Interesting & curious as to why you think you know who I am?? Neither one of my children play basketball for Conner & while I'm still not thrilled with that fact, I accept their choice to participate in other school activities. Because I love the sport, I attend games as a spectator & not as a "disgruntled" parent!! I was giving my opinion on what I feel is Conner's weakness. Check the stats on the # of shots that were thrown up vs. shots made...check the stats on turnovers made late in the game..you will find the stats back up my opinion!! I assume you must be the parent of a player that had one bad game & don't want your kid's skill level questioned!! Conner has talent & no one questions that!! & YES for whatever reason Conner lacked energy at the end of this game!!

Agreed!! Conner's sharp shooters are set shooters & can't/won't shoot with a hand in their face. NDA took full advantage of that which is why Conner only made 2 3s all night. Conner's other weakness is lack of ball handlers!! If Gambrell is out, Conner falls apart. Hicks & Dages are good players but neither make smart decisions at point & that results in turning the ball over!! Maines gets going faster than the ball & Hendrick's is more than capable but doesn't look comfortable in that position. Outside of Hicks, who is another ball handler for JV? Stamm needs more players off his bench to step up to relieve his starters or this season may end like last year!!! I'm still saying NDA/NCC will most likely the 9th Region representative!! Both schools have & play deep benches!!

That could be an excuse but this late in the season it shouldn't be a problem. Even if that was the case, there's no excuse for players taking bad shots over & over or making basic skill turnovers at the end of the game with a win on the line. After watching Conner during some summer league games, I was impressed & convinced Stamm had a lot of young talent on his bench he could use to keep a fast pace without sacrificing the level of competition. I only saw Conner in a couple preseason games so it is possible those bench players just happened to have a good game for the ones I saw since Stamm seems to play only 2 deep off the bench. Everyone knows that a bench can make or break a team & if Stamm isn't confident playing more players off his bench then Conner's future isn't as bright as people thought!! NDA stepped up this game & for them to pull out the win in foul trouble without Ogle & Smith scoring or playing a lot of minutes tells you they are legit!!

Meyers is a beast underneath!! Conner's energy fizzled toward the end & it seemed like Meyers was the only player fighting to win. Conner has the talent to win, but they need to work the lane more & stop throwing up 3's when they aren't dropping!! Conner had NDA down & in foul trouble so they should have been driving the lane to draw a foul or take an easy jump shot. Not sure if Stamm has anyone able or willing to take a jump shot in the lane other than Meyers. Dages has a pretty jump shot but seems uncomfortable pulling up in the lane to take that shot. Teams can't score 15 3s every game, so they need to work on their game in the lane if they expect to go far in the tourney!! Conner will have their hands full with Ryle this week and will require smarter choices for shooting or Ryle's young players will make them pay!! Should be interesting!!

It was a gritty game for both teams but NDA seemed to stay relaxed (even with their foul troubles) drove the lane & took smarter shots than Conner tonight!! Not sure how many Meyers scored but she seemed to be Conner's only points. Nothing long range was going in for Conner & they weren't getting a 2nd shot due to NDA's rebounding. I like Conner as a sleeper team in the 9th region but tonight proved Conner lives & dies by the 3 & if Maines & Hendricks aren't hitting those shots, Conner is hurting!! Nice win for NDA at home on "Grade School" night, too!! NDA is a quality program & I think other schools should think about hosting a grade school night for their future ballers also!!!

Is this game at NDA?? Might be a good one to get out of the house for!!

:irked::irked: "Poor officiating" seems to be the headline for the entire season across the board!! Too many inconsistent calls that vary from quarter to quarter!! I think they are focusing too much on fouls out front & no longer seem to see the walks, lane violations & carries!! In my opinion, those inconsistencies mess with the flow of the game & take the game out of the game!! I realize refs are only human but I still think if they choose to call it tight then they need to continue calling it that way the entire game from start to finish!!

A very worthy young lady!!! This kid is one heck of an athlete!! She gives 120% every second she's in a game whether its softball, volleyball or basketball!! Congrats Brooke!!!

