Dixie Heights 15 Villa Madonna 0
When Villa's ace left the score was getting ugly. It was probably 8 or 9 to 0. A few homeruns today for Dixie in this one. Brad Popham hit a homerun the very first pitch of the game(#1 of the year). Prado had a 2 run homerun(#2 of the year), he went 2 for 3 I believe. Sexton had a homerun(#4 of the year) and also a double with 2 rbis, he went 2 for 2. Dixie Heights started Smallwood and he was dominant as usual striking out all but 1 I believe. He went 3 innings and finished with 8 K's, 1 walk and 0 hits allowed. Sexton threw the next 2 innings and looked sharp as well giving up 0 hits, 4 strikeouts and 1 walk. Prado finished it out striking out all 3. Im not sure what Dixie's coach was thinking pitching these 3 in a district game against a very weak Villa team. Only thing I can think of that makes the most sense is he wanted them to get in a couple innings each before the Coach Conner Classic this weekend. Overall good game Colonels.

Connor Classic Schedule this Saturday May 8th
Looks like a good tournament. My predictions is in the finals we will see Dixie Heights vs. Cov Cath and Dixie taking this one due to it being at their home field. I dont know why I think that will have anything to do with their win but I just think they will win this one.

Summer Baseball
The High School season is almost to its end with about a month left. Im trying to see who some of these High School kids will be playing summer ball for. If you know any or have any rosters to any teams please post it so people know who's on who's team if anybody wants to go watch.

Exactly who is their ace? Zerhusen? Nobel?

Mid-Season NKY Top 10
TOG, if I remember correctly the 2-1 victory Cov Cath had over Dixie was indeed a game of the season and maybe of the decade. A simply amazing game. But if you were there like I know you were in the bottom of the 7th inning with 2 outs Dixie's 2nd basemen could have turned around and tagged the CCH runner for the 3rd and final out of the game. I understand that was a mental error on his part but all it took was for him to do that LITTLE thing and we wouldnt be talking about who the better team was. Or would we? Because im sure young Mr. Ronnie Winters mental block doesnt make Dixie Heights that much of a worse team than Cov Cath. All im saying is if he makes the tag instead of throwing it away and having the tying run come across the plate we wouldnt even be having this conversation. But he didnt make the tag and Cov Cath won so I guess that does put CCH 4 spots ahead of Dixie in your poll

Mid-Season NKY Top 10
Re Read the thing I put above my rankings. Not based on who beat who, just on the teams if they played there absolute best.

Mid-Season NKY Top 10
I definately forgot about them. My bad! Id put them at number 5.

Mid-Season NKY Top 10
Right! Compltely right.

Mid-Season NKY Top 10
Im making these rankings not according to who beat who and all that jazz. Im making these based on stricly who would beat who if all teams played at their absolute best. IMHO every game I have attended of Dixie Heights their pitching has been so over powering. I know they've lost a few games to teams on this list but I think if Dixie Heights plays to their best ability and so does the other team, Dixie Heights wins. They are simply the best all around team up here IMO. Boone County is a very close #2. 1. Dixie Heights 2. Boone County 3. Connor 4. Cov Cath 5. Beechwood 6. Bishop Brossart 7. Holy Cross 8. New Cath 9. Highlands 10. Cooper

Holy Cross 3 Beechwood 1
I heard the same thing. Heard his defense behind him was horrific tonight.

NKY POY
I know this has no effect on anything but if I has to choose my top 5 candidates in order it'd look like this. In order for me to make this list I tried to include the following: offense, defense, pitching era, and able to be clutch. 1. Travis Norton- batting .590 with 14 doubles and a good pitching record. 2. Tyler Sexton- batting .443 with 8 doubles and 3 homeruns and a .80 ERA. 3. James Hoskins- 5 homeruns and a RBI machine. 4. Ronald Cotton- 5 homeruns and 24 stolen bases and possibly the best CF in NKY. 5. Austin Pugh- 5 homeruns and the leader if the Conner team. Also am RBI machine.

NKY POY
I follow you Coop. Im just saying what I saw. He's a good catcher and a great hitter. I just wouldnt put him at the top of my POY voting right now. Nor Hoskins. They are both definately worthy of being in the discussion but im not too sure if they'll win it.

NKY POY
Ive seen him play in about 6 to 7 games this year. About 5 of them were at 1st base. Thats the area he needs improvement. He's a above average catcher I'd say.

JV Records
Brossart is 14-3 Dixie Heights is 14-3
-
NKY POY
Totally agreed. Well the same exact thing can be said about Pugh. Everytime I've seen him in the field it doesnt look to good. Dont get me wrong the kid is probably one of the best hitters in NKY. Awesome hitter. But his defense is lacking big time.

Holy Cross (Covington)/Beechwood Predictions? 4/29
Depends on who pitches for each team. But it looks like it'll be Berkte for the Tigers and Ritter for the Indians. I say the Tigers take this one. Beechwood 8 Holy Cross 2

Boone County 2 Dixie Heights 0
Very good game pitching by Teegarden as he had the Colonels off balance all night. Only hitting from the Colonels tonight came from Sexton and Prado, they each had 1 hit. Stansberry gets the L for the Colonels. Didnt pitch bad but the Rebels did the small things to win this game. Very ugly game offensively by the Colonels.
