  1. I mean who else would waste a couple hours arguing about match-up that won't happen for at least the next 2 years?
  2. I would love to be there, but I live in Florida now and unfortunately won't be able to get off work that Friday to be able to make it home.
  3. His content doesn't line up, and he has been arguing against Highlands with 2 different teams by changing the subject. This is an argument that will never end. He thinks Bowling Green and I think Highlands is better. I give an argument where Highlands is clearly better and he give a Boyle Co. fact. Then he gives me an argument why Bowling Green is better than Highlands and it is Highlands winning a state championship over Bowling Green, but Bowling Green made to the finals the 2 years prior! (even though both teams ended up losing to the eventual state champion that year). My best argument. Highlands has 5 state championships in a row, it took Highlands dropping down a class (which Highlands has no control over and most agree 4a is tougher) for Bowling Green to finally "break through", the western side of the state has not traditionally been good in schools near that size (Highlands has 441 boys compared to BG's 582 which equates to around 75%) In the last 15 years of Highlands and Bowling Green being in the same classification, NKY and Central KY won every state championship while Bowling Green or Southwestern KY have not won any, Highlands won 9. Getting to the state championship is not an accomplishment when you are comparing programs to Highlands. Look..I realize those arguments are all about the past, but that is a list over a long period of time. I think Bowling Green and Highlands are both quality programs, BG has made big strides in recent years, but I don't think they are on Highlands level yet. This would be a fun game to watch.
  4. I didn't say a team would beat another team because of a score. I caught you in a lie. You were wrong. You said, "I know John Hardin kept Boyle from scoring for the first time since 1998 and Highlands didn't." ----- Fact Highlands shut out Boyle County in 2004 --- Fact Trying to twist my words again? :idunno:
  5. It's a awful arguement when you lose to the same opponent (Cov Cath and Lex Cath), or lose head-to-head to the team you are arguing about.
  6. Right talking about Highlands and/or Bowling Green which is the subject at hand... These were the quotes your referenced: 1 talked about comparing apples to oranges 2 was a joke Then you changed the subject when you talked about Bowling Green losing 3 years in a row at state, 1 to Highlands and the other 2 to common opponents.
  7. When you changed the conversation you literally said, I will deflect this. Look I am over it but here is your quote.
  8. No WE (As in the rest of Bluegrass preps)were talking about BG , then you changed the subject in post #19 of this thread. The Highlands Bowling Green game won't be played it looks like for a couple of years. I like Bowling Green, my brother-in-law went to school there. I follow them each week and I cheer for them. I think it would be a toss-up this year on who would win. At a neutral site I think Highlands would be a very slight favorite. BG, IMO would be favored at home and Highlands would be favored at home as well. This would definatley be a good game to watch, but it is not going to happen...
  9. Like the point you were trying to make in the thread you pointed out. You wrote. "I know John Hardin kept Boyle from scoring for the first time since 1998 and Highlands didn't." I know Highlands didn't keep Boyle scoreless last year but, refer to Highlands first matchup with Boyle in 2004. I stopped reading after that. Quote what post I skipped over in this thread. After that, I am done talking about Boyle Co., the bolded proves they no longer need to be in this conversation.
  10. So what I learned from this whole conversation is .... (In reference to the thread title) Yes
  11. Go ahead and throw the comparitive scores. In the 3 years discussed Highlands lost to the same opponent 2 of the years and Highlands was the champion the other year. So Highlands 1 Bowling Green 0, as far as state championships during those three years.
  12. It does't matter if your team loses. Both of those years Highlands lost to the same teams Bowling Green did by less points. If there was a bracket with the Heat and the Lakers playing on one side, and the other side was the 2nd grade Johnson Elementary vs. the 1st grade Moyer Elementary.. The 2nd place team would be the Heat of the Lakers. The year Highlands won they beat the team that knocked BG out. In 2008 Bowling Green lost to Owensboro, who lost to Christian Co., who lost to Highlands. In 2007 Highlands beat Bowling Green. In 2006 Highlands lost to Cov Cath by 10 and beat BG in the state championship Cov Cath won by 19. In 2005 Highlands lost to eventual champion Lex Cath by 17 who BG lost to by 18. The year before Highlands won the state championship. In the same year BG lost to Madisonville North Hopkins who lost to Hopkinsville who lost to Boyle Co. Who lost to Highlands. So in the 3 years you metioned, Highlands won a state championship and lost to the same team BG lost to but by less points... How does that answer your question? And we don't even need to talk about what Highlands has done since then or before then... Do we?
  13. We know! You have proven that, and just admitted that you were the culprit of trying to change the subject because it was a losing one for your argument. As for the mention of 5 state championships... That was the argument for Highlands against Bowling Green. We can ask Raiderbird if he meant Boyle County. Here is your statement, and his response... You really think that is a reference to Boyle County? Well lets bring the conversation back to that point, and respond to that question as if that comment had no reference to Boyle County...
  14. I was referring to when Boyle county really entered this conversation. Both Highlands and Bowling Green are in the title of this thread. So what was said in post #19 was about Highlands and Bowling Green. You "deflected" the conversation to Highlands - Boyle County (Not the title of the thread). See Below. This was the response for you getting called out for Bowling Green not being good enough to make it to the finals in years that Highlands won state championshipS.
  15. Where? I never said Bowling Green and Boyle aren't respectable programs. I played against Boyle 4 times and trust me I respect them. I went on a recruiting visit with one of the Boyle players and sat with him during our visit.
  16. like it was Highlands decision to move down. People get mad that kids move to Ft. Thomas, but then blame Highlands for not playing in a higher classification. Ya can't have it both ways. What is even funnier is that Bowling Green finally won another state championship since Highlands moved to a different class. Ironic? They were in the same class for how long? 1995 was the last? As for Boyle, isn't it funny that right when Highlands gets into Boyle's class, Highlands wins... again? The commonality is Highlands winning when in the same tournament as Bowling Green and Boyle.
  17. The old, change what the arugement is about trick (bolded) Was it that in 2004 Boyle Co. only scored 6 points in 2 games against Highlands with a Mr. Kentucky Football candidate at QB and Highlands was missing one of their best players in the second meeting? Was that good enough? Would you rather have 7 state championships or 21? Would you rather have the most wins in Kentucky history or not rank in the top 15 wins?
  18. I did most of the update thread and I wasn't at the game. I was listening on the radio. Bad source to go to the update thread.
  19. My take is Highlands got absolutly worked on defense. Elder said they were going to run the ball and Highlands wasn't going to stop it and they were right. The offense couldn't keep up. There were a fee key plays in the game. The first was the highlands interception in the endzone on Elders first drive. Another was Highlands missed fg at the half time buzzer. The last was the mccoy interception. Elder was a lot better.
