  1. Driving by it looked to be off from home plate and entire left side of infield to behind second base.
  2. Was at the softball game at Ryle and the storm blew both the baseball and softball tarps off the fields as I was pulling out. Doesn't look good for Tues.
  3. Heard from my daughter that Ryle had 1 starter not even at the game due to illness, plus Jump and 1 other player very sick in game. Ryle did try to pick up the pressure the 2nd half playing full court man to man trapping defense but I could tell watching this game they just didn't have the energy they normally do. NCC got them on a off night. Ryle will be healthy and ready to go in the tournament.
  4. Same place they would have been the last twelve years without the transfer or two the program needed to win. Same place they will be next year without the guard they need. IMO not where they have been. Guess time will tell.
  5. Difference is the Ryle players legally reside in the Ryle District and follow the same rules that ALL students in the state and school district go by. Players mentioned above enrolled as Freshman at Ryle and were approved to do so by the BOE based on their legal residence. Douthit is a teacher at Ryle so his daughter can attend Ryle so it doesn't matter where she lives.
  6. As I remeber correctly Moss and Criitendon joined that team as 8th graders late Dec. when the team was already 11-1 so the transformation of the program had already taken place. No doubt they had an impact on team though. Wouldn't expect you to do anything different than support the coach that has made everything right for your player.
  7. No, but it would definately make people accountable. Easy to criticize a program, coaches, and all their so called D1 players when you don't have to play them. Ryle was ranked 4th and 5th the entire year by the coaches and was one of the two teams remaining. They have nothing to be ashamed of. By the way the top 7 players return and now they have Big Game experience.
  8. Her 3rd and 4th year as the Head Coach at Boone. Ironic with all the talk of the Boone/Ryle rivalry and the two head coaches, Oliverio was Nell's assistant her first four years and during these two championships. 8 long years till Nell won another one. Then the transfers started coming and they have not stopped. Championships with Smith from Dixie, Dailey from Ryle, 2 with Bradley from Conner, and 1 with Moss from Ryle. Some other top notch players from Highlands and Holy Cross that did not win the region. Hope that answers your question.
  9. Thought Ryle was the underdog! How did your team do down in the 8th Region? Sure the two coaches could schedule a game next year if you want to try and arrange it.
  10. You have got to be kidding me! Your son must be proud!
  11. Well I was there as a parent. Seeing how much time and effort the players and coaches have put into the program I guess I am a little sensitive. I for one am going to defend the entire program, players and coaches. Both coaches were doing their jobs trying to help the players out with the timeout. The players were trying their very best to the end to win a ballgame that meant more to them than anyone in that place other than the other team. They just lacked the experience this year in that situation. Next year that want be the case.
  12. Both Ryle coaches were yelling to foul! First shot was a back-door lay-up that was missed, 2nd shot was thrown up with 12 seconds on the clock off of a rebound and the 3rd shot was a wide open 3 off of another rebound that just missed with 5 seconds on the clock. If that shot goes in people are asking why Boone gave up three shots under 15 seconds and lost the game. Ryle battled to the end. Bet they learn from the experience and will be back next year an even stronger team.
  13. Boone scores 32 points and you are saying they were in the wrong "d" for that game. Give me a Break. Moss teammates had 14 and she had 18 sounds like that 2-3 was easy for them all. Can not understand how a HOF coach who has been building a program for 25 years with four returning starters(2 seniors) and a transfer like Moss can only beat Ryle with a coach who has had the program for 3 years in OT, 1 point and 2 points. Seriously, and Oliverio is getting ripped for being a "bad" coach. Maybe Nell should be asking herself how Ryle is so close to her in such a short period of time Not to mention the transfer from Ryle? Ryle has done this with underclassmen not with experience! Next two years could be interesting! Anyone want to guess on who the next one to Boone is? Boone needs a guard!
  14. Is basketball at St. Louis that bad that you are still worrying about high school girls basketball in NKY? Time to move on big fellow like most "adults" do when their child graduates and moves on. Seriously, you want to pop off at a coach who is obviously going through a tough time. NO CLASS!
  15. No they did not. Called the last one after Crittendon made the 3 to cut it to two under a minute to play.
  16. Both coaches were screaming to foul. Players lost track of the clock and you can attribute that to experience and never being in that situation before. Everyone returns for Ryle next year and most even the following year so I am sure they will learn from this experience.
  17. Seriously, did you watch the entire game? Ryle pressed the entire game and caused alot of TO's by Boone. Boone got some early layups but Ryle adjusted and gave up none after that. In the second half while continuing to press Ryle held Boone to 5 field goals and thirteen total points. IMO the press wore Boone down in the second half and kept them fro getting comfortable in the half-court offense. Personally think Boone would have scored alot more running a half court offense the entire second half.
  18. Difference is they all played in the game and actually had a chance to reach their average. Crittendon sat for 12 minutes. If Moss sits for 12 minutes against Ryle in a game Boone has no chance. Then we could really see how good a coach Nell is and getting the most out of her players!!
  19. All of Ryle's players began their high school eligibilty as Freshman at Ryle High School. None have played at any other schools from their 9th grade year on.
  20. You are right! Considering Fookes is on a string of 12 consecutive years with a transfer and the last four were with a transfer including these two I would say she has underachieved!! Have alot more respect for the coaches who develop and win with their own players. Really have respect for the programs who lost players to Boone and won Regional Titles in spite. Conner and Highlands for example. Never know Ryle could be the next!!
  21. My bad. Not directed at you. Was following up your post to Time and Score Was directed at that poster.
  22. Dawn Johnson is receiving interest from several D1 schools. If you do not see her as a D1 talent ?? So that at least makes 4 on the floor. Think it was reported earlier by the Ryle coach that 4 of her players had been on D1college visits and were receiving interest before the season started. Those are facts. What you stated is your OPINION- not FACTS!!
  23. No exageration at all. Was sitting right there. Fookes walked out on the floor and got in the face of the Ryle player. These kind of things will show up on a game film I am sure. Unbelievable, should have been given a technical at minimal or thrown out of the game. Ryle's coach saw it happen and was asking the officials why Fookes wasn't given a technical. On the same play the Boone player who was shaken up was assisted by a coach on the floor and was allowed to stay in the game without coming out. Ask the player what Fookes said to her I am sure she can tell you the same thing I heard, the Ryle coach heard and those sitting where I was sitting heard.
  24. Your team beat Holmes by 44 and Ludlow by almost 50. Looking at the boxscore I see your team played about the same amount of people that Ryle did so should I make the same assumption about your program?
  25. Ryle came out pressing the first half and went up as many as 26. Last 3 minutes of 1st half Oliverio spread playing time around and called off Ryle's full court game. Ryle went 10-11 deep in this game. 2nd half played a half court game and maintained a 20 plus lead throughout. Holmes shot the lights out of it in the 2nd half and cut the lead. Give credit to Holmes for never quiting. Ryle plays 4 games in a span of 7 days with Tates Creek Sat. and Lexington Christian on Monday. Guessing that is why Coach Oliverio played a little conservative in the 2nd half.
