  1. Pulling hard for the Rams to right the ship this week!
  2. This game is huge!! Two schools that really don't like each other, two fan bases passionate about their teams. You can say what you wish about Lynn Camp being down and having a rough year...it doesn't matter. The Campers will be out to ruin the Jackets win streak and will play their hearts out! The Jackets must overcome slow starts and sputtering offensive play to get this win. Lynn Camp has a ball posession offense that can give you fits. The Jackets of late have been struggling to find an offensive rythm. I expect this game to be closer than alot of people think...Who wins this blood fued and why? More later in the week.....
  3. Well we pulled off another one 20 - 14 in OT. The jackets came out flat and Berea is pretty tough. Skyler Griffith had another 100 yard plus receiving game and was one of the few bright spots. The offense sputtered all night. Blocked punt by the up back started the game off badly and the team ddid just enough to win. Youth really showed tonight. Was afraid of a let down after Campbellsville and we surely had one. My hat's of to the Pirates though as they played an excellent game and have improved tremendously. Now on to the big rivalry...Lynn Camp.
  4. Don't hang your head Rams , still plenty to play for!
  5. Is it just me or does it seem that we all muddle through the week and come alive on Fridays? LOL...anyway, Jackets time to buckle it up and get after it....my prediction...Jackets 34 Pirates 14...
  6. On another note, a very spirited and good practice at the Burg yesterday. Great focus and intensity. The one thing I worry about is that this week is fall break on Thursday and Friday. Hate to break routine with a young group like this.
  7. To each his own I guess but have to tell you I am a huge UT fan, hate Alabama and Florida, don't like Kentucky, but anytime they play out of conference I pull for them. I want the SEC to be pre-eminent in all sports even if it was tiddly winks. Feel the same way about our district...want us to kick the crap out of every non district foe. Now being from the Burg I have no love lost for LC and will admit that, but I pulled for you guys in every non district game, hoped you'd beat Berea, hope you beat Campbellsville, and Middlesboro. Unlike some I love it when the LC Williamsburg game means something big. Its a huge rivalry, heck when we play records go out the window and its a dog fight, which is what rivalry fans live for. As far as "making nice" I really could care less about that, I am who I am, accept me or reject me, I live my life the way I feel I should so not too phased by peer pressure or conformity. I have to look at me in the mirror everyday, and as long as I can do that, treat others how I want to be treated, be kind and graciuos, I am a pretty happy person.
  8. Best of luck it would be a great win if you all pull it off!
  9. Yes it definitely does. I have seen us dress as few as 17 players before. With that being said I think that the way Jerry Herron prepares his teams is absolutely amazing and even when they come up short they give tremendous effort. And I well remember Lynn Camp beating us by about 60 when they had Chaffin and Reynolds, and we had Root and Moses among several others out. Not saying we would have won because LC was outstanding that year but we might not have gotten beat by 60..lol...guess LC put us in "our place" that time
  10. Maybe we win maybe we lose who knows ...that's why you play the game. We are young, earlier against Harlan and Onieda our youth showed...we matured some last Friday and learned to face adversity and eke out a win. Unlike you I want all our district teams to suceed until we play them...it just makes everyone better, and you are incorrect I pulled for the Campers several games this year...its like the SEC ...I may be a huge fan of one school, but pull for the SEC teams anytime they are out of conference.
  11. Geez Daddy was not meaning offense and sorry you took it that way. If you read my posts I will be the first to admit I am a homer, as you are. When saying put in place my meaning was that Berea won the game and not anything disrespectful to your team. I have watched the Campers on film and respect very much the effort they play with...its a tough year for you guys and having been through tough years I appreciate that. Now I will not claim to like Lynn Camp, but heck I'm from the Burg so thats natural, as I'm sure you don't like the Jackets either. I enjoy the rivalry between our schools and am sorry you took my comments to be derogatory as that was not the intent. Unlike many Camper fans who I read on here, I rarely if ever criticize other teams, but expound on Williamsburg...sorry you're having a down year, but take your frustrations elsewhere and don't read more into my posts than what is written...and I'm pretty sure when we lost to Harlan and to Onieda they put us in "our place "as well.
  12. Hope practice is going well for the Rams this week...hope you all are healthy...remember games are won in practice not on Friday night! Go Rams!!!
  13. Hope Corbin can make a game of it...but I think Bell is just to strong, fast, and atheletic...Bell 38 - 7
  14. Harlan may be a bit banged up but I think they prevail 28 - 6
  15. Both the Jackets and the Pirates are coming off big district wins. The Pirates put Lynn Camp in its place and the Jackets held on by the skin of their teeth to eke out the win at Campbellsville. Berea has been making some noise with their ground attack the past couple of weeks and have a bull at FB in #45. The tail back #34 also runs hard and they seem to have found an offense that works. The Jackets have struggled to find balance, but have a developing star at WR in Griffith. Sizemore has improved each week at QB, and now that Patrick is healthy the run game seems to be catching up. This will be another battle of speed vs. power, with the Jackets having to figure out how to keep Berea from controlling the clock with its big backs. Can the Jackets speed outlast the Pirates? More later in the week but until then... Jacket Pride!
  16. The Jackets jumped out early on the Eagles and went up 28-8 at the half. The only score given up was a blocked punt (have to get this fixed!!!). The Jacket offense was clicking on all cylinders in the first half as Sklyer Griffith was again the main target in the passing game, had close to 170 yards receiving on the night. The running game with Patrick and Sizemore was also working well. As sometime happens with young teams with big leads, the Jackets lost focus in the second half and got a bad case of the fumbles and let Campbellsville back in the game. As I said in my prediction the game came down to the last possesion and as Campbellsville was desperately trying to move the ball, Logan Hamlin came up with a huge interception. Even with the sloppy second half this was a huge win for the Burg. First victory ever at Campbellsville. Now on to hosting the Pirates of Berea and sewing this district up...go Jackets...Jacket Pride!!
  17. Pulling hard for you Rams! Got a tatse of Fairview last year and it left a distinctly sour one in my mouth. Hope you all circle the wagons and pull off this one!
  18. YEP!!! Thanks for the lesson!!
  19. Geez is this day ever going to get to game time? I'm pacing so much I'm wearing a path in the floor of my office...Can't wait Come on Jackets lets roll tonight! JACKET PRIDE!!
