  1. I believe in both. I think the second one is hard to believe without the first one. How could those objects collide randomly? How did the collision create life? Has this happened elsewhrre or just on Earth? IMO there has to be a first mover. In the first one you say "There's no explanation for where He came from..." I believe he is existence, therefore never could have come from anything because He is everything. It is difficult (for me at least) to explain something infinite.
  2. I feel as if I ever try to rationalize atheism, I remember a Catholic teaching (usually Aquinas) that explains it. I think this world is just too complex for there not to be a Greater Being. Jmo.
  3. Love this quote. Sounds funny but hell is what YOU want, heaven is what God wants for you.
  4. Jelly is the sweetest part, never too much. :thumb:
  5. Anyone on here a fan of his or read his stuff? I'm currently reading The Great Divorce and all I can say is WOW. This guy was a genius.
  6. Yes - Believe in God. I must ask, How do you define "Agnosticism?" Perhaps this is a bit extreme, but I think that an Agnostic is essentially an atheist. An agnostic is defined as 'a person who believes that nothing is known or can be known of the existence or nature of God or of anything beyond material phenomena; a person who claims neither faith nor disbelief in God.' For example: Say I ask you, "Are you going to the UK game this Saturday? (4:00 pm at Rupp)" It is Friday at 1:00 pm, you are at home and you will not answer "yes" or "no." It is Friday night before you go to sleep at home, you still will not give a "yes" or "no" answer. It is Saturday morning when you wake up at home, and you still refuse to answer "yes" or "no." Sure enough its Saturday at 4:00 pm, and you are still sitting at home, and therefore the answer to my question was "NO." Similarly I ask, do you (Who is an agnostic) believe in God? On your 20th birthday, you refuse to answer or simply say "I don't know." (still not a definitive "yes" or "no") On your 30th birthday, same thing. 40th, 50th, etc. same thing - no definitive answer. Finally, you are on your deathbed, and I ask you again "Do you believe in God?" You give no answer and die. You never said you did believe in God, therefore you did not, which would make you an atheist. BTW "you" is not anyone on this board in particular, just using the reader as an example.
  7. This is current head coach Kevin Listerman's first year, and he has been there since summer (Correct me if I'm wrong). Think he is referencing Goetz since Holy Cross's rosters of the pre-Campbell era have been similar to Highlands this year, but HC did not get to the region tourney often because Holmes and CovCath get there almost every year for the 35th.
  8. Wow! Defense must have been tight. Congrats to NCC on the big win.. 9th Tournament will be tons of fun this year.
  9. Well, not to keep this thread going, but I think this is worth posting. This is a tweet from (I assume) a Ryle student. I blacked out her picture, name, and @ Handle to avoid any rule breaking.
  10. Other young man is a swimmer. Congrats to both and the other students around here who have done the same.
  11. According to BOKC twitter game is on. I believe all 4 schools that are playing there are on early dismissal but will still play. Heard all other activities in Kenton County School District except game are cancelled. Works for me!
  12. Don't you think if the ball didn't go in the Cooper players or coach would have argued more? The coach discussed it with the refs but that seemed to be it. Having said that, it is impressive that (if the ball missed) they kept their composure and did not go ballistic. Class act.
  13. Heppler's 3 point ball was intended as an oop to Schuh, but fell through the net and was a good basket. I understand but believe it would be difficult for the refs to mess that up. Looks like they got it right.
  14. I personally dislike the age limit. Think about how few players get the oppurtunity to play in the NBA. If a kid is good enough at 17, let him play. Forcing him to play in college, yes it will help him develop, but it will only expose him to a higher risk of injury.
  15. Heard OL Christian Stewart from CCH will be a Tiger as well. Georgetown seems to love NKY players .
  16. This clears it up... thanks. 4 from the 14th. Incredible. Feel for the teams who won't be able to get out of the region come March.
  17. Which region has the most teams from this list? I'm from the 9th so all I know is we've got 3.
  18. I like the way it is with no shotclock. However, it could be a cool thing for players if maybe a few games a year were played with a shotclock. Maybe like championship of some tourneys (not the district, region or state ones obviously). But say the championship of King of the Bluegrass (any invitational really) uses a shot clock. Good preview of college ball for some of the players.
  19. "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres." 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
  20. Congrats to the 3 young men. OL Nick Kathman from Covington Catholic will be joining them there.
  21. Rough housing. Unfortunately when 250 teenage boys are together its unavoidable. That is why Ryle should have moved the poster and/or Student Section. With that being said, an apology should be issued. And it is.
  22. Ruthsatz making gestures? What did he do? I doubt the players hear much of what goes on outside the white lines during the game. And this does not justify it IF Ruthsatz did make gestures at them, but did you hear what the Beechwood section said? I fear I would be breaking a rule if I posted it in here. Btw I know students always say stupid inappropriate things but one cheer from Beechwood in particular was far over the line.
  23. You are right, it is not the Ryle students responsibility. This is where we disagree... You say "doing something wrong." I firmly believe after talking to multiple students it was an accident. And okay, the kid accidentally tore it, so what will Rowe do? He can't un-tear it. From my understanding it was torn at the beginning of the game then not tampered with the rest of the evening. The whole thing is really a shame. Takes away from a competetive night of basketball.
  24. Dean of Discipline and Rowe are at the base of the section (on the floor) watching the game. Something happening 15 rows up is not in their sight unless brought to their attention.
