Stat-building game .

Sounds ugly. Who pitched for Dixie?

Only 4-0 in the 5th. Villa ace left with some sort of wrist injury. Then the wheels fell off. Thing to keep in mind Villa only has 14 players and 9 are freshman.

As for Dixie they look very very good. They hit the ball tonight and Smallwood of coarse was overpowering but looked very sharp.

It is a stat building game but not becuase Dixie wanted it that way these 2 teams must play for seeding in the 34th district tournament.

When Villa's ace left the score was getting ugly. It was probably 8 or 9 to 0. A few homeruns today for Dixie in this one. Brad Popham hit a homerun the very first pitch of the game(#1 of the year). Prado had a 2 run homerun(#2 of the year), he went 2 for 3 I believe. Sexton had a homerun(#4 of the year) and also a double with 2 rbis, he went 2 for 2.

Dixie Heights started Smallwood and he was dominant as usual striking out all but 1 I believe. He went 3 innings and finished with 8 K's, 1 walk and 0 hits allowed. Sexton threw the next 2 innings and looked sharp as well giving up 0 hits, 4 strikeouts and 1 walk. Prado finished it out striking out all 3.

Im not sure what Dixie's coach was thinking pitching these 3 in a district game against a very weak Villa team. Only thing I can think of that makes the most sense is he wanted them to get in a couple innings each before the Coach Conner Classic this weekend.

Overall good game Colonels.
