Listening to 790am in Louisville yesterday to the Afternoon Underdogs show there was dicussion about the current high school basketball betting scandal. A caller said he was a high school official and that as far as he was concerned, that there would never be a holding flag or similar foul coming from him on teams playing Trinity or St. X. He then went on to say that it is no secret that southern officials will protect southern schools, eastern officials will protect easter schools and etc.. Now I believe this guy is in the minority but does anyone else have an opinion on this? I know we have some officials on this board. Any comments? It would be nice if someone recognized his voice and reported him.

Isn't he still on Sunday Night Football? Seems like he would not be available on Fridays with game prep and etc..

I tend to think two things are in play here. One, teams from Pa, Fla., and Texas are watching their travel dollars and secondly Kentucky teams do not have national appeal. These games are on the ESPN network and they are looking for only known powerhouses that will draw a national audience.

If people knew what Coach Miller had to do to get Coach Sullivan on his bench, they would love him even more. Took a lot of work.

This was an interesting game. North had a huge advantage inside but refused to get the ball there. North led almost the whole game. Everytime it looked like they were going to pull away, WV made a three. Both teams shot it well. Officiating was wild to say the least. Very physical, double technical just not solid officiating. Game was getting out of control and could have been kept in check early. Playoff physical is one thing but at times it looked like a football game. By the way, I am a neutral, no dog in the fight. I was just invited by a friend. First time to Henry County's gym. It is wonderful. All schools should have a similar venue.

Is Scott going to let them use their facilities? Where will the necessary number of kids come from. Sounds like either the other NKYFL teams or the middle school teams will get hurt if this gets going. Unless there is a lot of kids who need a team.

Why wouldn't they form middle school teams? That seems to be the way the state is going.

Coach Miller runs basically the same offense as Duke. As much I hate to admit it, seems to work pretty well.

My sons go to Trinity. Do not play sports and we are not Catholic. There are many families in the same position. We want what we feel is the best education for our sons.
