  1. I heard the Boone Frosh team rolled Cov Cath last night. True? Can some recap? If so, Nice Job Boone.
  2. OK, back to Ryle and Boone.... Forgot to mention earlier that Ryle's D was led by #44 Pavy with 2 picks. That's a nice thing to see going into games with more prolific passers. But moving into the playoffs, it's looking more and more like the way to a Ryle championship includes balance. Pavy is the real deal and should start to get more carries so defenses can't key on specific players. I bet we'll see more looks from FB Plvan and WB Fightmaster, too. Go Ryle.
  3. Couldn't agree more. Boone's D was ready for what was coming - I think that's a credit to the Boone coaches and the emotion of the rivalry. The Boone coaches looked to have their team very well prepared on Defense. Ryle's D was equally impressive, though. Without the muff'd punt, Boone had virtually nothing. If teams are going to begin putting that many kids in the box to stop Pulice and Co., Ryle has enough athletes that they should be able to make the adjustment. Yes - converting 4th and 13 in the final minute was sweet and an example of what I'm talking about - split Pulice out and throw him a pass. Now, next week, get Osbourne the ball - run a wildcat formation - do something different. But overall, congrats to both teams for a great game. And congrats to the Ryle Raiders on continuing that undefeated season. Better get better, boys.
  4. I guarantee the Boone team will be UP for this one. I'm sure they'll play as good as they have, to date. Ryle will be well-rested. They've had a long time to get well from sicknesses at the school and between games. They should be sharper than they have been the last 2 games. I think it'll be a lopsided victory - driven by the effective running game for Ryle. Let's hope the O-line keeps gettin' it done.
  5. I hope you're right. But Boone has been putting up lots of points. What, 38 against Highlands? Can Ryle's defense stop Williams, Diaw and Company off tackle 25 times in this game. Cuz that's what's coming. Agreed, Ryle will have no problem running on Boone's D.
  6. Gonna be a great rivalry game - played at 12:30 at Ryle on Saturday. This talented class of kids all know eachother and came up together in PeeWee. Care to make a prediction? Who wins and why?
  7. Centers played in the JV game against Ryle the other day and was completely shut down - while Ryle played many of their Freshman starters for most of that JV game. Pulice went off and had numerous runs and catches - 2 TD's, etc. I don't get where you're coming from. I only wish Morris and Collins would have played, too. Not sure why they didn't - that would have been at least one way to see how the Cooper Frosh and Ryle Frosh stack up. Good point on the Beechwood example, Jar, I'll have to reconsider and agree - so, IMO, this year, Ryle is better than Cooper - but Cooper is at least in the discussion.
  8. Agreed - shouldn't even be in the discussion. Until someone figures out how to stop Ryle's running game - they are #1
  9. Ryle put in the 2's again very early - This time, the #2s on offense played the entire 2nd half. On defense, Ryle played their 2's in the 3rd quarter while Dixie stayed with thier first team offense. Ryle had to return their #1 defense to the field for the 4th quarter. Dixie actually had negative yardage against Ryle's 1's. With the #1 offense on the field for Ryle only in the first half, #24 Pulice ran rampant - over 200 yds, 2 rushing and 1 throwing TD on a half back pass. #12 Brandon Fightmaster turned in a great performance with 2 other touchdowns on misdirection plays. #44 Travis Pavy also chipped in with a receiving and rushing TD. A total mis-match. Ryle continues to show why they are the best Freshman team in NKY
  10. Ryle is now 5-0 with wins over Holy Cross, Cov Cath, Highlands, Conner, and Simon Kenton. They look to improve their record to 6-0 playing Dixie tomorrow at Ryle. (6:00)
  11. I don't see Ryle losing a game for the rest of the year - with the likes of Dixie, Boone and Campbell County left...they will likely go undefeated - assuming they show up each week. Pretty impressive with that early year schedule.
  12. Hey, both teams played in the wet conditions. So, the fact that Ryle had just 1 turnover with their first team was impressive. More impressive, though, Ryle's Defense. Just before half, Ryle threw an interception that #45 returned to the 2 before being caught - evidently not as fast as the Ryle RB. The Ryle defense held SK from scoring - a great defensive series. #24 Pulice - over 200 yds rushing and 2 TD's. Very tough. And with 9-10 in the box. The only reason this game wasn't a 32-12 game was that Ryle put their second team offense and defense in for 2 series in the 4th quarter.
  13. Ryle's just too big up front - and with thier running game, I don't see it as being a close game. SK hasn't played the same level of competition as Ryle thus far.
  14. Game Recap - Ryle just over matched Conner, but it didn't look that way at the beginning. Conner jumped out 6-0 after a Ryle fumble gave Conner excellent field position. Conner's #7 Drew Barker was clearly the best player for Conner on both sides of the ball. For Ryle, the same old thing - Run with authority. #24 Tanner Pulice led the Raiders with strong running inside and out. Probably had 150 yds rushing and a very athletic one-handed catch for a TD to seal the victory. Pulice did get injured in the 2nd quarter so he left the game until the 2nd half, re-entering to play the 3rd quarter before Ryle gave way to their twos. In his absence, Pavy carried the load with strong running between the tackles. Defensively, Ryle is very strong - #20 Daniel Osborne continued his streak of games with at least one interception. #7 Tom Deters (an 8th grader) led the Ryle middle Linebacker corp and #2 Will Bloom patrols the defensive end position - getting in on numerous tackles and recording a sack on the elusive Barker. Overall, both teams committed way too many penalties, but Ryle just has too many horses.
  15. Ryle 4-0 Beat Highlands, Cov Cath, Conner, Holy Cross
  16. Another solid win for the Ryle Freshman. That team looks very very good.
  17. Based on what I saw of Conner last night at Boone. I think this will be a complete mismatch - My prediction: Ryle wins easily 35-10.
  18. A good game between 2 relatively even teams. I wasn't too impressed with either team. Conner QB - Drew Barker seemed to be a player that will be fun to watch for years to come - isn't he an 8th grader? Boone was typically predictable and will be easy pickins for Cov Cath and Ryle as they were for Highlands earlier this year. Nonetheless, a good win for Boone. Congrats to the kids from Boone. Let Boone QB Ingolia throw the ball more - he looked like he has a good arm.
  19. Good question - there was no reason. Who does Cooper play next week and where? I think Conner is at Ryle next Thursday - that ought to be a good match up. Heard that Drew Barker is all everything.
  20. I heard that Holy Cross forfeited - so that game may not need to be made up. BTW, after Pulice scored 3 td's on 3 carries against Holy Cross, there was no need for Ryle to continue with any starters mid-way through the first quarter. I'd like to see Ryle and Cooper play - most of the kids know eachother and have played against eachother in PeeWee - it would start a healthy rivalry.
  21. Ryle played on the 2nd, then the 8th - no reason to slam the AD's.
