. Scott wins. No one else has a shot.

While I am keeping my fingers crossed I am very cautiously optimistic. My daughter has been at this for a while now and I have seen some crazy things happen come tournament time. Go Lady Eagles!!,

Scott wins 3-0

25-12

25-6

25-12

Congrats to the Lady Bears on a great season. In the end the hitters for Scott just seam to find the open spots on the court and the blocking tandem of Kallmeyer and Davis made it difficult to get effective strikes. Take nothing away from Bracken Co. I see a lot of potential in those girls

GRC over Harrison Co. 3-1

I don't have scores after game 1 taken by HC 25-22.

However, the report I got goes like this. HC was fast and battled for points frequently enough to win the first game. The 2nd game started out 8-1 in favor of GRC and continued to roll as the tall hitter for GRC proved to be to much for the smaller, scrappier HC.

Congrats to HC on a great season. Congrats to GRC on the win setting up a very interesting match up verses the Scott Lady Eagles.

GRC defeated Harrison 3-1

HC 25-22

GRC 25-13

GRC 25-13

GRC 25-15

GRC's Middle Blockers of Sandra Skinner and Elizabeth Hardiman seem to have the middle take care of (although I though Harrison did a fantastic job of moving the ball around them. Harrison showed tremendous heart and kept battling to the end.

I think Wednesdays game should be an interesting one. GRC has has some great games, but Scott is going to be extremely tough and playing on their home floor will be a HUGE advantage to them.

Scott is an excellant team and i believe they will go a long way. From what i heard my lady bears were some what intimidated early and often. The Scott hitters/blockers are very skilled and hit the ball with authority.

Thanks for the kind words about the Lady Bears. We loose a couple seniors (French,Buser) but will return 4 starters next yr and our underclassmen look to be a very promiseing group. Also our middle school team i believe is going to be very good this season (which gets under way in late Feburary). So the future is bright for Bracken County and the volleyball program. :thumb:

10th Region Tournament continues tonight at Scott HS.

Scott vs GRC at 6:30

Campbell County vs Montgomery Co. at 7:30

If the future is indeed bright as you say, then why doesn't Bracken County schedule more Region 10 teams in the regular season to prepare them for the playoffs? If you want to beat Camp Co and Brossart, you need to play them.

Any chance one of the NKY teams gets beat tonight?

Scott will win, without a doubt.....Campbell should win, but could be upset with a best A game effort from MCHSVB.
