  1. Augusta also has three of the best players they've ever had. Coach Kirk is doing very well don't get me wrong, but next season when the cubords are bare will be when his metal really gets tested. St Pat's coaching staff consists of a combat vet who played in two sweet sixteens, a 10th region HOF coach who has already won a 10th Region title as a head coach, and played college basketball and baseball for LSU. a Montgomery County legend who played college ball, a St. Pat legend who won an All A region title as a player and played college ball. A Maysville legend who played in the 1989 sweet 16 and the 1990 All A state tournament, and played college ball, and scored 2500 points in college, and has been coaching at various levels for about 20 years with much success, and a former pro soccer player who also played HS basketball for a top program in Texas. Sorry but in terms of coaching experience, winning experience, and overall basketball IQ St. Pat's head men win every time.
  2. The rest I can't really argue with, I don't make predictions regarding St Pat games as a matter of policy, but I'll tell you it'll be a dandy
  3. Don't think Augusta has a PF or Center advantage, don't think St Pat has a swing advantage, don't think the coaches are tied, think St Pat's are far superior
  4. Heck I'd add Augusta/SPS and BoCo/Paris to that list, crazy season, but come Monday everyone's 0-0
  5. We're ignoring the big question, did Wiggins finally get the minutes he deserves? Don't understand why coach Snapp isn't using such a quality player!
  6. Mike Code no doubt, the Stangs were pretty much out of the conversation a few weeks back, they've since taken down two of the top 3 tea!s in the region, won the All A, and are sitting pretty in the top 5, no argument about this one.
  7. Everyone love to rant about "these damn kids today" but no one wants to take responsibility for doing something about it.....
  8. It could also go back to MaCo's penchent for teaching young athletes that they are above the rules, and that is by no means a new problem, nor is it a problem exclusive to Mason.
  9. Anyone think at least some of the blame for that falls on their parents rather than a basketball coach?
  10. Those, Pig Williams, and Connor Maddox round out my top 5
  11. Allen, Garrard, Jones, and a kid from GRC I can't remember
  12. As long as one of Bracken's secondary scorers have a solid night, Bears by 10+
  13. That happened at our game too, I think he's trying to fire his guys up.
  14. Not sure I'd call this a down year, Campbell, Mason, Scott, Bracken, Augusta, Pendleton, and Paris all have at least one player that will go down as an all time great for their respective schools, Bourbon County's better than they've been in about a decade, Brossart's as good as I've ever seen them, and Montgomery and GRC have solid teams too to bottom even if they aren't at the level those two programs are use to, even Calvary Christian has one of the best teams they've ever had.
  15. Just a bit mixed up, he went to st pat 9th 11th and 12th, mason for 10th, honestly wasn't that good the first time I saw him, but has improved by leaps and bounds since then. His brothers were a force on the maysville streetball scene, always wondered why they never suited up for the royals.
  16. I honestly prefer the parity, while the superstar teams are fun to watch they almost make the region tournament irrelevant. 2013 for example, MoCo was a sight to behold, but it just wasn't that fun watching them rip everyone by 20+ while everone else struggled for 2nd place. But when everyone's neck and neck that's when you get the games you tell your grandkids about. 2010 is the most recent example I can think of. 1991 with Maysville, Tollesboro, and Harrison is probably a better one. Or the late 90s with Harrison, St. Pat, and Brossart.
  17. Excellent point, Augusta is more than capable of proving me wrong. I do tend to get caught up in the environment of Augusta's gym. Best home court advantage in the 10th imo.
  18. Camels by 8, only because its at home, and a town has nothing to stop the big boy. If it were at the panther den I'd take Augusta by 2
  19. Pretty straight forward question. Top to bottom, does anyone ever remember the 10th being this interesting and exciting?
  20. Like I said last night, I believe he could start for any team in the Region.
