Congratulations to Scott County, they have a great offense. An offense I wish we would have ran with the speed we have. Good luck in the Semi's

Sergent had well over 300 all purpose yards. 4 Tds. Great effort.

6A Playoffs: #6 Scott County vs. #7 Simon Kenton
It's not a lame excuse. Anytime you have 5 starters out that hurts any program. Ask SC, they had some guys out when they lost to HC. We were missing 2 OL starters which was completely rebuilt from last yr (no returners). Not to knock any of those boys, the depth was extremely thin. Also Hammock, and another guy who is out for the season. Missing 5 starters technically. Sergent, has had an undisclosed injury all year but appears to be completely healthy for the first time since his Sophomore year.

Nice win for the Pioneers. Lots of unsportsmanlike penalties though that marred this contest. Probably the dirtiest play of seen in 40 years watching HS football. Officials never had control of this game. I get it when emotions run high and you have kids occasionally pushing, shoving etc., which I do not condone, but there were Bryan Station players that were gauging the eyes of the Simon Kenton running backs and QB on the bottom of the pile. Not poking but using their fingers and pressing as hard as they can against their eyeballs. Really, where do they get this from? This is not football. Sergent went out of the game right before SK scored their last TD and never returned because he couldn't see out of his one eye. Pathetic sportsmanship.

State Tournament
Mercy has taken them to 5 sets twice and lost by 5 points and 2 points respectfully. I would say that is very competitive.

Clarify, Farsing should be back, it is not season ending.

6A #7 Simon Kenton vs. 1A #1 Beechwood
Goes well beyond Farfsing as injured players are concerned. There are a number of them. As far as i know he will be playing though. One point in last weeks game SK had the 3rd string RB in the game and 4th string QB (freshman) from the 2nd series in the 2nd half til the end of the game. Apparently # 2 and #3 were already injured going in. Top 2 linebackers were out, one of them being Cogswell. That is a tough situation to deal with no matter who you are, especially HS.

Wow 4th string Qb. Where are 2 and 3?

Simon Kenton/Highlands Updates
Sergent, Cogswell, Hammock, Pernell. Too bad, Sergent was pulling slot duty for first 3 series and then moved back in the back field each of his 3 runs were over 10 yds

Simon Kenton/Highlands Updates
SK's best 2 players out. Both RBs and best 2 linebackers

5A #6 Highlands vs. 6A #7 Simon Kenton
SK has to get a push from their O-Line. They have 3 backs that can take it to the house. 2 of them just need to get to the 2nd level. Offensive line is all new from last year getting better each week. Sergent as sophomore broke school record(Miles Simpson) for avg yds per carry in a season, very illusive and so is Farsing. He had a very good O-line that yr, he just needs just a little space. A lot of times they focus on Sergent and Hammock and that's when Farsing gets loose for big yards. If Highlands gets into the backfield going to be a long night. If they don't, I like our chances A LOT with Farsing, Sergent and Hammock running the ball. Their one slot if he gets loose runs a 4.40. Definitely have weapons, O Line just needs to do their job. Defense, Cogswell and Courtney are amazing. Cogswell hurts people. 205lbs, bench presses 405 and runs a 4.40. Their are others Lecount, Pernell etc... Secondary will be tested especially if we can't get a pass rush. Highlands QB drops in some nice balls to his receivers and they make good grabs as well. Should be fun to watch. Hoping it doesn't rain.

Sk center is really struggling snapping the ball. He has had about 10 snaps either on or near the ground.

Well, looks to be true, Sergent our main RB who also holds the school record for average yards per carry in a season is out .

Saint Xavier/Simon Kenton (Scrimmage) Preview
Believe the Pioneers may struggle a bit on offense, only 3 returning starters from last yr, but the lone O lineman won't be back til Sep and heard another probably won't play tonight which will really hurt. Hope for the best, get better each week!
