Frankfort moves on to the Finals with a 64-17 win over Model. Shauntae Brown had 13 points, 11 assists, and 5 steals with Shanae Brown adding in 14 points, 12 rebounds, and 7 steals in 13 minutes of play. Frankfort plays the winner of Sayre and LCA on Saturday at 6pm.

Sayre takes on LCA in one semifinal, with a 42-39 win over Berea. Tonight Frankfort plays model to get to Saturday's championship game. Thoughts on tonights game?

Frankfort is a "no frills" group and there is no better place than the FT. WRIGHT RESTAURANT. Of Course, that might be the best thing for Beechwood for the Panthers to fill up on the MONSTROUS double deckers.

This is the problem and always has been with this site. Your response to my comment about running up the score was quite immature. Clearly it is not the most clueless, that one falls on comparing Beechwoods speed to Frankforts. However, I simply stated that Beechwood has had a history of lop-sided games. If you actually do follow Beechwood then you know of the building I speak. To be honest, I'm not talking only about the games in the last two decades, my experiences can go back to the times when they were handing it off to Geno Terry. The fact remains that Beechwood and Frankfort have a few teams on their schedules that stuggle to keep up with even their 2nd teams. Not much anyone can do about those games and as a coach you certainly cannot ask your kids to stand down. The great thing is that on friday night, the "disrespectful and undisciplined" Panthers will come to Ft. Mitchell for the right to play Mayfield.

The Southwestern Panorama is this saturday featuring 12th region teams vs. outside teams. The Southwestern vs. Frankfort game should be a good one to watch.

Being from Northern Kentucky, we should refrain from mentioning Beechwood and running up the score in the same sentence. You just had to see the old building where the past scores were displayed to get an understanding of their stance.

Bellevue will suffer against the speed and athleticism of Frankfort. If they can't "ground and pound" and control the clock, Frankfort will run away with it. 55 - 13 Panthers win.

Frankfort should have another solid year and be a contender in the 11th region and All A. They return one of the best players in the state, Shauntae Brown, and a solid experienced group that can go 10 deep. Should be exciting to watch again this year as they build on a 20-5 season. Franklin Co. as well as Woodford return strong teams, district games should be battles.

Would leave me wondering too if Frankfort had to go thru 5 and 6A schools but being an A school they do not. Frankfort has the speed and athleticism to match up with anyone on the outside but Bigger schools have Bigger folks in the trenches.

Just wanted to know if anyone has a schedule for the state AAU tournament this weekend. KBA site claims to have schedules up for the tournaments early but they don't.

I would think that the new principal would want to get this out of the way so they can focus on the school over the summer. That said, it would be easiest to hire from within. If Thacker was the choice they would then have to hire a girls coach. Suppose that starts it all over again on the girls thread.

No problem being corrected, Mcraycraft. If he attended some practices and games that is a big change from his time at Frankfort and that is a good sign.

I think the talk of good coaches not being able to cross over is ridiculous. Based on my experience teaching and preparing players to play the game are the same. Both have teenage issues to deal with just different subject matter. If coach Thacker wants to make the jump, his time with building the girls program should be more than enough. That is why he deserves it. As far as Coach Wise goes, he needs to understand that a high school program does not start with the freshman.Just because you bring up middle schoolers does not signal involvement.

Thacker is the obvious choice, if he wants it, he deserves it. Not sure Barton has enough experience to take over the program yet. Let Wise and Mefford ride off into the sunset. PLEASE!

I would say that no matter the process some player is going to be left off. Shauntae Brown: 14 ppg, 6 rpg, 7 apg, and 5 steals per game. Coming back from a torn ACl and was All County Player of year, 11th region team, 11th region All A, McClean All Tourney, Schools All time leading Scorer and Assist leader. Led her team to best record in school history 20-5. She too plays for a team where her twin averaged 10 ppg and 10 rpg, as well as 3 other players scoring near double figures. There are a lot of great girls that we should get out and see, the girls game has changed.

Having good players left off is part of the process. Coaches are sent ballots and asked to vote for their top 10 players. Evidently in Sandlins case, not enough coaches sent the ballot in, coundn't imagine they didn't know her. I see too that Shauntae Brown of Frankfort was left off. County player of the year and All 11th region team. I think she was the only 11th region teammember to not make it. To make matters worse for her a girl not the POY or on 11th region team was selected. Go figure....

Actually it does narrow the field. You would be amazed how many coaches throughout the state do not teach full loads. I can remember all of the "BIG" names that applied after Frank Watson retired andhow many of the "Big" names pulled out or were turned away because of the teaching demand.

You have to remember, if you want to coach at Dunbar (Fayette), you have to be a teacher. This narrows the candidates tremendously.

Right.... If not for those two, FCHS would have dominated the 11th. A big LOL for that statement!
