Simon Kenton/Ryle predictions
Yet another local example of over aggressive scheduling is NCC.

Bengals & NFL Donate to Covington Catholic
HB - If there is anyone in BC that could organize a Bengal Boycott it is you! Just take the funds that people would normally spend on Bengal tickets and start a fund for facility improvements. Then once you are organized, contact the media and let them know what you are doing. I see this as a cause three schools could rally behind. Imagine the press coming into Cooper any everybody is in Steeler attire!

Simon Kenton/Ryle predictions
LOL. RCC9 gives his own program a pass for having PT and JH on the schedule but crucifies SK for Connor, Cooper and NCC being on the schedule. He does not even give credit for having a school on the schedule that HHS could not beat when all the marbles were on the table. This guy is just an SK hater and no amount of logic is going to change that. He is more than willing to trivialize the accomplishments of entire program to get back at a single poster. Deep down, this fellow sees SK in the rear view mirror , and rapidly closing the gap. The programs do meet on the field this year, so he has to take his arguments to a forum like this.

Is a D1 football player made or born?
The answer to this question is made murky by lumping all D1 levels together. The answer is different if we are talking about BCS conference athletes vs FCS athletes. Someone with the height and marginal athleticism could be made into an FCS athlete. Folks playing BCS D1 ball do not look like they are descended from human beings.

Is a D1 football player made or born?
Speed training improved my 300 lb nephew's 40 time from 5.9 to 5.4 in 3 months. The training was recommended by multiple D1 position coaches and, for my nephew, it worked very well.

Is a D1 football player made or born?
Sprinters do training movements that involve sprinting with resistance such as parachutes or sand bags. They also do special flexibility exercise that are specific to speed training. These movements are not common in football conditioning programs (to my knowledge).

Simon Kenton/Ryle predictions
More stuff to get off my chest to the critics of SK scheduling. From the HHS perspective, success is measured in state championships. Considering where SK came from and where it is today, a regional championship is a reasonable expectation and would make the season a success. The level of scheduling is not being accelerated as fast as some would like, but it is being accelerated, This is the list of accomplishments the deliberate approach has made : 1) Created a winning atmosphere that has contributed to increased athlete and booster participation. 2) The loss of athletes to Cov Cath and Beechwood has stopped completely as of 2012. 3) Out of district transfers and open enrollment athletes has increased from essentially nothing to 3-4 athletes a year. 4) Financial contributions allowing the program to provide a modern training facility and an indoor fieldhouse have increased. It has taken SK 8 years to get from where Boone and Ryle are now to being able to compete even for a regional championship. I have said in other threads that SK needs to address the team speed improvements necessary to compete with T, Male and Scott Co. in its conditioning program. SK is not going to get the 3 and 4 star athletes these programs get on a regular basis, so the program needs to do better with the athletes it does get.

Simon Kenton/Ryle predictions
As so many HHS fans are willing to point out, HHS is the one with 50 state titles on its banner, not SK. SK has Cov Cath and Highlands on its schedule next year but right now has no business scheduling T, Male or even Scott County. And since we are on a thread that includes Ryle I'll point out that that program is the poster child of the caustic consequences of over aggressive scheduling. They have repeatedly scheduled programs that they have had no chance of competing with and it has contributed to culture of dysfunction and self destruction.

Simon Kenton/Ryle predictions
Well, I guess they could have scheduled state powers like Paducah Tighman and John Hardin. You are extremely critical of SK scheduling, but to be frank, HHS pre-district scheduling is even weaker when you factor in the status of HHS compared to SK. Where is BG? Where is a super district team?

SK put up 36 on that defense last year and this year's SK offense is BETTER!

Simon Kenton Girls
I highly recommend the player in question to approach the head coach and ask what they need to do to get playing time.

Maybe Johnson city could play Simon Kenton. We could call it "the Nobody Bowl".

Dixie vs. Boone County Predictions
Dixie plays multiple kids both ways , so there will be no depth advantage. Moore is not a good enough passer to expose Boone's secondary woes. Dixie does play pretty good defense though. Low scoring game. Dixie 17-14.

Simon Kenton/Ryle predictions
Ryle is implementing a passing offense with kids developed in Owen Hauck offense. They need to develop qbs and receivers at the developmental levels first before they have success at the varsity level. Give it time, they will be back.

Is Simon Kenton's football program on the decline???
Man, you folks sure are big over stats that occurred before the current set of kids were born. We see the product you have on the field today and we see NOTHING to be afraid of.

Its fantastic that we have so many Dixie and Highlands folks coming to our games. Gives them an opportunity to see a good team for a change!
