The Tigers are playing their 1st home game of the season on their new Turf field. Ironton comes into the game at (2-1) with wins over Russell and Amanda Clearcreek and their lone loss to a very solid Wheelersburg Team that hammered the Tigers 42-16. Ashland comes into the game at (1-2) with a very nice win against a solid Raceland Team and two close losses, losing by a total of 3 points to George Washington, WV and Russell. Will Ashlands Jake Long be able to return from his injury to play against his former Tiger Teamates? Thoughts?

I was told by a family member of Longs that the reason he left Ironton was because the Tigers wasn't using him properly. Looks like Ashland is using him even less, at least he got his touches at Ironton. I guess he should have know with Ashland having Baker he wasn't going to get the ball as much.

Coal Groves #70 Pleasants 6'5 270 has committed to play at Ohio University, when Ironton scrimmaged them He lined up in the backfield as a lead blocker a few times. He has the speed to go along with his size to do so. Looks like their Pass Defense will get exposed by Raceland though.

I would expect a close game like last year. Coal Grove has a good running game that can run the time off the clock. Congratulations to Russell on a very nice win against the Tomcats. Did Ashlands Jacob Long get injured in the game? I heard he injured an Ankle and was wondering how severe it is if indeed He did?

Looks like Turpin runs a fairly balanced Offense. Stats against Mcnicholas (which they lost 21-7) was 13/22 passing for 119 yards and 32 Rushes for 123 yards, 3 turn overs killed them in that game with one being returned for a TD. Looking at their Roster, they don't seem to have much size on the line. They return their QB and leading Rusher (a combined 1645 yards of Offense) from last year.

LaSalle is D2 Reg 6 - 2014 La Salle Lancers Football Results / Schedule Ohio went to 7 Divisions last year breaking up D1, D1 went from 121 schools to 72. This decrease pushed several D1 schools to D2, Lasalle was one of them. Lasalle has 513 Boys in grades 9-11

Yes, Covington Catholic is considered a D2 school in Ohio. Moeller gets 6 level 1 points for beating them and 6 level 2 points for every game that Covington Catholic wins. Ohio has 7 Divisions with Division 1 being the biggest schools. Moeller has 697 Boys in grades 9-11

Ironton made a few changes on Defense after last weeks game and it payed dividends this week against Russell. Hopefully it will continue next week against a (2-0) Amanda Clearcreek. Good luck to Russell the rest of the season.

Long is not a receiver, that's one of the reasons he left Ironton in the middle of the season last year. I was told by a family member that Ironton wasn't using him properly, he's likes to run the ball outside not inside. Should be interesting to see how Ashland uses him.

I can't wait to see how Baker and Long in the same back field works out. They will probably be the best RB duo in the Tri-State area not to mention their QB Price who is a threat at running the ball also. If the Tomcats have any type of passing game this year they are going to be a force to reckon with. Good luck to both Teams!!

Warrensville Heights is a D5 school in Ohio which is equivelent to a 2A school in Kentucky, they have 181 Boys in grades 9-11. Warrensville Heights was 0-10 last year and 1-9 in 2012, look for this game to get ugly quick.
