  1. So no more games at cov cath right?
  2. I actually think they were serious about the number of refs hurt. I'm seeing the same guys over and over again no matter where I go.
  3. 20 refs, someone mentioned it in a post on here but I can't remember where?
  4. Not surprising if they have 20 people hurt and this night was already full of games. Unfortunate but not surprising.
  5. There is a lot of assuming going on here. People reading into things and drawing conclusions. By no means am I saying the Scott players are saints because they aren't there is no denying that, but the cov cath boys I'm sure got there shots in as well. If the way their JV played at the final is any indication then it was given as good as it was got. Take a good look in the mirror people I seem to recall mention that the east central team seemed to think a cov cath kid deserved a red in that game. Was that just hogwash and this is all fact? That said cov cath has a strong future coming up from that team and I wish them luck.
  6. Are we trying to use a single picture to illustrate the dynamics of an active play? Really people, you are better than that. Pictures rarely show the context of anything in soccer. This certainly does not as it does not show the eyes as contact is made. Things could have dramatically changed before the ball reached them. Not saying they did but you all have to know a still picture like this is useless.
  7. Honestly I think the greater number of cards is just the evolution of the game. We now have more highly skilled players on the pitch with less skilled players and these things clash. I also think the refs are more apt to recognize things like tactical fouls and see the professional gamesmanship for what it is. Let's face it you can't go a week in any pro league without multiple red cards and these players emulate what they see at that level. The game of soccer in America is much more physical than it used to be and is finally starting to lose the stigma of being a no contact sport.
  8. So there are a few issue with this. Problem is that in high school it is still called obstruction. So he wasn't right anyway. Second issue is that he clearly knew what the call was regardless of what it was called so the comment was only to be a smart.... well you fill in the rest.
  9. Could be the ref didn't give CCH many cards because he is afraid the their internet army.
  10. I think that we all know both teams can whine the same amount and the cards will be different. It is how you whine that often causes problems. Not saying that was what happened here but that statement doesn't really hold water.
  11. My vote is for Pendleton Co coach. We all know what kind of coaching was there last year and the attitude that the team had. This new coach has taken that team and made them a fairly well balanced team and brought about an sail rounding attitude change.
  12. I think the order is just goofy. It lists both last year and this year it looks like.
  13. Can't get to it on my phone but its on KHSAA website under officials. Disqualification report I think.
  14. So are we trying to say that it made it ok to kick the kid in the head because he supposedly grabbed the guys leg? What difference does it make? How do you suppose the coaches and players would have reacted if the ref said "Well I'm not going to give him the card because you might have grabbed his leg. That's fair right?"
  15. Fair assessment. I don't know as much inside info on then as you. Just seemed like it detracted from some of there play. You have to work the bugs out somehow though.
  16. Haha. Well I guess if they were creative that would work but the standard is to tap the back pocket. If you watch much MLS or pro soccer in general that is where most refs keep their red card. My point is that speculation of how the sequence of events went down is pretty useless. This crew did communicate on multiple occasions if you watched the match and from where I was watching they got the calls that needed to be made. Game was exciting to watch despite the score seeming one sided. Cooper had many chances where they could have swung it in there favor. All the credit to their players and Scott's, no one gave up. Did it seem like both teams had a little bit of in fighting going on though?
  17. You could see the AR who was facing away from you point to his patch? Per chance do you know what the signal is from an AR to call for a red?
  18. Wow. Clearly you weren't watching the same game. Whatever though. In any case I disagree that the ref had anything to do with the outcome of this game. It was decided by the players.
  19. What? The ref had blown the whistle for the foul. The kick was after the play had been blown dead. He just talked with the AR to confirm what had happened. You could hear them talking about it from the stands. Don't get me wrong, I think the guy could have been closer but this was not a slouch red we are talking about here. This was the same guy that did Ryle v Cooper Boone v Ryle and also teaches the ussf courses. Some of the comments I heard from the stands today really make me wonder what game people were watching. The boys decided that game today. The referees simply did what they had to do. It is never good to see red cards but it has to happen sometimes.
  20. Frankly this assessment if the game is comical. That foul you are complaining about did happen outside the box. The player fell in the box and barely at that. The ref also gave the Scott player a good card for this being a tactical foul. The PK that was called for Treadway was also legit. The keeper may have got the ball but the defender blindsided Treadway and crushed him. Also, how manu flops did you actually see? And if so I think he only got 2 fouls called for him the whole match. Overall this was a good example of what big buy soccer looks like. People need to realize that just because there is contact doesn't make it a foul.
  21. I fail to see what's comical
  22. That was pretty much correct. Game went well though. Not really anything else nasty that happened.
  23. Yeah, because I see so many player letting it go when they talk crap to each other.
  24. It doesn't have to be in the box but essentially yes I think that's how it works, unless advantage is played and the goal is scored.
