I never played football but can someone tell me about the gloves? I don’t doubt the talent of the high school kids, college, or pro football players but you can’t convince me that the glove technology in today’s game doesn’t help with all these incredible one handed grabs made every weekend at all levels. It’s reminds me of how the golf technology has revolutionized the sport (especially for the weekend warriors). Assuming the wind is fair. The rain is steady and not an all out monsoon. I think plenty of catches will still be made around the state Friday night, regardless of the rain. Anyone have experience with the gloves these modern players use? Just how tacky are they?

BW also leans a lot on the short pass game, as an extension of the run to get those skills in space. Make one move and a missed tackle can turn into a long completion but very little air yards. I believe that part of the passing game will still work in the rain.

If this off season wasn’t disappointing enough. If the defense hasn’t been bad enough. If the injuries haven’t been unlucky enough. it just keeps coming. THIS is an embarrassment. Bengals are a hard organization and team to like and root for. It’s sad. Personally, I am not sure how much more of my time and money I can give them.

I apologize for not knowing the names or even expressing this properly, but it touched me last night and I wanted to share. This is what it’s all about — this picture. QB was hurt, out for the rest of the last game of the season. Multiple coaches came to the kid, sat with him. Hugging. Talking. Caring. Encouraging. Like I said, I can’t put the right words to it but I felt it showed the best side of the coach/player relationship at the high school level.

I know usual home games are 730p but I heard 7p for tonight. Can someone confirm game time for me?

I didn’t mean to start the annual tradition of complaining about who travels the most and how unfair it is. I was more curious about how each team handles it. As well as, learning how past players and coaches dealt with long travel games. Things like: did you rent coach buses? Did you stop on the way or drive straight through? Did you ever spend the night? How was pregame meal handled? What’s the target arrival time before away games (2-hrs)? Things like that. Trying to learn more about the experience.

How do teams handle long trips? I am sure it happens in the regular season but this time year it happens more often with a lot more on the line. An example is Cov Cath traveling to Johnson Central, but they aren’t the only ones that will be traveling 3+ hours this week or in the upcoming weeks. I am sure every school handles it differently and I was curious, so hopefully some can share their previous experiences or specifics on how teams are dealing with it this year.

The picks are aren’t problem for the Bengals. Doubtful the Bengals hit on one out of two of those picks anyway. For the Bengals it’s a lack of imagination and creativity, as usual. Lack of doing different and looking for new/better ways. Lock down corner to go with DJ Turner. That’s how it begins — fortify one spot on defense, then look for incremental improvements at other defensive positions. Honestly, I am not sure how the Sauce contract (4-yr $120M) would fit with the payroll, but I love the deal for him and the Colts. Not saying that signing Sauce is right for the Bengals, but it’s just frustrating seeing how this organization builds a team when you can look around the NFL and all the major sports to see how others do it year in and year out more successfully.