WOW!!! What happened to Conner?? No disrespect to Scott but I thought Stamm's shooting stars would take this one!! Kudos to Scott for ending Conner's recent win streak!! Scott has the talent just needs the confidence & this win might do the trick!! Once again...wide open 9th Region!!!

I saw Murray with Coach Ritchie during LaRosa's Classic & my immediate thought was CC shoots themselves in the foot once again not only now losing athletes to Highlands but winning Coach as well!!! LOVE it!!!

Great win & tourney for Brossart!! They looked tough in every game I saw them play & deserved that championship!! As for the tourney in general, I agree this was an entertaining 3 days of girls basketball. My only complaint was the officiating. In every game I watched, I saw multiple bad calls & extreme inconsistencies! Some games they called it close out front protecting the guards but missed calls underneath for holding & even 3 second calls. The next game they called underneath but nothing up front from walks, double dribble or hand check fouls. Refs can't be blamed for a loss by a team but they can effect the flow of the game!! You know there is a real problem with the officiating when I saw more than one game when both teams had 4 or 5 players foul & more than a few players finishing with 4!! Someone needs to figure out how to ref more consistent because sitting thru the "whistle-fest" for 2hrs is getting ridiculous!! Again kudos to Brossart for overcoming the bad officiating & winning!!!

The NKy teams looked very tough all night!!

I stayed to watch after the Brossart game & was surprised how slow & close this game was after 1st quarter!! Stamm started sending sub's in & that's when things got moving for Conner!! 2nd half, his starters got it in gear & it was game over for Belfry!! Conner can't afford to start slow with Brossart or Shelby Co. or they'll be playing from behind!! I think Conner proved tonight that teams can't focus on the starters because the bench will give them just as much trouble!!

Any predictions on who wins this year?? I enjoy this tourney every year because Stamm does an amazing job getting talented teams from down state!! Makes for some great girls basketball!!

WOW!! That is a bounce back!! Looks like Conner learned a valuable lesson from that Cooper loss!! I still think Stamm has a lot of talent he can use to mess with opponents. Teams can't just focus on their 5 starters & be safe!! I really like what I see from Dages, Frye & Boelter!! Hicks & Vest will give teams trouble, too!! If Conner can make key points at the foul line, I still like their odds for making it out of Districts & on to Region this year!!!

What never ceases to amaze me is how powerful 1 loudmouth parent can rule what goes on the court while 20 other parents can sit back & essentially let it happen!!! This will never happen but could you imagine what a stink it would raise if those players supporting Murray simply walked off the court & turned in their CC uniform?? That high & mighty family would look pretty stupid since there would be no CC team for their princess to play on!!!!

WOW!! I am shocked by this score!! Congrats to Cooper for getting the job done!! Were there many fouls called in this game?? I'm convinced that the 9th Region is wide open & the best free throw shooting team will be the 9th Region champs!!! No doubt Stamm will make this priority #1 for his team or Conner's hopes of making it to Region will be dashed again this year!!

I've seen 5 games so far & not once have I seen a charge called even with perfect defensive position!! It seems they are allowing major battling down low & just a few shooting fouls in lane but hand checks & blocks called all night out front!! Makes for a very slow game!!

I hated to hear about Coach Murray resigning & now hearing the potential reason why makes me furious!! These type of parents that insist they lay the road ahead for their kids are actually ruining their kids!! Every parent thinks their kid is best & not fun to watch your kid sit the bench, but to make a coach leave because he isn't playing your kid is psycho!!! Are these parents going to continue to tell coaches who they should play at the college level?? Have a college coach fired for not playing their kid??? Players "given" game time wind up never getting better because they feel they have nothing to improve while players that "earn" game time are hungry & up their game!! I'd love to see the CC team stage a revolt & refuse to play without Murray!! Can you imagine the problem parent's face if their precious kid couldn't play!!! Priceless!!!

I've seen Conner play in 2 games & they have some serious talent on the floor & off the bench!! They need to improve their foul shooting but no doubt Stamm will have that fixed by tourney time!!! Stamm & his coaching staff have to be excited about what the next couple years have in store for Conner's program!!!
