Top Nky players by positions
Again, no disrespect to the young man, I hope he gets the offers, so this is for you. Heavily recruited would define a kid sorting through offers right now, trying to decide a top 5 or so. Read an article about an Olineman from Illinois that paired his list yesterday to 4, 2014 kid that has 27 offers. Hopefully this kid will attend some camps and get an offer or two, I looked him up on both Scout and Rivals and he has the size for it.

Looks like my link messing up for some reason. Dumb phone. Will repost later, or I am sure a simple google search will show info. Not hard to find.

Actually, Clyde had it right. I know the rule, I help many kids in the baseball recruiting process. Actual rule is day 1 of classes senior year. Here is a link that breaks it down. NCAA site would say same thing. http://www.ncsasports.org/blog/2012/10/11/official-visits-3/

Correct. Athlete allowed 5 official visits. On official they are on the host school's dime. Big difference. If they are shelling out the cash, an offer is either imminent or already on the table. Even commits take officials to school they have attended. Thats a wine and dine experience,

I see Clyde has already put you in your place. Education is your friend.

Blah blah. Call me when they go on an official visit, or actually get an offer. My grandma could arrange a visit on her own dime, and she has lost a lot of speed over the years.

2013 Freshmen 9th Region Tournament
Got it. Somehow I misinterpreted that, I see it now. You are correct, but I dont think any if them will give up baseball. That said, I certainly could see a scenario in which Stringer hangs up the football cleats, I'm kind of surprised he still plays. No way Combs gives football up. I dont know the other kids.

2013 Freshmen 9th Region Tournament
Keep football away? Why? If its for health reasons, yes. But those kids are all good football players, couple of them are better football players than baseball, and if forced to choose would opt out of baseball. On topic, would love to hear who will bring frosh down. I agree it should not be done if it sits another frosh, but several teams are forced to play 7th and 8th graders due to limited numbers. I have no issue with doing that, all those kids will get their chance eventually to do the same thing.

Northern Kentucky players showing well on Maxpreps
Not a huge fan of these. Who knows how the scorekeepers are? A hit in Maysville may not be a hit in Northern Ky, and vice versa. Several omissions in there as well. Where are the Cov Cath kids? Sure Schreiver makes that list. The three Beechwood kids that are all well over .400? Where is Ryle? They would have several kids make that list. Seems its more of a list made for coaches who care about stuff like that, rather than all inclusive, kind of like the team rankings in which less than half the coaches vote.

Covington Catholic 4 Beechwood 2
Not much O. CF for CC saved two runs, one with arm and one with glove. CC got a hit each from Heppler and Schreiver, BW got 2 from Stringer and one from Suchanek. CC did what they always do, got em on got em over got em in. Not much difference in these two teams.

Who are the Top 5 Pitchers thus far in the 9 Region?
Have to have Jason Suchanek in this list. He is 3-1, his only loss coming to NCC 2-1. He has beaten Highlands, Campbell County and Holy Cross. He also pitches under big prrssure, BWs lineup ia not deep and does not score many runs.

Newport Central Catholic 2 Beechwood 1 (All "A" Regional)
This is a game thread specific to the New Cath game, not a synopsis of the season. Suchanek has been identified as one of the stars of it. The others? Something you would like to discuss about their performance in this game?

Cain and Suchanek were the show. Breds score two in first and make it hold up. BW had bases loaded with 1 out in 4th but Cain struck out two in a row. Also had second and third with two outs late, but couldnt plate one. At the plate, really only a couple stood out. Bartels had a couple hits, one that hit the top of the fence and came back. BW turned that into an out, and a great relay from left to SS threw out a kid at plate. Bartels also came in to pitch last inning or two, and shut down Tigers For BW, Stringer had two hits, single and double, and flew out to base of wall in left. Frosh continue to lead the Tigers, by my count they had four of the 6 hits. . Slusher had the only RBI on a single, and Combs also had a hit.

Who are the Top 5 Pitchers thus far in the 9 Region?
I think the top 5, or at least the perception of the top 5, is going to be consistent on this board, and theyve already been mentioned here. Maybe a different thread, but how about the next 5, the 6-10? I have only been to a couple games, only to watch the Midland kids at Beechwood, so I cannot even begin to make that list.

Bolden Gets Another Offer
Coach Bezold conspicuous in his absence. Is this just a case where he sees the writing on the wall? Can it be long before Thad Matta starts poking his trader face around? Sorry, thats my X roots coming out.

Who's the Best Hitter in the 9th region so far
- Cooper 9 Simon Kenton 3
Dang, I was gonna head to Ft. Mitchell tonight, thought they woud throw Dunn vs Tigers.- Conner 11 Cooper 1
For my money, once May rolls around, this is the team to beat. Not clicking on all cylinders right now, but flash excellence. Brady Mains may be the most complete player in NKy, and Cam is getting healthy.- Scott 10 Simon Kenton 0
Saw a guy wearing a t shirt the other day that read "I still hate Laettner". Guess grudges die slow around here. I dont know Troy Roberts or Jeff Trame, but I hear both are great people. Time to move on.- Attending Tim Tebow in Cincy?
Would like to, but at $100+ for floor and 40+ for "bowl", they have priced themselves out of the market. I love Tebow and everything he stands for, but wish he would stand up and declare this simply outrageous.- Beechwood 8 Scott 4
Per the Perfect Game website. Ethans profile lists 84, that is from last June when he wss 14. Perfect Game is one of, if not the, most prominent sites going. They did not get there by posting eroneous info. Dont see anything ftom Brayden, but he played in that same tourney at East Cobb, the 15u wood bat world series.- Campbell County 10 Anderson (OH) 9
Good win for Camels. Interesting tidbit, Wheeldon is another Frosh and also a Midland Tomahawk, same team as two Beechwood frosh.- Beechwood 8 Scott 4
Kid is big, great arm, and has great feet behind the plate. Add in he is a left handed batter, he is a recruiting dream for EKU.- Beechwood 8 Scott 4
Good. Hopefully the ss from bw too. The two hrs from combs were hit well, but to the short porch. SS hit two bombs to deep part of field, just got caught. I watched him pitch saturday, he is an all around solid player.- Beechwood 8 Scott 4
Really? I thought Stringer was a Simon Kenton kid? During football season, couple of those guys had their panties in a wad over the transfer. That said, i do know the Combs now live in Ft. Mitchell, no longer tuition kids. - Cooper 9 Simon Kenton 3
