Based on the weather forecast this week, how will the host schools get all the District games in prior to next Monday 9th Region Tourney?

35th is playing at at Meinken Field

34th is playing at Lloyd Memorial

33rd is playing at Ryle

 

To the best of my knowledge only Ryle has a tarp.

There is no rush to get any games in, district or region. The powers that be have the state tourney not start for another week after region. I really do not understand that, but that is what it is. I am sure the summer coaches would like it to get done though.

No. Going to be interesting to see if the field can be readied for game today. Rained pretty hard last night.

They'd might have to find another venue to play the region in such a case. Freedom doesn't play on June 6th, but not sure all schools are out that they could play games that day. Freedom has home games the rest of that week.

That would be fine with me. I am sure some of the high schools could have their fields ready. Maybe the 4 district champs could host the first round region games. I am not a fan of the turf.

Won't disagree with you but the one problem with District winners hosting, is some of the winners fields might not meet KHSAA standards for hosting a tourney game Link! The other problem I have seen is with rain, one field is dry and can be played upon where as the other is still wet. If you allow one team to play their game and the others can't, then you are giving the winners who could play an advantage of an additional day or so of rest!

I was just throwing that out as a suggestion. I would say there could be 2 fields ready and play 2 at each place. I know there are a lot of people who are smarter than myself that could figure this out. Maybe St. Henry could be used if available. The extra days rest would be luck of the draw. The state tourney starts on Monday the 13th with 4 more first round games on Tuesday the 14th. I am not sure how they shake out from there, but I figure someone gets an extra day.

Boone and Cooper got 5 innings in before the storm and Boone won by a score of 6-0.

 

Was told while watching the Cooper/Boone game, that the 34th District games have been moved to Dixie and the 36th District games have been moved to Highland Park because of the weather.

 

Honestly with the rain we had and are having.....

Not 100% sure but I believe all seeded district games must be completed through 7. It will not be considered a win for Boone.

It is being finished tomorrow at 4:30 at Ryle.

Ryle got the tarp out before the rain hit so the infield should be in pretty good shape. Teegarden is pitching for Boone and number 4 for Cooper. (Sorry I do not know his name)
