I know in their game against Danville, the Redhounds were their own worst enemy. Has Corbin become more disciplined or do they still have way too many offensive penalties?

Middlesboro has a 3 wins and 4 losses against opponents with a combined 31-11 record (TN team excluded). Sounds they have played a pretty tough schedule, especially Bell and Bourbon.

Danville travels to Middlesboro fresh off a stinging loss to Somerset. Will the Ads rebound or will the Yellowjackets hand DHS their second district defeat?

That is good to hear. The Ads haven't been the same since beating their cross-town rival.

Could be a letdown coming for SHS after last week's big emotional win at Danville. Doesn't really matter though as I see a minimum of a 21-7 win for the home team.

Especially when you have had two weeks and four previous losses to think about it.

Offensively the Ads appeared to be too predictable. While that may save the aggravation of film exchange, it reduces the offense to nothing more than a scout team. They might as well just invite the defensive captain into the huddle. Heck, just shout out some numbers or random colors prior to the snap. At least you can make the defense think there might be a play change. At the end of the day I am an optimist. I did see a glimmer of hope in the second half. If the Ads can regain their focus, make some adjustments, find some heart, and stop giving up big plays, they can at least challenge the Jumpers in November. Now that is a lot to do, but at this point that is all the Ads can ask for. If nothing else they say familiarty breeds contempt. Maybe the Jumpers will be looking a week ahead. It's hard to beat a team six times in a row, isn't it?

That's the sad thing. You just recycle the Playbook and score on the same plays as the game before.

No one of any significance that I can think of other than at one time Marty Jaggers was on this staff. Coach Harp and Coach Perry have been a duo for several years now. Coach Perry had some really good temas at Garrard County back in the day. He started with Sam, left and came back three or so Garrard coaches ago.

Well our annual regular season beatdown to SHS has come and gone once again. There is not much too say about this game except it was total domination by a better football team. To not have any more fight than the Ads displayed is disheartening to say the least. There just isn't enough heart on this Ads team right now and that will have to change quick if this season is going to mean anything. We had not witnessed a performance like this the whole season and I am trying to believe they can redeem themselves. I just don't know if there are enough players that care enough or if the coaches are willing to make the changes necessary to win big games like these. Coaches are supposed to put their players in the best position to win. So perhaps lining up in punt formation every offensive play is the answer. Afterall that it did produce our longest run from scrimmage on the night. May our continued thoughts and prayers be with Will and Jacobi.

I need some time to digest this latest load of crap the Ads laid tonight. I will be a better poster tomorrow trust me. Congrats to the Jumpers. Your defense was outstanding.

I don't know if a kicker has ever been a team's MVP or not, but you sure could make that argument this season. I may be wrong, but I can only recall one kick being returned all season and that was after an off-sides penalty on the Ads.

I can think of a few words that describe recent Somerset teams, soft isn't one of them.

Sure do have some quick healers. I seem to recall the Jumpers had some hurt players last season before one of our games but they miraculously healed just in time, lol! Seriously that is good news. The kids deserve to play in games like these. Sure wish JK could suit up for the Ads.

I would say the same in reverse but I am banking on the fact that the Ads did face a solid 6A defense and have improved offensivey since then. Boyle's defense was solid too even if they were gassed at the end.

Exactly. It is Somerset that knocked the Ads out twice last season. The previous two years were all Jumpers too that set the tone prior to both being in 2A.

Danville has less than 40 on the roster and plays about 25. This game will be no doubt be physical so I just hope it doesn't turn into a Freshmen/JV game before it is over.

I don't see 33 scored on that defense either. I said 21, but it could as well turn out to be a 7-6, 8-7 type of score.

The Briar Jumpers defense is a big concern. The most the Ads have trailed this season is 7 points and have only trailed after half-time twice (Boyle and Simon Kenton). Danville has not faced the adversity of having to come from too far behind and I wouldn't want that experience to come this week. The personnel has changed but the teams know each other fairly well. There is no doubt that Somerset has the mental edge from having four consecutive wins. There are also enough Ads left this season from those previous teams that, if they are fortunate enough to win, I believe will be the difference. Both teams have scheduled well this season (as they should) but that competition comes with a price as most teams are banged up a little this time of the year. Just like I said last week though, Danville will see Somerset's best effort of the season and it is up to the Ads to meet the challenge.

The Ads have to prove they can beat a team that has had their number in recent times. It would help to score early and put the pressure on Somerset's offense. There may not be many drives to start because I feel this will be a low scoring game but Somerset will have to go eighty yards when receiving kickoffs. This is a different team who no one thought could beat Boyle and had their chances against Simon Kenton. The Ads know the significance of this game. I will stick by the Ads. Danville 21 Somerset 7.

Frankfort deserves some props. Not easy winning in places they have won this season (Rockcastle, Green, and LCA).
