  1. I really don't think it's important but a few schools and I do mean a few think the following 1.) With the game being broadcast online for free that it takes away from the gate. 2.) With the game being available for reply, it gives other schools a chance to scout and breakdown film. These are the two objections given to us on a weekly basis. Everyone knows that high school football attendance is solid. Fans are going to go to the games regardless of the broadcast. In addition, anyone with a cellphone and a ticket can film the game and scout if you really think about it.
  2. We have done 5 NewCath games for the simple fact that NewCath plays pretty much everyone in the area. We try to cover every team in NKY at least once a year and it helps us out that NewCath isn't afraid to play the best teams in the area year in and year out. NewCath is a gracious host which makes it easy for us to set-up and broadcast. Some schools who I won't mention, will not allow us to broadcast their games. I wish we could cover a few other schools but we go where we can. Sorry if you feel that we are the NCC channel.
  3. The key to beating Highlands is very simple. Run up the middle and stay away from going sideline to sideline. Look back on their losses. What is the common theme? Running the ball up the middle and staying ahead of the chains. Too many coaches want to run sideline to sideline and they are way too fast for this to be effective. With that being said, you need to be able to move the chains. Keeping the offense off the field is the only way to beat them, bottomline. Too many coaches think you need this elborate game plan to beat them and you don't. Less is more in this situation.
  4. This game will be broadcast live on NKYSPORTS.com as the Omega Processing Game of the Week. We will also be doing the SK/DIXIE game as well.
  5. NewCath needs to cut out the mental mistakes completely or this may turn into a Newport rout. NewCath has been in the position before and the tough out of district schedule makes them more prepared for games like this. Tough Defense and limited mental mistakes will equal a win for the breds.
  6. I was there in 95' for the Class A final and I forget who Beechwood was playing that year but the BW QB took the snap with a few seconds on the clock and instead of taking a knee, he threw the ball into the air and the opposing team picked it off. They play however was blown dead by the zebras and BW escaped with the title. The runner-up trophy was left at mid field under protest by the opposing team. That was a wild finish to say the least. Anyone remember who BW played that day?
  7. Erlanger is full of talent and it has been for years but they don't seem to keep the kids at Lloyd. If they can keep the kids in Erlanger and get them to buy into off season workouts, anything can happen. I think NewCath is going to have some trouble getting the kids that they normally rely on down the road due to the tution costs. It could be a three horse race next year with Lloyd, Newport and NewCath.
  8. SK needs to be careful not to look ahead to a potenial Dixie/Ryle rematch. SK should win this game going away. SK will be much more physical at the point of attack. I have seen both teams play and SK appears to be the better team. SK28-LAF14
  9. Yes, you can find them on ihigh or goto NKYSPORTS.com and click on the button to the right of the game.
  10. I am picking Walton to win this one at home. I think Newport might be looking past the Bearcats to the possible 3rd round match up with NewCath. Walton is one of the best coached teams in the area. I think coach Barth will have his kids focused on this one.
  11. Don't be surprised if Adam Wagner is playing QB for the Colonels tonight. The young man will play through the pain if at all possible. Just saying
  12. This could be a trap game for NewCath. They can't be looking ahead towards Newport/Walton winner next week. The Breds need to eliminate the personal foul penalties to have any shot to move onto next week. NewCath needs to have better play calling on the offensive side of the ball as well. NewCath is becoming to predictable on offense and this will be a problem facing well coached teams moving forward. Lloyd can win this game if NewCath allows them to hand around into the second half.
