  1. Somebody forgot to call off the dogs!
  2. Athletic standards for playing football beyond D3 have exploded. Times have changed. You can play 3 sports, but if you don't have the measurables, you don't get on the field.
  3. The well is dry because no feeder system was developed. Facilities were never improved. The decline of Boone football was simultaneous with the development of feeder programs at Ryle and Cooper. Not hard to figure out.
  4. The kids that Urban gets are natural athletes that are blessed with profound athletic gifts. They already have the measurables needed to be recruited and signed at that level. Most have to make themselves into athletes. The only way to do that is through structured training, specific goals and a plan to get there. That commitment simply does not leave time for another sport. I bet the chart at a MAC school , or an FCS school would look a lot different.
  5. OMG, me and RC are going to agree on something! That is a nice schedule. Not to soft and not to brutal. I thought the Colerains and LaSalles were just too much!
  6. So the lack of communication among members of the crew is by design?
  7. What irks me is when an official is out of position to make a call and does not even consult an official that is in position to make a call, but does not.
  8. Teams spend so much time scouting opponents. They need to scout officiating crews!
  9. Cal and Central were pretty good teams. However, some of the traditional powers in the 9th are having down years and that does impact SOS. Walton is having a relatively down year. The Lex Cath folks rejected our application to get into that tournament, so we did not see that competition this year. SK's level of play has come down a bit, but I believe it was mostly due to playing 5 games in 8 days.
  10. I think the best you can ask for is the same level of officiating for both sides. I believe it becomes a problem when you go out of region and the officiating is familiar with one team, and not the other. See lots of fouls not called, and others called in anticipation.
  11. Walton. Anything can happen in a single game. Like NDA in the 9th, a team having a subpar year that could still end up ending your season.
  12. Do you speak for for HHS programs (non sb)?
  13. You never know who speaks for the program and who does not. Glad to see an ill kid gets so much community support. I've had the experience of a near fatal illness to a child.
  14. The title of the thread clearly indicates intent to humiliate an opponent. Perhaps you should take the HHS lens off and focus on that!
  15. I have no doubt Coach Walz and her staff will handle each game in the same manner she always has ,Mature and professionally. No Doubts!!
  16. The answer to both questions is no. That is the point.
  17. When is it appropriate to foul somebody hard, to the point of incurring injury, because your opponent is determined to embarrass you?
  18. I tend to agree. The time demands of HS Varsity coaching have become, well, unreasonable. It has gotten to the point where people raising their own kids can't do it anymore. Most of the folks you see out there coaching are single with or married w/o kids, or, they have already raised their kids. Both basketball programs have had turnover, but I believe Coach Warner was there for over 10 years!
  19. I agree totally. People in the rest of the state are just much more civil than what they are here in NKy. Must be the location near a big city.
  20. Cooper plays in a district with the other Boone schools. Ryle and Boone have historically had very good programs which means it is going to take some time for Cooper to get competitive. Coach Levandusky probably has the best resume of any coach in the area as she played for Xavier and in the WNBA. Eventually, I believe folks in Union will appreciate her ability and talent will start showing up at Cooper.
  21. Since SK will have played 2 games since this one and Scott one, how about we move on by saying that SK has a great chance to with the 8th region, and Scott has a great chance to win the 10th. Lets celebrate the success of both programs and consider the prospects of Kenton County sending two teams to Bowling Green. Good luck to both teams moving forward.
  22. Spoken like the biased agenda driven SK hater!
