He sprained his ankle in practice last week. It was the same foot he broke and had surgery on last year. It scared him pretty bad,but they took him to UK sports medicine and they told him he was fine and to come back when he felt comfortable. He had itin his mind that he was not going to play until the first game vs Lafayette. This game was added late and it just did not fit into Oumars mind of him coming back until Saturday. He is planning on Saturday. Btw oumar does not violate team rules that's just the kind of kid he is.

Game played at Bourbon Co and yes they are still playin at Hindman.

Cordia is still without Oumar Keita he will be back Saturday against Lafayette. Cordia guards are freshmen and just needs experience,. They just try to do too much. Cordia jumped up 13 on them in the 3 quarter then their big man Malik Henry picked up number 4 and went to the bench. Without Keita Bourbon Co came back. Bourbon Co has a pretty nice team. They are athletic and can shoot the 3 well. The game was tied in regulation and Cordia had the ball with 15 seconds to play and got a carrying call giving Bourbon the ball. Bourbon missed the shot, Cordia rebounds and the Frazier kid hits a 80 foot shot and they waved it off sending it to OT. Cordia was down in the first OT 7 points with 51 sec to play and tied it up sending it to second OT. Was a good game.

I will say this the 9.99 wal-mart balls teams has to use this year are awful. I think shooting % will be down bad across the state this year. They are really hard to grip. It feels like they are made out of plastic or something.

They only played a half and cordia played without 2 starters Oumar keita is nursing a sprained ankle and did not play and Mo Mo sat out for violation of team rules.

Perry is nowhere close to the top 25 the two boys from JBS were rule inelidigible yesterday. Perry is probably 4 in the 14th.

Well I guess ESPN and VCU and WKU would disagree withe you he was injured all last season not even close to 50% he had a really good summer I look for him to blow up this year.

Whoever did these rankings obviously needs to get out a little more. For one the two boys from perry are not even elidigible!! The KHSAA has ruled them inelidigible. Word on the street is they are going to try and have them ruled under injunction by perry co circuit judge. There are a couple problems with this that perry probably doesn't know. They are I 20 students and the KDE requires 10 G's apiece and that is federal law that fee can't be waived and can only be paid by the parents. Second oumar keta has the number 1 ranking in the state from ESPN in 2018 and 17th nationally (regional) a 4 star player and they have him ranked 8th in the region come on man! Cordia has 3 other kids on their team right now that should be on the list. MoMo Mercedo has a D1 offer from EKU. I guess I understand trying to spread the wealth around but if you are getting the 10 best players there are 3 kids that should not even be listed not counting the two that are not even elidigible. If what I am hearing is true cordia is about to get a super boost back to it's roster.one of their players that is enrolled at another school is on the way back to the creek I won't mention his name until it happens but he will be the hands down the number one player in the region. Cordia have virtually every one back from last year with a couple more good additions I can tell you this they are better than 4th in the 14th.

Trace young is elidigible he was rued elidigible before school went out last spring when he was at cordia. The khsaa does not recognize HP as a school it is only considered club ball so there fore he was elidigible form the last game he played at Apollo.

Anthony Nelson 6'4" guard has several D1 offers middle tenn wants him bad Cincinnati has offered him and UCF. Minnosata has show interest but has not offered yet. Ramon"MoMo" Mercedo 6'3" has offer from EKU. Oumar Keita 6'10" has a lot of D1 intrest LSU has contacted him. He was hurt all last year and did not have much mobility or he could not jump at all but he has gotten much stronger and and will be 100% next year. Malik Henry 6'7" big body last year was his first year of playing and he is a big body and much improved from last year. Trace Young 6'8" really athletic and can really shoot from 3 point range. Kareem McDonald 6'0" great 3 point shooter was only a freshman last year should be a lot better next season Deandrea Reed 5'11"will be a freshman very athletic.can dunnk as 8 th graderGood ball handler and passer he is a slasher. But needs to improve on outside shot. That's about it.

Mercedo has been back enrolled at cordia for 2 weeks now. They return virtually everyone from last year. They only lost chisom and biallas. They will have Nelson,Keita,Henry,McDonald,Mercedo,Young, and Reed. They will be big athletic and quick. They should be the overwhelming favorite to win the 14th.

It's not worth the trouble everybody at cordia including the entire team was glad to see him go. There is a lot of drama that goes along with him not counting a lot of other thing I won't get on here and mention. He is a good player when he decides to show up. Cordia I think got a good up grade to take his place though(Trace Young) I will live with that.

Actually it wasn't the reserves that hit the 2 threes two starters did. At 4:57 the score was 41-52 and Rhodes cleared the bench and just basically gave up. They are having some issues with the seniors right now. They see the end of the road and are just panicking. Cordia at this point of the season has nothing to play for they have already won their state title and are done for the year.

Actually if my math is correct I think that would be a 4/5 tee shirt. The thing I really want to know is how many of Brossarts players are from their district. I think that any private - catholic school should hang their head in shame any time they cry about any school "Recruiting " a player when every player they have has been recruited. I don't have a problem with bringing in players just don't throw stones when you live in glass houses! Maybe Brossart is still mad at Cordia from some of them butt kickings they used to give them in cross country back in the glory days. Just don't try to act like you are above everybody else when you are doing the same thing it makes you out to be a hypocrite. That is just my opinion! With that being said what address do you want your shirt sent to I can cut the sleeves out for you and I guess that will make it a 4/5 tee shirt.

When I played there in grade school both teams sat in front of the stage. But they have tried a combination of things and this seems to be the only thing that works. I never noticed it but the scorers table is not centered in the court it is completely on on one side of the court. If you sit on the front row people walk in front of you all the time. They have done a lot of work on that gym and it looks really good they have give it a complete make over,reprinted the lobby,refinished the floor it looks great I really like the environment there. It is a trip back in time.

Final! Cordia plays much better with Rhodes on the sideline no comparison to last weekend. Glad to see him back.

I will ber there around 5:00 will watch knott co central game and the cordia game after that.

He and his wife just had a baby boy he is at the hospital won't be there tommorrow either. They will probably take another one on the chin. With the absence of him the kids for some reason don't want to seem to listenor play hard for the other coaches it is a mess.

Actually they are far from full strength. Oumar keita is not even50% he says he is about 30% he can't jump and really can't move laterally very good. He is rehabbing really hard but is really a shell of his former self. Rod Rhodes was not there and won't be there all weekend his wife and him just had a brand new baby boy. He will be at the hospital in Lexington for a couple days. Not saying it would have made much ofa difference but I don't think these kids respond to the other coaches like they do him. Rhodes told me he probably expects to loose some games this year he is focusing on the all A . Honestly I my opinion if cordia goes .500 or a few games over it will be a hell of a year with the schedule they play. They only play I think 7 home games and are traveling a lot that I think can take a toll on a young team. They only have 2 seniors and one of them has not played very much.

Keita has been back in body only. Rhodes didn't really want him to play before January but oumar has his mind set on playing so Rod let him play the last 2 games. He is a shell of himself he is probably not 40%. If you look at him his leg is about half the size of the other one. He is going to physical therapy,but he has no lateral quickness yet. Wymt mountain news will have highlights at 11:00 you can go on line and watch it. Anthony Nelson had a nasty dunk on Fitzgerald. Cordia just needs some games together. I think by January they will be really good.

his name is Malik Henry he is actually 6'7" and has worked really hard getting in shape he hasn't played ball in a couple of years he is a junior and has lost 30 pounds since he got here. He had a double double 13 pts 10 reb. I thought cordia represented their self well considering they don't have one of their best player right now Oumar Keita.
