Junior All-star Tryouts

Featured Replies

Sandlin was invited but declined.

Heard she went to her sister's college graduation instead of trying out for the team. Somewhat surprising but not shocking.

Who made the cut?

Courtney and her sister are very close. Her sister supports her all year long. So it is not surprising at all that Courtney would want to be there for her.

Way to go Courtney!

I'm sure they are unrelated events, but it is interesting that Taulbee also did not participate in the senior all-star tryouts. Two very significant honors in all for two deserving players, but not any participation from either. Unfortunate.

Heard that Taulbee decided to go to EKU on a full academic scholarship and not play at the next level.

So, yes, unrelated events! As said in earlier post, Courtney attended her sister's college graduation. If it would have been at any other time, she would have been at try-outs. I know Courtney is very honored by the invitation.

To be sure, there are more important things than basketball, and it's good that it's being learned at an early age. Family first. Maybe next year when it counts the most.
