Open Dates

Featured Replies

Unless I'm missing something, the following schools are playing only nine games this season. If you know of a complete, 10-game schedule, please post and encourage the coach or AD to post a finalized schedule on the KHSAA website. If any of these teams have matching open dates, perhaps they could schedule a meeting themselves.

School - Open Dates

Berea - Aug. 22; Oct. 3

Fulton City - Sept. 12; Oct. 10

Fulton County - Sept. 19; Oct. 10

Harlan - Aug. 29; Sept. 5

Henry Clay - Aug. 22; Oct. 31

Jenkins - Sept. 5; Sept. 26

Johnson Central - Aug. 22; Oct. 3

Knox Central - Aug. 22; Oct. 10

Letcher County Central - Aug. 22; Oct. 3

North Oldham - Sept. 12; Oct. 3

Somerset - Oct. 3; Oct. 31

Trinity - Sept. 19; Oct. 24

* - Berea and Letcher County Central opened with each other last year and may be doing so this season, but it hasn't been posted.

** - Some of these teams may have scrimmages scheduled for August 22 and therefore those are not technically open dates.

If Johnson Central and Letcher Central are both open Oct. 3rd then that game makes complete sense.

Otherwise can't see any other pairings making much sense.

I am not sure how this occurs. I knw Frankfort struggled to find a game. That is main reason the scheduled a Florida team. Couldnt get a 10th game.,

Part of it has to do with teams being picky, which does occur, and that's understandable. Several of these schools are near state borders, though, which makes you think that they would have access to even more potential opponents.

As for Johnson Central, they had ten games and then a team from Ohio backed out today.

Looking at the schedules from last year, Jenkins had ten games but there were some changes with opponents dropping and adding and Jenkins ended up short. And like I said, Berea and Letcher Central opened with each other last year and may do so again, it just hasn't been added.

And one final thing: I understand coaching is a long, difficult, time consuming process. But if your first game is in two weeks and your schedule isn't entered into the Scoreboard website, what is the hold up? Coach, AD, somebody?

Johnson Central vs Warrensville Heights (OH) on October 3rd? Or is that not happening

I believe Trinity is playing Cocoa(FL) on 9/19

If true the Rocks have got a real tough game.

Cocoa is the real deal and routinely a Florida Superpower

Johnson Central's AD put an ad on the listserv yesterday saying Warrensville Heights had just cancelled and they were looking to pick up a Week 6 game.
