  1. That's why we play the games instead of speculating.
  2. During that scrimmage we were very one dimensional. We are a little more ahead of where we were at this time last year offensively wise. Trinity's D up front is very good. Hopefully we can spread them out and make the LB's honest.
  3. I think Max will see some time in the slot it's the perfect place for him. Good hands, can outrun Lb's, is as good as a RB once he get's the ball. We have a ton of viable pass catchers this year. If Jake can spread the ball around efficiently and accurately we should be very difficult to defend and the run game should benefit from not having loaded boxes all the time.
  4. Numbers were decent not overwhelming. They were a little smaller ( stature teamwise ) than I would like to have for a grueling 6a schedule. You don't get to pick your kids in Hs, play who you got and work at it.
  5. ^ I think this years offense though different will be more dynamic. Qb play is much steadier with another year under his belt. The receiving core is much more solid and advanced with two very good tight ends and a big outside target. We have a ton of quick slots and a thunder and lightning running back duo. We will score, how much? That's the question. We will see if we are up to Trinity's standard.
  6. I agree, but it can also fire up your opposition. So you better back it up!
  7. In the inside run Ryle won 3 scores to 2. Cooper actually held their own in a close effort. When we went 11 on 11 starting from the 40. Ten plays + yardage was kept Ryle won 6 scores to 2. Ryle won the turnover battle 3 pics to 1. The Cooper Qb had a ton of large negative plays ( not all his fault, he just had the ball in his hands, needs to scramble laterally and forward not backwards though). The Cooper running game was stifled for negative or marginal gains a ton. Ryle ran the ball strongly when the oline wasn't hodgepodged. Ryle's passing game caught stride midway through. Ryle looked ok but still need to work on some things. Cooper seemed to lack enthusiasm and was out muscled if I'm honest. Both teams need to put in some good work. Ryle looked like the better team today.
  8. I seen zero injuries on kickoffs last year.
  9. I think Cooper might surprise some folks. They played a ton of young kids last year and that may pay off big this and next season with all the varsity experience those kids have garnered.
  10. Yes, beat Ryle, then Male the next week. They were a solid team.
  11. They only about a 10-15 minute drive from florence/union. I would count them as a nky team also.
  12. A good pass rush or a hand in the Qb's face changes things. 7 on 7 is good to get a grasp on who your athletes are but I would never be too concerned about it. It's a practice tool like anything else, It's only part of the game. Running the ball and play action freezes the lb's and that is not existent in 7 on 7. I've seen all lb's 25- 35 yards down field to cover in 7 on 7, that will never happen in live 11 on 11. The QB has a clear view of the field doesn't have to move or slide, no real drop backs and that is unrealistic. Take it with a grain of salt.
  13. Girls soccer nationwide had more concussions than football did.... Just sayin..
  14. Well... football hasn't started so....:idunno:
  15. Was told we added Elder to the schedule next year at the PIT.
  16. Impressive to say the least..... He obviously is putting in the work... It will definately pay off
  17. What:scared:, wow. That's insane.
  18. Seen him live in 7 on 7 saturday. Passes the eye test, Quick as can be and has a rocket speed burst. By the time they played us they were on their 5th game on a hot day and he played both ways. They didn't quite use him on the right routes to maximize his abilities. ( all short stuff ) Fatigue may have been a factor as most of them looked gassed. They played a majority of their players both ways. you could still tell what an athlete this kid was. Good luck to him on his choices for the next level.
  19. I must have misread, I thought it was he was O first, spotting on D. Yep, just double checked, dyslexic reading ability.
  20. I've seen Huddleston play and imo it's a disservice for him not to be full time defense and part time offense instead of the other way around. He has a defensive mindset and he could really help the D more than the O.
  21. This is true and fatigue definitely was a factor by the end of a long hot day. Our kids gutted it out till the last play of the day. Max effort all the way. There was no quit. Loved the effort!
  22. Meant to add that HC won and I believe went undefeated for the day.
  23. Ryle came in second at the Woodford County 7 on 7. We did not lose a game till the finals. field was: Ryle Western Hills Henry Clay Taylor County Collins Lafeyette LCA Campbell County Woodford County Tates Creek Bourbon County South Oldham I'm sure I missed a few from the other field.
  24. Just got the opportunity to watch their skills and our Raiders play against them today at the woodford County 7 on 7. My opinions and analysis. Offense: Pro's very good speed. receivers were winning outside and over the top. Qb has a accurate arm with enough zip to be better than just good. Con's Didn't seem to want to work the middle of the field much. receivers had very bad cases of the drops. Middle of the road height Defense: pro's had guys that wanted to compete on every play. Breaks on the balls were instinctual and fast. Picked almost everything they got their hands on. Probably the best secondary there today. cons a little soft in the middle of the field. Stature again average. It's always different when you mix in the rest of the team but skill wise they are quick and fast across the board. They did win the tourney today. Ryle was a close second. The outside speed of the WR's was the difference. I expect them to compete if they have a line. They have a quick strike capability that can get you from anywhere on the field.
