  1. Take advantage of your free public education, go to school, attend college, graduate, and move. I know many who have done just those things. Acting like breaking the law is the only option is ridiculous. It is the easiest option.
  2. Why worry?? Your President will keep you safe. Safety and security of Americans are his top priorities.
  3. This is simply an act trying to hold Americans hostage by threatening their domestic security. Why not cut entitlement programs. Prisoner release should not be an option for cuts.
  4. Are you saying Highlands was down? Conner lost to Cov that year who won state 7-3. The previous season before that loss Highlands won state. Dale has built Highlands into something bigger than it was before he got there, but lets not act like Highlands was down when he took over the program.
  5. Why should a child in a womb not have individual rights. A woman's individual rights should end when it impedes on the rights of her unborn child. Why is abortion not murder when our court system honors it as a double murder when someone kills a pregnant woman? Another source of irony.
  6. I would call it protecting life. I don't think a woman should have any more right to kill a baby inside her womb than I do to kill someone I don't like. The biggest irony that I find is that the left is for a woman's right to murder the innocent, but against societie's right to kill a convict. It has never made sense to me.
  7. Lets not forget the option of making people labor to recieve welfare benefits.
  8. That is not a bad idea at all. There is no reason why prisoners shouldn't be used as needed labor. They cost us a fortune.
  9. That is simply not true. These large produce coops use illegal labor with illegal wages to increase their profits. The market will determine the price set for produce, and if there is no other option to obtain substance such as dependancy welfare, we will have a very large labor force willing to work in such jobs for minimum wage. The key is, as I stated, illegal immigrant reform needs to mix with welfare reform. You will not have the needed work force if they are subsidized through our tax base to continue not to work. Also, immigrant reform need to include harsh enough penalties to not make it worth crossing the border illegally. Of course, these would have to be very harsh not to make it worth trying to leave Mexico in its current condition. I do know that rewarding people for crossing the border will increase illegal border crossings, which is what we are doing now. I also believe our current administration likes this fact due to the reality that they have been capturing this vast pool of potential new voters through these policies that are hurting our nation. As far as Mexican labor goes, we have been issuing seasonal worker green cards for years. Why not continue that practice, as extra labor is needed, while upholding our current immigration laws with proper punishments?
  10. Your point would have a lot more substance if we were facing any type of a labor shortage in this country. Instead, we are facing an unemployment crisis. Of course, to make it worth becoming a laborer, immigration reform would have to go hand in hand with welfare reform.
  11. How about Gary Dearborn at Franklin?
  12. This has been a story locally for a while. Our justice system has failed if this woman serves no jail time.
  13. The Cowboys changed the prototype. So did going to more zone style running schemes over the entire league.
  14. If someone can be forced by anyone to abort their child, then we have lost liberty and respect for life in this nation. Legal guardianship doesn't give someone the right to do many things to a child. Forcing abortion should be one of those things.
  15. I agree, but I am sure you can also agree that someone will eventually make some ridiculous argument that the line needs to be moved to fit their preferances once it is moved to fit someone else's preferenaces.
  16. The unbalanced increase in the price of gas has led to the unbalanced increase in the price of domestic goods in the last decade.
  17. No, workers deserve a raise in pay when they provide their employer greater benefits by having them as an employee, thus making them more difficult to replace. Don't take the minimum wage and be happy, make yourself a more desirable employee. There are many ways to make this happen, even in laborer positions. Perhaps you could be more productive per hour than the employees willing to take your position for the same wage. The markes sets wages based on this premis. BTW, how many jobs do you actually know of that pay minimum wage that are not retail cashier jobs?
  18. I would even go further to give it a name called capitalism. If you don't like your wage, go somewhere else. If they can replace you easily, you weren't worth a higher wage to begin with.
  19. If you are willing to work for the wages you make, you are not underpaid. Companies are supposed to make billions off of their workers. I don't understand why you would think otherwise.
  20. That is where many states set the limit. I have heard people say it has to do with the ability to produce children and a family, but we all know that is available. I think is still comes down to societal acceptance. The point is that it is a state's decision without an Amendment. I will remind you again, however, that some who I consider to be total freaks will argue that other types of relationships should be open to the same benefits. Where should the line be drawn?
  21. Not at all. I am simply saying that there are a whole other group of people in the world that claim their love is real and should be accepted by government standards. I already stated that it is a much more extreme case, but many states choose to draw the line between a man and a woman. Until there is an amendment changing that they have the right to do so. It is also a gay person's right to boycott someone who has an opinion that doesn't support their cause. However, I don't see it being very effective.
  22. I see your point, but doesn't a civil union come with certain government benefits? As it is defined now, most states feel like marriage, or a civil union, should be between a man and a woman. Opening it up further could see weirdos wanting a civil union with a goat they own, and wanting the benefits that follow. I know that would be an extreme case, but there are reasons that the institute of marriage comes with some tax benefits that many states don't feel should come with a same sex marriage.
  23. I am simply basing it on personal experience and gun show attendance. The last show I attended involved guns flying out the door. Most of them were new, and all of them sold in the booths were background checked weapons. People who are new to the industry usually go to an advertised, known dealer to inquire about and purchase weapons. This info was taken when people flocking to the gun ownership world for the first time was very light. Now we have many people in our courntry and our state making their first weapon purchase a black rifle. Sorry for the cross term, an AR15.
