Sure thought Sandlin from Walton Verona would have gotten an invite. Seriously, how is she not on the list? She is probably the best junior in the 8th Region if not the best. Just don't understand it. Can someone enlighten me?

I agree. I thought they didn't have anyone from the eighth but then I saw the player from Grant(I do't think I have seen her play). I thought, surely she is not better than Sandlin from Walton. IMO, big mistake not inviting Sandlin.

Having good players left off is part of the process. Coaches are sent ballots and asked to vote for their top 10 players. Evidently in Sandlins case, not enough coaches sent the ballot in, coundn't imagine they didn't know her. I see too that Shauntae Brown of Frankfort was left off. County player of the year and All 11th region team. I think she was the only 11th region teammember to not make it. To make matters worse for her a girl not the POY or on 11th region team was selected. Go figure....

I would say Sandlin had an exceptional year: 32nd District tourney MVP; 8th Region tourney MVP; All 8th Region team; 8th Region All A tourney MVP; and All A State tourney MVP. She led WV to the district, regional, All A State championships and a berth in the Sweet 16. Pretty solid year for any player.

Sandlin is invited to try out. Not sure why she was left off list, but she did get invited.

"Justice has been served". Now it's up to her.

Is this for girls that are Juniors now or are going to be Juniors next year? If it is for girls who are juniors now I would have liked to have seen Jordan Scott from Conner selected to tryout. I'm looking for her to have a big Senior season in 2012/2013.

It is for girls who are currently Juniors. I'm not familiar with Jordan Scott from Conner. What was her stats and accomplishments?

Jordan Scott averaged around 10 points and 7 or 8 rebounds a game. She is a very athletic young lady who runs and sees the floor very well. She has a nice outside shot and also can take the ball to the hole aggressively.

Stats per Cincinnati Enquirer:

Jordan Scott 7.9 PPG, 8.4 RPG, 1.4 APG, 1.9 TO/G, 2.0 SPG, 0.5 BPG, 36.8 FG%, 65.4 FT%, 29.4 3P%

From what I saw, Jordan is a strong player, good size, maybe 5-10 (?) and put together. Solid but not outstanding numbers on a balanced team as a junior but definitely capable of more as a senior. One particularly impressive number for Jordan this year was 3.3 offensive rebounds per game. That's good work!

I would say that no matter the process some player is going to be left off.

Shauntae Brown: 14 ppg, 6 rpg, 7 apg, and 5 steals per game. Coming back from a torn ACl and was All County Player of year, 11th region team, 11th region All A, McClean All Tourney, Schools All time leading Scorer and Assist leader. Led her team to best record in school history 20-5. She too plays for a team where her twin averaged 10 ppg and 10 rpg, as well as 3 other players scoring near double figures.

There are a lot of great girls that we should get out and see, the girls game has changed.

Is there anyone willing to comment on Sunday's tryouts at Georgetown College? How'd things go - just wondering?

Congrats to Emily Fox Lincoln Co. Lady Pats on being selected in the top 18 girls for Jr All-Stars. You are very worthy of that honor and should make the final cut of 12 girls and represent Lincoln Co and the 12th region proudly.
