Augusta 67 St. Patrick 61
Mtown1995 replied to Randy Parker's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Settled for bad shots, took way too many 3s, still struggled a bit from the line, and took a few plays of on defense. Officiating wasn't great, but by no means one sided, refs pretty much let everyone play, however there were a 3-4 questionable calls in a row against st pat that put Augusta on the line and let them pad their lead. Great game all around. If we take anything away from last night it should be that St. Pat is by no means out of the conversation. -
Top 5 Defenders in the 10th Region

Dude its been said that we're not discussing that here, kindly take it to the private messages -
Quite frankly I think its pure crap. They have a legitimate complaint. my school lost to Lexington Catholic in the 95 All A, UHA in the 99 All A, and regularly has to content with Bishop Brossart in our own region . But hello, adversity is part of sports and part of life. You don't just stop playing when you don't like the rules of think others are being unfair. What kind of lesson does that teach your students? Whenever things feel unfair just quit? Also its not like public schools never use questionable tactics to obtain talent. Also many private schools are in the same boat as small public schools and struggle to field team every year, and for many of us the Class A is our only chance to make an impact. If you want to have an on going discussion about how to make the Class A better then I'm all for it. But don't take your ball and go home because you don't wanna play someone. That's the behavior of a 12 year old on the playground. Grow up.

Everyone kind of is, this is high school, can't think of anyone in the region who could lose their best player and be anywhere close to the same team -
That'd be a six hour film :lol2:
-
The 1991 Region with Harrison, Myrick and Johnson at Maysville, and Fogel at Harrison would've been my choice, the Mike Rietz saga lol.

You are given the opportunity to write, direct, and shoot a 30 for 30 for ESPN telling one story from the history of the 10th Region, which topic do you pick and why?

There's a couple guys you could be thinking of, but I imagine you're thinking of Jay Gast. -
I mean no disrespect, Owens was my hero growing up, King blew my mind every time he touched a ball, Bach gave me the two greatest night's of my basketball life. I site them specifically because they were so great, in order to explain how great I believe Austin is. I know that adds pressure but I can't imagine I'm the first. This is a place to analyze basketball teams and players and that's my genuine analysis. I love every player mentioned here to the moon and back, these guys have made me love basketball more than John Wall or Anthony Davis ever could. Guys like this are the reason I follow the game at all.

Assuming Kyle King, Chris Owens, Brent Bach and Austin Crawford are the 4 best recent players in the Robertson/Augusta/Bracken/St Pat rivalry, i'm comfortable saying Crawford will end up being better than the other 3 combined.
-
Maybe not, but he's closer than any of these small school superstars have been in a very long time, and I'll say that standing on Brent Bach's kitchen table.
