"who is the greatest Head coach in Ky history"
thenamerobdigity replied to theguru's topic in KY Football (High School)
You also can't discount current coaches because others were successful before. Think how many coaches would apply to Trinity if there was on opening...? of course they are going to get a good coach because of the tradition built up by previous coaches. That doesn't make a coach any better or worse, it just changes what "success" is at that school. -

A coach needs to develop talent. Coaches need to prove they can deliver in championship settings. A 3 win coach no matter who is on your schedule in the state of KY is a bad season. Over their career, the best coach ever had better have a bunch of championships. -

Hilton. Chain gang tilted the chain forward for a run, back for a pass, left, right... -

I dont believe coaches should be discounted for being at a good program. Does a coach have to be at a poor football program to be in the running? I don't think so. IMO it comes down to Beatty and Dale. -

If I were a coach, I would take a healthy Kyle Bolin over any other QB in the state. He has the best talent when healthy, BUT he wasn't healthy. I don't know. A good thread might be, what should the criteria be for the All-State team. -

His situation was a little different, but I feel missing significant time should not translate into postseason awards. Not getting hurt is part of the game. You can't say what could have happened, because it didn't happen. -

Bolin was the one without legs to stand on. Please tell me where I said Collinsworth should be all state in 2009. How do you know how I feel about him making all state? Are you assuming that I said Collinsworth deserved it? -

Gosh I didnt even say anything bad, and this gets thrown at me. You are setting this kid up for embarassment if OSU doesn't offer. I hope they do offer, but neither of us are "informed" on how OSU feels about an offer to him. I tend to take a slower approach to recruiting, and let things play out. Look I was passing on what I heard from someone in Dales family that I specfically asked who he was recruiting. Heck I was going to start a thread about this but someone beat me to it -

Haha this is a joke. I simply passed in what I was told from someone closely assoicated to Dale. Then I said we will see in the future, meaning we will see in the future, and not, I don't think he is any good and don't support him. Talk about twisting words... You all need to calm down, I hope this kid is a parade AA. But, I don't want to jump the gun and annoint him either. I think it is fantastic that Urban was there today. -

The first team QB... 113-207 1556 passing 187 yards rushing in 7 games... Sat the rest of the year. IMO should not have made the team. -

Urban Cryer Liar was not visiting for anyone in particular. He was there to establish a relationship with the Highlands program. Heard from a family member of the man. -

The funny thing is, the athlete that has been discussed has been seen by a lot of coaches because his QB is getting major looks. If there is anyone who is being "overlooked," it is not him.

I was looking at his profile on scout and rivals and I don't see any offers. And as far as running a legit 4.4... no chance that is true. Sure a coach with his watch can time him at a 4.4, but legit? No. This is his highlight tape. As far as the talent in NKY... There isn't much. Plain and simple. There are 120 D-1 programs. On average a team signs 25 a year, that is 3000 athletes. The population of the US is around 311,000,000. The population of Kentucky is about 4,300,000. The whole state of Kentucky is about 1.4% of the population of the US. Combine that with not being a hotbed for talent and it sounds about right... to me at least.
