  1. Is that because Towles was a late bloomer and they didn't have recess in High School?
  2. Highlands with this many turnovers and still have the lead...
  3. Well someone's season just got extended for an extra day... The best question is... Who the heck is in charge of fundraising at Holy Cross? They need to get with the program
  4. What % of schools don't have some type of open enrollment (Whether it be a manget school, private, etc.)?
  5. It is one of the many deciding factors IMO. If there werent classifications, the disparity between large and small enrollments would show more. IMO
  6. I agree. My previous comment was saying that the subject at hand is enrollment. Other factors would be a different debate because this thread is titled, "Does enrollment size matter?"
  7. Those are good questions, but those debates would be in a different thread. Such as, Does distance an athlete lives from the school matter? or Does the amount of reduced lunch students matter? Etc.
  8. The reason is that enrollment is NOT the only factor. We are simply talking about if it helps to have a larger enrollment, and the easy answer is yes. It is easy to bring up examples when there are hunderds of games that have been played. Like Highlands beating a larger school, or on the other side, Trinity being one of the largest enrollments and they are the best team in the state. Everyone knows that enrollment isnt the only factor in determining winners. All I am saying is that if we are only talking about the number of boys at a school, it is better to have more to choose from. Just like it is better to come from a school with great community support, or a good coaching staff, or tradition. I will compare it to the New York Yankees, they have the highest payroll in baseball, but they don't always win. As a baseball owner, would you rather have more money to spend on players? Sure you would, but it doesn't guarantee anything. There are many other factors in who wins a World Series or State Championship.
  9. But we agree that it is an advantage to have more students to pick from.... That was my whole point. What do you mean by the difference between 'enrollment' and 'enrollment size'?
  10. Enrollment does matter. There are a lot of things that go into having a successful program, but if we are specifically talking about enrollment, it is an advantage of having more to choose from. Enrollment is not near the only factor, but you said yourself, if everything else was held equal, you would rather have more students to be able to choose from.
  11. All other things held equal, would you rather have 1400 boys to choose from or 100? (Any other answer than 1400 or 100 is changing the subject)
  12. Not a trick question, all other factors held equal... Would you rather pick from 100 or 1400?
  13. Just entering this thread.... Purplepride......there are 2 answers that are for this question.... All other factors held equal, Would you rather have 1400 athletes to pick from, or would you rather have 100? (Either say 1400 or 100, any other answer is changing the question.)
  14. Wow, I never heard that story. Sounds like that ref is the Steve Bartman of Murray.
  15. So are we looking at a Russell Co. vs Warren East or Collins final? :irked:
  16. Who is expected to come out of the West this year?
