  1. Agnosticism is essentially the same thing as atheism, sir. As far as I know, an agnostic is someone who "Refuses to answer yes or no to God's call," and an atheist is someone who (in essence) says "No, I do not believe in God." At the end of a committed agnostic's life on earth, they have never answered God's call. They never said yes, so they therefore said no.
  2. Agree with the first part 100%. When you say "all the rules are man made," that is true concerning nations' laws, business laws, school laws, etc. But moral law is put into our souls at the moment of conception and is not man made. It is like a map God gives us to follow that leads us to Heaven.
  3. How do you get do heaven then? Will lustfull and immoral thoughts and going around doing whatever I want and not being concerned with my actions toward others have no bearing on my eternal life?
  4. I would vote for a Catholic as I am one. Regarding the other ones, it would have to depend whether or not they are a Buddhist, Methodist, etc. in both words and actions or merely words. "Standing in a church does not make you Christian any more than standing in a garage makes you a car." So I would say if they are practicing Buddhists, Methodists, etc. meaning the candidates' political views line up directly with their respective religions and those political views conflicted with the teaching of the Catholic Church, I would not vote for them. If they are full, 100% practicing Buddhists, Methodists, etc. and their political views lined up and did not conflict with the Catholic Church's teachings, I honestly don't know. I feel as if that may be impossible but if it were to happen and I felt they were the best possible candidate, I guess I would have to vote for them.
  5. I believe that God only has 1 Church. God said the 4 marks of his church are one, holy, catholic, and apostolic. There is only 1 Church that directly traces it's lineage to the apostles. I believe we are in agreement about moral law coming from God. But for the people who are following this and wondering without posting (I used to be one of you ) know that you can know and practice moral behavior without knowing God. However, we can know moral goodness without knowing God, but we cannot really live the good life, the moral life, without living the divine life. Religion is not a source of morality, it is more than morality. Morality goes you Christ-likeness, whereas Religion gives you Christ.
  6. There is no rule, rather God is the only thing morality could come from. One of the many ways God speaks to us on Earth is via his Church. I recommend Peter Kreeft's "Making Choices: Practical wisdom for everyday moral decisions." I'll probably post some excerpts to support my stance later tonight. I'm assuming that the Christian I vote for is an actual Christian, not just one in name. So yes, I would agree to vote for somebody who is Christ-like (In actions and words, since Christ 'did believe' [in quotes because he actually was] that he was Divine, ie a Christian.
  7. I agree, there certainly are people we deem "better" than others who are non-religious rather than religious. But any elected leader instantly becomes a role model or someone to look up to for many people in this country. Is it important to you that people in this country are trying to be like somebody who does not allow God into their lives?
  8. I understand how you say "if I liked them" as I have plenty of friends and people I like who disagree with my beliefs. But do you not want the LEADER of your country to be a shining example to all? Good person or not I do not think atheists are good examples for our country. While an atheist can be a good person they are not getting the fullness of Truth.
  9. (Assuming you mean post #1 as in the picture) This is a terrible example. Punching someone because they disagree with you is not the correct way to help them to salvation. The story in guru's picture is 100% fabricated so unfortunately that is a bad example to use. snopes.com: Albert Einstein Humiliates Atheist
  10. I like how the whole fight for gay rights is "equaility," but it seems to me that homosexual attraction is more promoted these days than heterosexual. If Michael Sam is gay and wants to kiss his boyfriend, that's none of my business. In the same way if AJ McAaron wants to kiss his girlfriend so be it, I don't want to see it. It's a shame how there are people living on the streets and people are dying for this country every day and media outlets are talking about two men kissing.
  11. As I said before, the only way to get to heaven we (Christians) know of is to try to help others get to heaven. So it may not affect our lives on earth but it could affect our eternal lives after death. Also, if you saw someone doing something wrong would you sit there and let it happen?
  12. I agree - I'm not offended by others beliefs, but maybe the reason people do interject in other people's beliefs is because (at least for me as a Christian) the only way we know how to get to heaven is to try to help others get to heaven. I'm not offended if someone believes differently than me, in fact, I actually may take more of an interest toward them as I am eager to try to help them discover the Truth. PS I also realize I might be taking your comment out of context. If that is the case my sincere apologies.
  13. Minimum wage jobs are not meant for people who need to take care of more than one dependent. Minimum wage jobs are for extra cash on the side or teenagers or a temporary thing until a higher paying job becomes available. (I'm making this up) Lets say you work 6 hours for $10/hr. You earned $60, but you are saying that me and one other person should take 1/3rd of your earned wages? While you are certainly entitled to your own opinion and allowed to believe whatever you want, I am just saying that I respectfully disagree.
  14. I understand that you mean it is indeed a much greater task; however, I would say that the "height" of an accomplishment depends on the individual. For a kid who was cut as a freshman in high school playing D3 ball is a huge accomplishment and testament to the work (or growth spurt sometimes) of him and his family. Julius Randle playing D3 would not be as big of an accomplishment.

  16. Not sure if it was revoked but I think I remember reading about him having an offer from NKU. I'll search the Basketball forum and look soon.
  17. Unfortunately I think it is not out of the realm of possibility. Sad, really, as this country was founded by Christians. Perhaps this is for another thread, but I think its sad how people's political views take power over/form their religious views. I would never vote for an atheist/agnostic because religion is more important to me. But I also think that lots of politics are Christians only in name... I'll end this before I start ranting :thumb:
  18. Surprised to see not a single CCH player on there besides Ruthsatz. I know Nick is good but I don't think they won the Championship 1 on 5...
  19. Congrats to all the players mentioned, this is a great accomplishment and you deserve to be recognized for your hard work. Now, with no disrespect, how in the world are Brandon Hatton and James Bolden on 1st Team and Nick Ruthsatz on 2nd team?
  20. As a coach you go out and do whatever you have to do to win. If the other team is down their best player and attacking that position would help you win, then do it. Whatever it takes to get the W.
  21. Saw this a few years ago on here and thought it was a fun one. If you were to give out the following awards in the state of Kentucky, who would get them? Keep in mind this goes for the whole state, not MVP "of his team," Most Improved "of his team," etc. Instead it is MVP of KY, Most Improved in KY, etc. MVP - Most Improved - Defensive Player - Best Underclassmen (non-seniors) - Feel free to add more.
