I still find it very amusing that people are critiquing Warner for going back on his word over this game when their head coach has gone back on his word for a scholarship program. The hypocrasy is endless. Warner is doing what he thinks is best for his program. I am sure the game will continue in the future.

There was no contract signed. Dale Mueller is the AD at Highlands, why wasn't there a contract signed? Untill a contract is signed, teams can change their minds and do all the time. However, it is very rare that anyone has tried to keep their Potter money. As a matter of FACT, it has never happened.

How many schools who have no tuition or out of district ability in their enrollment can say they have had a winning record for the last decade, including two twelve win seasons and an appearance in a state finals. What do you call someone who promises a gate to a scholarship fund and goes to a meeting and tells the association that he is keeping the money? I don't think I have to worry when I am talking about the truth. I didn't say criminal because he is not keeping the money for his own use, but I don't mind calling him someone who goes back on his word. Prior to the Tom Potter, no one charged for scrimmages. He promoted it as the Tom Potter and promised the money to the association. What exactly do you call not following through?

He just walked into the last coaches' meeting in NKY and told the association, after he had promised the gate and promoted the scrimmage between them and Trinity as the Tom Potter classic, that he was keeping the money from the scrimmage because his gate was down due to lack of NKY scheduling. Maybe that is the reason Coach Warner chose to end the game. He might not enjoy being associated with people who take money from a scholarship fund. Who knows? Of course, his claim was that nobody from NKY played him out of district. Now, unlike at the time of the meeting, he will be correct. Ryle has played Highlands six times the last four years on both the varsity and JV levels. Of course, this doesn't change the fact that he is going back on HIS word and keeping money from a scholarship fund.

You are incorrect. The cut block happened, and the tackle was not a horse collar. The Ryle player tackled him by the back of his jersey only, not the back of his shoulder pads. By rule, you are allowed to tackle by the top of the back of the jersey, as long as you don't have the shoulder pads, which the Ryle player didn't.

Agreed that this statement is ridiculous. The better question would be why the defensive end from Trinity is not in this mix. Is it because he plays defensive end???

Not true. Ryle lost the game because they threw a 96 yard touchdown interception and a scoop and score for a toughdown after the insuing kickoff creating a twenty point swing. It had nothing to do with England not playing.

Thats true, but Conner has also had a weak schedule. They are very inconsistent, having lost to Dixie and South. Their playoff competition will also be weak until the state finals.

They have been both 4A and 5A. The point is that they have not been able to get it done against the top in either division, and they won't playing teams like Heath. The fact is that their AD had a game scheduled with Ryle both last year, and through this year's session. When he took it to the coach he refused both times. That is really sad, since Ryle is at 3-3 this season. They certainly aren't world beaters. This decision per the AD had nothing to do with travel.

How about Highlands, Cov, or Ryle??? If you want to be one of the best in 5A beating 3A schools is not going to get you there. Bowling Green, John Hardin, and Cov Cath all realize that fact, and they are who you have to beat in 5A. As far as a bus ride goes, you have no problem paying a 1A team from the tip of Western Kentucky to take a six hour bus ride for a beating. Come on, Matney is not interested in getting out of his comfort zone. BTW, if you feel like Breathitt is the competition that will get your program ready for the playoffs, you have no idea of the level of competition you have to beat.

There is a flat difference in the two athletes, and their competition level. I do believe Quick should have comptition for this prize, but that it is within his own team. I am also in no way a Trinity fan.

I believe he is saying that in order to be an elite 5A school, you will have to beat good 4A, 5A, and 6A competition. This will not happen if you choose not to schedule these teams during scheduling times. He is on the listserve looking for smaller schools to play, and refusing to schedule good teams. Most Eastern KY teams are not 5A. Do you want to compare your schedule to 3A, 2A, and A schools?

Mr. Football is the best football player in the state. No offense to Timmons, but when he was a Freshman he was losing to teams like Pendleton County. James Quick was catching touchdowns in the state finals and winning state in the 200. There is no comparison between these players. Does Timmons have his choice of SEC offers?? Why would you try to compare these players? It is unfair to Timmons.

Seems like you are not knowing what you are talking about. Ryle has had a freshman get in ONE play of varsity football in the last three weeks. There are a few freshmen that dress, but they don't get on the field except for a rare occasion.

He has had multiple opportunities to play good competition that he is refering to in this statement, including teams from NKY. However, he has chosen not to play these schools, yet beg for small schools to pay him on th listserve. They paid a huge amount of money for a single a school from Western Kentucky to play them in the opening game last season who had went 0-10 the year before. Is that good competition???

I would like to see Lloyd win, but I don't think they will.

I agree.....that statement is ludicrous. SK has put a good number of kids into college football in the last decade.

Campbell County would take the over $3,000,000 a year they would get from the state and federal government, due to these students attending their school system, build the facilities and hire the teachers necessary to privide these students with an education. You did make your choice and your private institution is responsible for providing its athletes with athletic facilities. BTW, they would certainly be able to afford it. Every student that doesn't attend and chooses another route cost the district money. They don't save the district money.
