Scott Co./Lex Cath Updates?
34-25 at the half. Portwood and Birchfield are the big players for Scott Co. tonight. Lex Cath sounds like they are playing sloppy and in a bit of foul trouble at the guard position. Smart and Stewart need to start hitting some shots they haven't done much so far.

Announcers said play got chippy a bit and someone bumped him and he reacted.

Botkin will most likely pick up the point guard play some with Stewart. Both can handle the ball.

Madison Central @ Lexington Catholic Updates???
Its always been a great head to head game and while Madison Central hasn't been as up this year as in the past I still expected a bit of good competition.

Who has the #1 basketball program in the State?
Read my original post, I believe unless it was an oversight that I included them in there. I don't think their region is nearly as good as say the 11th, just as I don't personally think Mason Co's region 10th is as good as the 11th, or 7th. However, that doesn't mean that I think their team isn't good. I just wasn't as impressed with the regional title streak.

Who has the #1 basketball program in the State?
When I think Ky powerhouses in the past I guess twenty years or so I think Scott Co., Lexington Catholic, Ballard, PRP, UHA, Warren Central. Paintsville was there throughout parts of the first ten years, Mason Co. has really been a force since Lofton began as a young player, Male had its big years, and even Bryan Station has had seasons throughout this stretch where they really impressed. However, Scott Co. has been impressive it seems like every year for the past 15 at least. Lexington Catholic competes in one of two top regions in the state year in and out and is always in the talk of top five teams. Ballard and PRP really haven't been as up in the most recent years but in the '90s i knew of few other teams. UHA is the top small school in my mind and Warren Central is tough however the stat of 6 straight region titles isn't as impressive to me because I don't find their region as competitive as some. I do think the three semifinals appearances and two title game appearances are pretty big achievements however.

Lex. Catholic @ Scott County 2/16
Think I'm gonna make my first ever trip to Scott Co.'s gym that I can remember anyways. I won't predict anything other then a great game between two top teams. Lex Cath plays good team ball and when Smart and Stewart hit their shots it really makes this team go. Scott Co. will need to involve their big men which I'm sure is their plan and really work the ball down in the paint. Considering both teams usually run wide open games I'm excited to see this.

Lexington Catholic 46 Clay County 44
Maggie Wilson is going to be a big key to this team next year. They will be down but they have some good players returning who can at least keep them competitive. Danielle Corbett is a junior I believe who has shot lights out against some of the better teams on Lex Cath's schedule this year and will be called on to step up. Mcghee I believe is a sophmore or junior for the team this year and a good defender and undersized but very athletic forward. Their final consistent player who will return next year is Annagale Scott who is a good ball handler and defensive player. This group is young but has gotten some good playing time this year. They also have a group of younger height on the bench and it will be interesting to see how these girls do next year. Only one plays at all this year but they are going to be raw and a bit down next year.

Lexington Catholic 46 Clay County 44
That is a suprising prediction considering LCA is 0-4 against Lex Cath and Dunbar.

Whoops, believe it or not I had just left a Casey Co. thread. Sorry bout that.

Casey County 20-1
Just lost the second this weekend to LCA I believe.

Lexington Catholic 46 Clay County 44
Not sure what is wrong with the team right now. Their last game before this against CAL was also a pretty lethargic and an unimpressive performance where they stuggled to pick up the win. This team has played some games this season where you can be impressed with their talent. However they have also been capable of some less noteworthy performances. That isn't to take anything away from Casey Co. who im sure played well themself tonight, but having seen Lexington Catholic play many times this season against some of the top competition not just in this state but other states I feel its safe to say they aren't playing good basketball right now. Casey Co. like any team however, is gonna play their opponent no matter how good or bad their performance is and tonight it sounds like they out played the Lady Knights. Plain and simple, you are right Region 13, if this Lady Knights team doesn't wake up soon then they don't have much chance of winning the 11th with LCA and Dunbar waiting on them. I have been worried about this team's lack of intensity and sometimes toughness throughout the year.

Casey County 20-1
You've misread my meaning. The fan simply was the one telling me this. Not the reason for the actual benching.
-
Casey County 20-1
The starters got benched a minute into the game per an LCA fan. I cannot guess the score at the time but the fan did not make it out to seem that it was 14-2 when they got sat down. Perhaps it was or wasn't, i don't know, im just telling you what I was told from another person at the game last night after the game.

Casey County vs Lex. Christian (Feb. 9)
No doubt there is a chance, I just think with LCA losing last night to district foe Dunbar, Casey Co. might be getting them as an opponent at the wrong time. No doubt this team is gonna be looking to really prove a point after the loss. Casey Co. is really gonna have to find a way to stop their two big shooters in Clifton and Barnett as well as shut down all around player Martin. If they do that it still isn't a guaranteed win because Mitchell down low can score just as well. Its gonna be a great test for Casey Co. as the postseason play nears.

Casey County vs Lex. Christian (Feb. 9)
LCA's four losses are twice to #1 Dunbar and twice to #2 Lex Cath. Casey County's loss was to Central Hardin. A great test for Casey Co. late in the year which will help them as they move towards tournament time but I think LCA will be too much. Forgot to add one out of state loss for LCA against a good tennessee team.

Hmmm, then lets see..... Question 1 Why did you click on the thread to read these comments??? Question 2 Why comment at all? Follow Gametime's advise, ignore a thread if you don't care about it. Its easy, I pretty much ignore all Eastern Ky and Southern Ky threads unless they happen to have my alma mater involved in it.

You're a little too new a member to really be complaining about this. Considering the large NKY population that has membership to this site this is a pretty valid thread. In fact, occassionally you will also see threads on games Oak Hill or other National powerhouses play if they get nationally televised. Pick your random arguements better.
