  1. Honestly this would shock me. We are so banged up and trying to fill in with what we have left. I would never pick against the Burg but if Herron and staff pull this out I nominate them for coaches of the year!
  2. Thanks and our prayers and best wishes continue with you good folks as well!
  3. The MASH unit is currently visiting the Burg and has set up tents at Findley Legion Stadium. Not sure I've ever seen the Jackets so banged up. Hopefully they get a few kids healed as this is the last game before an open date then on to District action. Allen looks pretty good on film and #40 for them is a horse. Will the Jackets have enough jockeys to ride that horse in to the ground and prevail? Skyler Griffith is an emerging star at Wideout, but the QB has to have time to throw, and the Jackets are very banged up in the protection department. Will Hawkeye and BJ have enough medical magic to bandage the Jackets up to survive the long bus ride and tame this Allen Squad? More later in the week....
  4. Well The Burg had more penalty yards so I guess that makes your observation less valid
  5. Right the ship Rams! Pulling for you all down here in the Burg!
  6. We had a underclassman injured not sure where broken leg came from, only have one Sr. lineman. Oneida is very good and the Burg didn't handle adversity well. Had almost 400 yards of offense but sputtered all night. Too many turnovers as 3 killed drives. Oneida's passing game over the top killed the Jackets. Hopefully the youthful Jackets learn from this experience and regroup for the long bus ride to Allen Central next week. Keep your heads up Jackets, the best is yet to come. Need short memories on this dissapointment.
  7. The most points scored by either team, as I recall, was 21 by the Burg in 2006 I believe. I may be wrong but I don't see a real high scoring affair. I'm going with my heart and calling for the Jackets to outlast the Indians 26-24.
  8. True however Williamsburg dresses 24 or so. When injuries hit such small numbers it is a huge impact.
  9. Gonna be tough for the Jackets...Injury bug biting pretty hard..I know one thing, this group will go out and lay it on the field. If we were healthy I'd pick Williamsburg by 8 to 10, but with the Jackets being undermanned this is going to be tough. I'd never pick against the Jackets and won't this time, but as stated earlier the Jackets have their hands full,. I think they can score on anyone, but the d will be sorely tested.
  10. So far practice this week at the Burg is going well. Looking forward to hearing the results of Patrick's MRI today. He was at practice and jogging yesterday, so if healthy a big boost for the Jackets.
  11. Not ready to predict but I agree past games have been slobberknockers and loads of fun and excitement!
  12. Know nothing about the Ohio school but I do know I'll be pulling for my adopted Rams!!!
  13. This was a great hard hitting series back in the earlier part of this decade. Onieda is a big powerful team that lines up and pounds it at you. The Jackets saw a team like this earlier in Harlan and came out on the short end. After a tough Leslie County game they are a little banged up. Has Sizemore grown up enough to lead the offense? Will Jefferson Patrick be good to go? Is Derek Mills healed enough to play? Lots of questions facing the Jackets this week. What's your take? More later.....
  14. Way to overcome adversity Rams! Very proud of you guys! Now go get another one!!
  15. Leslie was much tougher than many thought against Williamsburg. That being said I think Leslie just has too much for the Raiders and will win by at least 12.
  16. The Jackets faced adversity and didn't fold tonight, which shows me they are maturing nicely. This was a fun exciting high school game with two teams trading punches and both refusing to quit. My hat is off to Leslie, they are tough. For the Jackets, Skylar Griffith continues to show why he is possibly the top freshman in the region with another 100 yard receiving night. For the most part Sizemore played well in his first start. A couple of questionable decisions but overall any time you pass for nearly 300 yards not bad. Logan Hamlin had to step into Shelton's shoes at WR and played lights out. Jefferson Patrick going down with an injury in the first quarter hurt, but Lyons stepped in and played pretty well. Chris Helton and Tyler Taylor had big nights and the D line showed they had finally leaned how to defend the screen with Taylor picking one off late to stop a Leslie drive. One other thing about Sizemore...when he runs the ball he sure isn't afraid to lower the shoulder and hammer someone. This was a very good win for the Jackets. Next up is a quality Onieda Tennessee team in a renewal of a great series from a few years back...Hopefully Patrick will be ok, if not, then the Jackets have to improvise yet again. One things for certain, this young team is starting to discover what Jacket Pride means!
  17. Can understand to a point, however having worked in schools where its up to boosters to raise money, I have seen them work miracles to fund programs.
  18. Prediction time..a day late lol...The Jackets face a bit of adversity losing Shelton, but I think Coach Herron and staff have a few things up their collective sleeves this week. As always, going with my big orange heart and expecting it to be close for awhile, but then the Jackets to pull away in the 4th 34- 20...Jacket Pride!
  19. Good Luck tommorrow Rams..Expect to read in the Sunday paper about a big win!!! Go Fight Win!!!
  20. Really can't figure out what the deal is with McCreary..large school, good in other sports, but struggle in football year in and out. If correct 7 wins the best ever season? Oh well good luck but I have to say I think North handles this one 30- 6
  21. Wow this hurts...Hopefully the Jackets can pull through and hang tough. I felt before this that the Burg would win by 14, but now I have to say this is a toss up...Hope the Jackets can tough it out...Jacket Pride!! Hang tough Corey, best wishes for a fast recovery
  22. Wow sometimes it seems that when it rains it pours. Will add this to our prayer list . Hang in there Ram nation...God has His plan..If He be for us none can stand against us.
  23. Got to see Leslie on film and they are very similar to Williamsburg in offensive style. The running back #26 I think, runs hard and downhill, the QB appears mobile and pretty accurate. They also have some nice receivers, was impressed with the way 82 comes back for the ball. This will be a tough game for the Young Jackets, as Leslie has alot of upperclassmen. Williamsburg does appear to have more speed, but Leslie has to have the experience edge....more later!
  24. Very class act on this. My prayers continue to be with the family in particular, and with the entire Ram Nation
