Correct. I believe they can now do anything they want in any sport except during the dead period and as long as it is not mandatory. Someone please correct me if I am wrong, but this is how I understand the new KHSAA rule.

You actually raise an interesting question. When a school has an open gym, can anyone from any school attend that open gym? Sorry if this is off the topic or should be in another thread.

:idunno: Who knows. Maybe it is a catholic school thing and they were from a feeder school, or like someone else said they were their own kids.

I have no dog in the fight here, but I find it quite interesting that a Highlands fan is asking this question. Just sayin.

Would like to see it but will be tough to do IMO without Johnson pitching. I know Knotts is a very good pitcher as well but if she pitches they are not as strong defensively. Who would play SS that would be as good as Knotts and cover the ground she does? Again just my opinion. Does Boone have any other pitchers that will be pitching varsity games this year other than Knotts, now that Johnson is out?

Agree she is pretty good, but will she get to pitch any varsity games over Smith? And Smith is only a sophomore. Two very nice young pitchers at NDA.

Thanks Clyde. You and LB must know people in high places from Highlands. But again I ask the question, does anyone know if they are moving to Ft. Thomas? Because if they are not I thought Highlands had a policy for this year that they are not accepting out of district students. Just curious how that works in this case. Not questioning her eligability at all, becasue being a freshman and not playing any other varsity sports at Dixie, she should definitely be eligable. I wish her nothing but the best and a successful high school career.

So Highlands has two pitchers transferring in this year and they had a pitcher transfer in last year too, didn't they? I guess the one last year wasn't good enough? :idunno: I'm sure the new coach and the rest of the team are very excited to hear this.

Very interesting. Must be true as I no longer see her listed on Dixie's roster. This would definitely change the rankings. Can anyone confirm if she has in fact transferred to Highlands? If so I would assume there would be no issues with eligability since she is just a freshman this year. Also, was curious if the family moved to Ft. Thomas. As I recall I thought that Highlands was no longer excepting out of district students.

That is very impressive to have 25 girls at pre season work outs. Any more that are playing basketball or just haven't shown up yet? I assume the large numbers may have something to do with the new coach. Is that correct?

Agree she should be at the very top followed by Moran. Although Moran certainly didn't get the exposure Smith did in high school just because of the high school team she plays for. That is a shame too. I thought there might be one or two on the 10th region list from BBHS too.
