Dixie is host this year. Was told there is a three year rotation in place with Ryle, Highlands and Dixie for the next six more years. -
JV Tournament
Soccer Coach Wannabe replied to Soccer Coach Wannabe's topic in KY Boys Soccer (High School)
The problem is always been and always will be enforcement of any rules. If you ban a team due to violating the rules, you just hurt even more athletes. The KHSAA doesn't care about JV and never will, thus stat reporting won't help here. It really falls on n to the shoulders of the head coach, I personally think the coach would be nuts risking a varsity starters for the tournament. But if the player is a sophomore, starts every JV game and sits the bench to get 5 minutes a game at varsity I believe they should be eligible -
I believe the association is made up of all varsity boys coaches. They must pay a small membership due, and the association provides the freshman tournament, varsity tournament, all region team, and a end of year banquet for the players nominated to the all region team. I believe the association gained its strength and structure from the old Cov Cath coach who built it up in the late 1990's

Who is the favorite this year for the JV tournament? Will Brossart be able to win both titles?
-
The boys coaches association is much stronger, more organized, and work hard to put on the freshman and JV regionals. From my understanding there is no coordination nation between public and private school coaches within girls association. The only way tournaments work is if all schools participate.

Doubtful, unless a coach from a specific team releases it to there players, Cincincinnati Enquirers no longer covers many high school sports except football. KHSAA websites will have posted starting October 10 or 11

Most district schedules will be released early next week. I believe KHSAA policy states they until Sunday to complete district play. I'm pretty sure district 33 still has seeding games left to play

Just saw Connor has a player with 30 goals already this year. would seem to me that 3-0 may be aggressive, should be a lot closer game than people think -

I think Cooper wins 2-0 over Boone. Snow will be a hand full for the Boone defense. Not sure Boone has offensive firepower to keep up in this game. -
Several people I have seen this week, told me the assistant coaches from with in the program are telling people he was forced to resign or there would have been sanctions to the school. It really is bad for the seniors though, as they don't ask for these issues. Are they just going with an assistant coach until the end of the year so the season is so far in?

If I recall, some one stated Snow was marked by Ryle.............how do these two defenders compare to each other? When looking at OPOY and DPOY, these are the times of things that should be considered. -
Went to freshman tournament this morning rumor is that it is all state forced
-
With tournament time approaching, how would you rate the coaches in the region? I have always been a Fan of the St. henry coach.

Bishop Brossart: saw the game tonight, they look like a sleeper in freshman tournament. Also thought Conner played well, they seem to hang a nice freshman core this year
-
Playing top freshman at freshman level: 1. Could be a coaching philosophy with playing freshman at freshman level. 2. It could Be due to numbers, if you look at the ryle website they have 24 to 25 on each team. 3. It could be to keep a strong class playing together for the future health of the program, something we don't see much anymore as teams are in a hurry to rush players forward at all levels.

Top NKY Players (take 2)
Soccer Coach Wannabe replied to Oldtimebaseball84's topic in KY Boys Soccer (High School)
The struggle with voting with awards is too many people only want to compare stats, there are many other things that a player of the year should be, including a leader or a rock for his team. my struggle iif I had a vote, would be how do you vote for any covington catholic defender, when in reality there strength is as a group of 5, not individually. The down side here is they are so good, you don't know how good they are individually. My own opinion, is if a player is voted player of the year, you are station without them that teams overall record is significantly worse. In the case of the covington catholic defense, if you take one player out I'm not sure there overall record changes. Offensively: I think snow (where would cooper be without him up top?) wend, dj sanders, littler, and Morgan are all good too. -
Spoke to a Ryle parent, they said for first time in several years, every freshman has played in every freshman game this year. They have 4 freshman playing both freshman and JV, and no freshman currently playing varsity. also, saw at henry play, and there freshman team is one to watch in the tournament depending on draw.
-
Per a coach from within the association, there is a specific rule. The rule states that a player is only eligible for the freshman tournament or JV tournament if that have pa Kayed in 85 % of that specific teams games at that level. My guess is how do you enforce the rules without hurting other high school soccer players?

In order for the game to be considered a complete game, and to count in the win/loss column in the state of Kentucky, the teams must play an entire first half of soccer. Thus the mercy rule doesn't take effect until halftime. So it is possible to beat a team by more than 10 as long as the goals are all scored in the first half -
Was flipping from channel to channel on my satellite tonight, when I found a college soccer game on BTN network (big ten). Ohio state was playing Cal State Fullerton. Chris Froscahuer, former Ryle High School standout is the starting keeper for the Ohio State Buckeyes this season, his senior year. He made two really nice saves tonight as Ohio State opened the year with a 2-0 win. Great job Chris as you are representing Northern Kentucky High School Soccer quite well.

Ryle Girls Soccer Coach Resigns
Soccer Coach Wannabe replied to Soccer Coach Wannabe's topic in KY Girls Soccer (High School)
All good points, but after research it appears baseball, wrestling, and volleyball have all been then over 15 years, and boys soccer ten those are pretty good numbers. Basketball both boys and girls have been rotating doors
